Battle Through the Heavens: Inward Cultivation, Crying Xiao Yan

The ingredients needed for coagulation powder are very few, only four.

They are one blood-clotting flower, one blood-activating herb, one bone-growth flower, and one blood-tonifying herb.

This is the simplest prescription for a first-grade elixir provided by the system.

It is the easiest to make and the most suitable for beginners to learn.

Xiao Yang naturally chose this option.

After setting up the task, he took out a sample of coagulation powder.

There just so happens that one of the tasks requires testing the medicinal properties of herbs.

Although he had already memorized the medicinal properties of these herbs.

However, that was all book knowledge.

The purpose of creating the task was to let him experience it for himself.

After thinking for a moment, Xiao Yang took out six more medicinal herbs, just enough to complete one mission.

He took a small piece of each herb and put it in his mouth.

Different medicinal materials can also be used directly, but they don't work as quickly as elixirs.

Its effects are not as good as those of elixirs.

Xiao Yang carefully felt the effects of these medicinal herbs.

Soon, he had consumed a portion of all ten medicinal herbs.

A system notification sounded in his mind.

[Task: Test the medicinal properties of ten herbs. Reward: Pharmacology Proficiency +1. Completed. Claim reward?]

He didn't hesitate and took it directly.

The next moment, he suddenly felt that some specific information about the medicinal herbs had appeared in his mind.

Especially the ten medicinal herbs he tasted.

Now he is confident that he can understand the medicinal properties of each of the ten herbs and their age by observing them once.

He could only roughly identify it, and it wasn't necessarily accurate.

Now, however, one can see the specific condition of a medicinal herb.

Of course, the main focus is on these ten medicinal herbs.

As for the others, although I have some information, I cannot accurately tell how effective the medicine is.

Xiao Yang's face was full of joy, as this would be of great help to his alchemy!

After all, there are recipes for alchemy.

However, the prescription can only be considered a standard.

To refine a perfect quality elixir, one needs to make subtle adjustments.

Among these, the most important are understanding pharmacology and judging the efficacy of medicinal materials.

Xiao Yang picked up a Blood Clotting Flower and examined it. Although he had plucked a petal, the flower was of good quality and could still be used as medicine.

The same goes for the other medicinal herbs; the batch of herbs that Ya Fei provided were all of relatively good quality.

He was ready to start trying to refine it.

He placed his hand on the medicine cauldron and began to infuse it with fighting spirit.

"Boom!"

In an instant, a red flame appeared inside the medicine cauldron.

The flames were extremely violent.

If you put the medicinal herbs in now, they will most likely turn into ashes.

He began to transform some of his fighting spirit into wood-attribute fighting spirit.

If you're a regular alchemist, this step will take a while to complete.

After all, they only had a trace of wood-attribute fighting spirit in their bodies.

However, it would be incredibly easy for Xiao Yang to switch.

The next moment, he injected a wisp of wood-attribute fighting spirit into the cauldron.

In an instant, the previously raging flames calmed down considerably.

This is why alchemists need to have a trace of the wood element.

It's not just about experiencing the medicinal properties of the herbs, but also about making the flames more peaceful.

Otherwise, with only the fire attribute, it would be difficult to calm the raging flames.

Xiao Yang did not immediately throw in the medicinal herbs.

He knew that in the beginning, his skill in controlling the fire was low, and it was easy to burn the medicinal herbs.

So he started trying to reduce the amount of fighting spirit he was putting in and turn down the flame.

He soon discovered it.

The size of the flame is not only related to the amount of fighting spirit input, but also to the proportion of wood-attribute fighting spirit.

He began trying to control the flame temperature.

It keeps adjusting the settings, sometimes up, sometimes down.

After practicing for a while, he found that he had become quite proficient at controlling the fire on the system panel.

However, my proficiency level is still 0.

After turning down the flame, he picked up a blood-clotting flower and carefully dropped it into the cauldron lid through the opening.

Once the Blood Clotting Flower comes into contact with flames, it begins to slowly lose moisture and wither.

Extracting blood-clotting flowers is very simple; it involves refining them into a medicinal powder.

He watched the blood clots slowly shrink inside the furnace, without adjusting the temperature of the flames.

Although the temperature is not high enough now, he is afraid that if he accidentally turns it up, he will burn the blood-clotting grass to ashes.

Soon, the blood-clotting herb turned into a pile of powder.

It worked!

Xiao Yang's method is excellent; he succeeded in refining medicinal herbs on his first attempt.

The main reason is that although the temperature of the flame he just used was slightly low, it was just right for refining the blood coagulation flower.

After carefully taking out the powder from the blood-clotting flower and setting it aside for later use, Xiao Yang prepared to begin refining the blood-activating herb.

Throughout this time, his fighting spirit never ceased, maintaining the stability of the flames.

The extraction temperature required for the Blood-Activating Herb is even higher than that for the Blood-Coagulating Flower.

He began to carefully input fire-attribute fighting spirit.

When he felt it was about time, he threw the blood-activating herb directly into it.

This time, Xiao Yang wasn't so lucky.

The blood-activating herb was burned directly.

Black residue fell out from under the medicine cauldron.

Undeterred, Xiao Yang took out another Blood-Activating Grass and began carefully adjusting the flame temperature.

……

Soon, time passed, and Xiao Yang extracted a total of ten portions of coagulation powder.

That is, forty plants.

However, only fifteen medicinal herbs were successfully extracted.

Fortunately, while refining the tenth medicinal herb, he completed a fire control proficiency task.

With increased proficiency in fire control, coupled with powerful soul perception.

Five portions were successfully extracted from the last seven medicinal herbs!

This can be considered as progress.

The fifteen medicinal powders are from different herbs, and can only be used to make three prescriptions for coagulation powder.

After all, although there are four of each kind of medicinal herb, at least three portions of medicinal powder can be extracted.

However, these medicinal herbs are relatively inexpensive anyway.

Next, he prepared to begin the process of refining the pill!

In other words, these powders are mixed together to make real clotting powder.

Chapter 32 Coagulation Powder

This final step, the fusion of the elixir, is also the most difficult.

Fortunately, Xiao Yang refined a first-grade blood-clotting powder.

There's no need to actually refine it into a pill.

To make it into powder, simply combine the powders extracted from the four herbs.

This is different from refining pills, except that it skips the step of condensing the pill.

In reality, alchemy can sometimes be very dangerous.

After all, many of the ingredients in elixirs contain magic cores.

The energy inside the magic core is extremely violent.

If significant mistakes occur during the fusion process, the furnace may explode.

If the furnace explodes, at best some medicinal herbs and a cauldron will be lost; at worst, the alchemist himself will be seriously injured or even killed!

Xiao Yang carefully controlled the temperature of the flames and began adding the previously refined medicinal powder.

Although it is best to continue refining the medicinal materials after extraction, it is also best to directly fuse them into pills.

However, Xiao Yang himself was a beginner and could not do that.

Therefore, we can only extract it first and set it aside for later use. Now we put it together in the same container.

He carefully placed the extracted medicinal powder into the alchemy furnace, following the steps outlined in the prescription.

As time went by, he could feel the medicinal powder inside the alchemy furnace beginning to blend together.

A hint of joy flashed in Xiao Yang's eyes.

However, he quickly suppressed the joy in his eyes and calmed himself down.

One must remain calm when refining elixirs.

Otherwise, excessive emotional fluctuations could easily cause the flame temperature to rise, burning all the medicinal herbs.

Soon, the powders of the four herbs were finally blended together.

A system notification sound also rang in his mind.

[Task: Refine a batch of Blood Clotting Powder. Reward: Grade 1 Pill Proficiency +1, one Blood Crystal Bamboo stalk. Completed. Claim reward?]

He suppressed his excitement and slowly withdrew the fighting spirit from the alchemy furnace.

After the flames went out, Xiao Yang waved his hand, and the lid of the cauldron opened automatically.

A cloud of white powder flew out from inside.

We finally succeeded!

There were also some black impurities in the powder, which is evidence that a small portion of the medicinal materials had been burned.

His coagulation powder was barely passable.

However, for Xiao Yang, who had just started learning alchemy, this was already quite good.
