Cathy had been told by her husband that Chleo would be home when the holiday season started. Vincent had given a strict ban on all companies in Washington and beyond. No one would dare to violate the prohibition from the Flex group, the top three biggest business empires around the world. 

Cathy was looking forward to the return of her two children to New York. At first, she wanted Diego to be sent home immediately, but Vincent forbade her. He even took this opportunity to have their nth honeymoon in Bali.

His main goal was to be alone with his wife, but for all these reasons, Vincent wanted to avoid the bold advances of the Miyazaki family.

If only Eiji Miyazaki weren't an important figure in his latest project, Vincent would have rejected the proposal outright.

Vincent was a very old-fashioned person. And he didn't want his son to get married at such an early age. So Vincent just let his son run away to Seattle. Instead, he supported the boy, even though he also sent bodyguards for Diego secretly.

Seeing that Diego managed to escape for a while, Vincent decided to use this opportunity to be alone with his wife. He would use the honeymoon title as an excuse so that Mr. Eiji Miyazaki would not pestering him.

Who would have thought that he would get reports that someone was after his daughter while in Bali? Of course, he couldn't stay still.

He knew Chleo was planning on taking this holiday season to work as an intern and not going back to New York. So Vincent took a shortcut by giving a ban to all of Washington and its surroundings to forbid them to hire Chleo West.

If someone decided to violate his ban, any proposal submitted to cooperate with the Flex group would be withdrawn. Not only Flex group, but Alvianc group, and Bernz corp also held the same ban to help Vincent.

That way, all of the company's administrators in Washington had to rethink accepting Chleo West no matter how talented the girl was. They could only wonder what Chleo West has done to make three prominent families very influential in the business world prevent her from working.

They would never think that Chleo West was the daughter of the founder of Flex group and the niece of the primary control of Alvianc and Bernz corp.

If they discovered out, maybe they would find out Chleo's house and approach her. They might even introduce their son to Chleo.

Thus, hearing that her daughter was accepted at some company making Cathy was surprised. Which company had the guts to take Chleo after receiving the ban?

"You got the job? How could that be?"

"Oh, I almost forgot. Mama, why did papa impose a company-wide ban in Washington? Does this mean papa broke his promise?"

"…"

"Mama, where is he?"

"Ehem… honey, have you eaten yet? How was the food there? Surely not as good as my cooking, right? Don't you miss my cooking at home?

Chleo giggled lightly, knowing her mother had tried to distract her. Well, she wanted to protest furthermore. But since she had been accepted and she was in a perfect mood that day, Chleo followed her mother's wishes.

"Yeah, I miss your cooking. You're the best cooker in the world." praised Chleo in a happy manner.

"Then hurry home, okay?" begged his mother with pleading eyes.

"I'll be home on the 24th afternoon, then come back here on January 2nd. They allowed me up to 10 days off."

"Are you going to continue working there?"

"Of course. I will work until the end of February. They will have a jewelry exhibition on Valentine's Day."

Cathy just sighed resignedly to hear her daughter's explanation. If possible, she wanted her daughter not to work, but she knew that was impossible. Her daughter was very much like her when she was young. Full of energy and would feel depressed if there was nothing to do.

Now she somewhat understood Uncle Ben's feeling, who used to persuade her to quit her job.

"Okay, then. It seems I can only enjoy our time together during the holidays." Cathy wore a disappointed expression her two children knew all too well.

"How about you come to the show later? I'll try to get a VIP ticket for you guys."

"Can we come?"

"Wow, did you struck by lightning or what? Why did you allow us to come?"

"What is that supposed to mean?" Chleo ruffled her brother's hair making Diego laugh amused. "This will be my last year here. I guess it's okay that you guys show up. Moreover, I heard that many officials and important people would also come to this event. They said there would be proposal scenes. Don't you like romantic scenes like that, mama?"

Cathy laughed at that. "Okay. Then I will persuade your papa to let you work there."

"Yippie! You really understand me the most." Chleo exclaimed happily, making Diego roll his eyes.

So that was the way Chleo bribing their mother? If the mother occurred to persuade the father, then surely… Vincent would never say no.

The three of them were still exchanging tales solemnly. But Chleo still hadn't told her mother about Maximillian's presence in her heart. After all, she still didn't know her relationship with Max. Moreover, she still had to give a firm answer to Alexis, who was still expecting her.

Chleo wouldn't be able to start a relationship with Max if she hadn't officially rejected Alexis. And she couldn't possibly refuse the young man if Alexis was still far away. It sounded disrespectful if she rejected the young man's feelings just through a call.

Chleo could only be patient and wait for the day Alexis returned to America.

Plus, Chleo still didn't know how Max felt about her. But she guessed that the young man also had the same feelings as her.

Therefore she decided to spend time with the young man while getting to know him more. Chleo would also let the young man approach her and get to know her better.

She just hoped the guy would never find her annoying when Max found out about her reckleness.
