Chapter 28 Fireman's Betrayal
The Fireman's last resort was to find Cassandra.
"I swear, Cassandra is absolutely capable of sending you out of the Void," the Fireman said earnestly. "She killed a horse-faced mage, and Cassandra obtained his ring. That ring can definitely get you out of there."
The Human Torch added gravely, "Cassandra is strong, extremely strong. She's Professor X's sister, so..."
"So we have to take on Professor X?" Wolverine frowned. He knew Professor X's abilities very well, and it was precisely because he knew them that he felt this was a tricky job. He subconsciously touched his chest, trying to pull out a bottle of liquor, but he failed. He could only say helplessly, "We need helpers, lots of helpers, and liquor."
Rune added, "And Cassandra definitely has other henchmen."
"Um, if you need help..." Thunderbolt raised his hand: "I know where to find some."
The group abandoned Toadman and the other henchmen, taking Fireman with them. As Human Torch climbed back into his magical chariot, he affectionately stroked it, saying, "My darling, I'm back!"
"This really is the car you lost?" Rune looked at the Human Torch in surprise. "Where's that man whose whole body can stretch? With him around, even if the Magic Chariot is lost, he can easily make you a new one by hand."
"Uh..." Thunderbolt looked a little embarrassed. He scratched his head and said, "Uh, my sister didn't come with him, and my relationship with my brother-in-law isn't that good..."
"And then you broke up with Mr. Fantastic?" Rune nodded. The Human Torch was unruly and did things his own way, while Mr. Fantastic was somewhat arrogant. He had absolute confidence in his intelligence, and under normal circumstances, Mr. Fantastic's intelligence was enough to support his confidence. But that's precisely why he was sometimes incredibly stubborn.
Without the Invisible Woman acting as a mediator between the Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic, they would easily have conflicts.
"Oh, right, we still need to get the Paradox to give to Fireman for preventing mind reading." Rune got into the car. "We'll have to rely on you then, Deadpool."
"Huh?" Deadpool was puzzled as to why he was being mentioned. He pointed to himself and said, "You mean me? Me, fighting Professor X's sister? That's a bit much."
"That would be great! If she controls you, I can kill you a thousand times without any guilt!" Wolverine didn't miss any opportunity to strike Deadpool. Of course, Wolverine wasn't lying. Although Deadpool's regenerative abilities were stronger than Wolverine's, Wolverine had the advantage in combat skills.
Over the past two hundred years, Wolverine has participated in numerous wars, learned and mastered various martial arts and special moves from around the world, and is especially proficient in Japanese ninjutsu. In the ability ratings given by Marvel, Wolverine from Universe 616 has reached the highest level of 7 in combat skills, while Deadpool's combat skills are slightly lower at 6.
"Oh...you really hurt my feelings." Deadpool hugged Wolverine with his right hand and wiped his eyes with his left, looking more like the wronged wife next door.
Wolverine snorted fiercely, using all his strength to restrain himself from sticking out his claws and stabbing them into Deadpool's brain.
"Stop messing around, Deadpool. Logan, since he's trying to save his world, please help us out, okay?" Rune had no choice but to act as a peacemaker. He could only make a pleading gesture, opening his big, watery eyes wide as he looked at Logan.
"You'll get me killed sooner or later." Wolverine, carrying Man of Fire, boarded the Magical Vehicle. After securing Man of Fire, Logan added, "I'll do my best."
Although Wolverine may appear rude, cold, and even somewhat aloof on the surface, he has a gentle and kind side deep down. He is extremely loyal to his friends and companions and is willing to do anything for them. He also protects the weak and pursues justice.
Don't be fooled by how harshly he insulted Deadpool before. If Deadpool had just looked at him so sadly and hadn't given him a piece of his mind, Wolverine would have been the one apologizing the next.
Deadpool hopped and skipped into the Hydra sports car, then let out a satisfied sigh: "No wonder it's every man's dream. Humph, when I see Happy again, I'm definitely going to drift in front of him! That'll teach him a lesson he won't accept!"
With a means of transportation, traveling in the void became much smoother. After arriving at the location given by the paradox, everyone got off the vehicle together.
On the ground in front of them was an exquisite box that stood out completely from the dilapidated surroundings, bearing the TVA logo.
Pyro picked it up and respectfully handed it to the Magic Chariot. Faced with the group of thugs before him, he didn't even have the slightest thought of resisting. Wolverine and Deadpool were no match for him; killing him would be as easy as killing a chicken. The youngest-looking one was a sorcerer, and sorcerers were inherently mysterious and unpredictable, so Pyro certainly wouldn't dare to act rashly.
As for the Human Torch? Let's look at the box in front of us, family.
Just as Wolverine was about to get out of the car, Deadpool scrambled over and grabbed the box—Deadpool had been the furthest from the box earlier—and opened it without hesitation, letting out a "wow!"
Rune flew curiously to the box and was delighted to see the item. He said to Wolverine, "It's your old friend, Magneto's helmet."
Inside the box, a purple full-coverage helmet lay quietly on the silk. Its creator was the infamous Sebastian the Black King, whose power was to absorb energy, even nuclear explosions. However, he was ultimately killed by Magneto, and this helmet became Magneto's essential equipment.
This helmet is very effective, capable of blocking Professor X's mind intrusion, and is quite valuable, but its presence here is rather inappropriate.
"It seems Paradox is either an idiot or doesn't really care whether you live or die," Rune said to Fireman with a smile.
This helmet is quite famous. In a storyline where they were also fighting Cassandra, Tony Stark mass-produced a large number of helmets. Not only the X-Men, but also characters like Thor, Captain America, and Namor wore Magneto's standard helmet. If Pyro dared to appear in front of Cassandra wearing this helmet, he would definitely be skinned alive.
Fireman belatedly realized what Rune meant, and then he was so angry that he gritted his teeth. What a paradox! You want to use someone and then discard them?
Row!
Fireman immediately put on a repentant look, tearfully accusing Paradox of his actions, including but not limited to arbitrarily convicting time-traveling superheroes and villains, arbitrarily manipulating the timeline, exchanging favors with Conqueror Kang, and attempting to become the true ruler of the Time and Space Administration. This series of revelations stunned Rune.
Wolverine sneered.
"It seems this is no longer a personal grudge!"
