Chapter 279 The True Master of Wayne Manor

After giving Xiao Xian a massage, Selena got up and looked around Xiao Xian's room with great curiosity. She walked to the table, casually flipping through the items on it, and then went to the bookshelf, carefully examining the neatly arranged books, as if searching for something interesting.

Suddenly, Selena's gaze fell on a corner of the room where a wardrobe looked unusually small. She frowned slightly, a hint of doubt in her voice: "This wardrobe is so small, how many clothes can it hold?"

Bruce saw Selena walk towards the door from inside the closet, and his heart leaped into his throat. If Selena opened the door, he really didn't know how to explain himself. He couldn't very well say he was asleep inside and didn't hear anything, could he?

At this moment, Xiao Xian said with a smile, "Don't let the small size of this wardrobe fool you, it can actually hold quite a lot."

Selena looked at Xiao Xian with a skeptical expression. "Really?" she said, reaching out to open the wardrobe.

Bruce was even more nervous inside, but at the same time, he felt inexplicably excited and thrilled, even somewhat agitated. He held his breath, staring intently at Selena's movements.

Just then, Xiao Xian grabbed Selena's hand again and said with a smile, "More than that, I'm curious about what clothes you have in your wardrobe. Come on, let's see if there's anything I like."

Selena laughed and said, "Okay, since you put it that way, let's go take a look at my wardrobe. I have lots of really pretty clothes, I'm sure you'll like them."

Xiao Xian pulled Selena along and walked briskly out of the room. Bruce, hiding in the closet, saw the two leaving through the crack and finally breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time felt a strange sense of loss.

Bruce knew perfectly well how dangerous that moment had been. If Xiao Xian hadn't reacted quickly, he would have been exposed by now, and yet he had actually felt a thrill and excitement in that situation.

At dinner time, Bruce and Selena sat at the table eating, both of them somewhat absent-minded, while Harley and Xiao Xian stood aside waiting for instructions.

Bruce looked around first, then took a deep breath and said to Selena, "You know, when Alfred was still around, we rarely had the chance to eat at the same table together. Now that I think about it, I feel like I owe him so much."

Selena smiled and nodded: "Yes, Afu has always been very good to us."

Bruce continued, "I've always considered the butler and servants as family. In that case, why don't we invite Xiao Xian and Harley to have dinner with us too?"

Selena nodded gently: "Okay, it'll be more lively if everyone eats together."

Bruce gestured to Harley and Xiao Xian, "You two sit down too."

So they rearranged the seats, with Bruce letting Xiao Xian sit opposite Selena, while he himself sat facing Harley.

During the meal, Selena suddenly mentioned, "Today I had nothing to do, so I went to take a look at Bin's room and felt that his room was too small and inconvenient."

Bruce nodded in agreement: "Indeed, we should improve his accommodations."

Selena continued, "I think Bin works very hard, and his room should be more comfortable."

Bruce looked at Harley: "Euclid Wood, you arrange for a bigger and more luxurious room for Bin."

Harley smiled and nodded. "Okay, Mr. Wayne, I'll take care of it."

Xiao Xian looked at Bruce and Selena gratefully: "Thank you for your concern and arrangements."

Bruce smiled and said, "You're welcome. You're our assistant and our friend."

Selena looked at Xiao Xian tenderly: "I hope you can live more comfortably so you can work better."

Xiao Xian nodded gratefully: "Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne. I will do my best in my work."

Harley looked at Xiao Xian, who had a serious expression and seemed like a professional assistant, and couldn't help but want to tease him.

Harley glanced discreetly at Bruce and Selena, who were both looking equally serious, then gently kicked off her little leather shoes, revealing a pair of long, beautiful legs and delicate feet. She slowly stretched her feet toward Xiao Xian.

However, just as Harley's foot was about to touch Xiao Xian, she accidentally bumped into another foot. Harley looked down in surprise and saw that it was Selena's foot. Selena had obviously noticed Harley's movement as well; a look of surprise flashed in her eyes, and a faint blush rose to her cheeks.

Selena's feet were slender and delicate, painted with light pink nail polish, making them exceptionally alluring. She and Harley exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with surprise and a hint of panic. Then Selena quickly looked at Xiao Xian, her eyes filled with questioning and unease.

Xiao Xian smiled slightly and gave Selena a "no problem" look. Selena relaxed a little; as expected, Harley didn't intend to report to Bruce, which reassured her considerably.

Selena adjusted her posture slightly, trying to hide her nervousness and panic, but her heart was still pounding.

Bruce keenly noticed the unusual expressions between Harley and Selena, his eyes darting back and forth between them, a sense of unease creeping into his heart. As a detective well-versed in human anatomy, he quickly noticed Harley's subtle shift in posture.

Harley sat in the chair, leaning slightly to the side, a posture that suggested one of her feet might be extending towards Xiao Xian. Bruce carefully observed Harley's expression; a hint of mischief and excitement flashed in her eyes, and a faint smile played on her lips.

Based on Harley's previous actions and expressions, Bruce was quite certain that Harley and Xiao Xian likely had an unusual relationship. The fact that he was completely unaware of this made him angry and uneasy. What angered Bruce even more was that he had a vague feeling that things were spiraling out of his control.

After dinner, Bruce smiled at Xiao Xian, seemingly without any ulterior motive: "Bin, tonight I'd like to talk to you about your salary increase. Harley, please come along too."

Xiao Xian was slightly taken aback, but still nodded and replied, "Okay, Mr. Bruce."

Harley glanced at Bruce curiously, a little puzzled, but said nothing.

The three of them arrived at Bruce's office together. Bruce walked in first, opened the door, and gestured for the two to come in. Xiao Xian and Harley entered the office one after the other, and Bruce followed, closing the door and locking it. The sound of the lock clicking on the door was particularly clear in the quiet room.

Bruce then walked straight behind his desk, gestured for them to sit down, and his smile disappeared, replaced by a serious expression.

Bruce then went to a cabinet, opened the door, took out a bundle of thick rope, and walked straight to Xiao Xian, quickly tying him to a chair with the rope. Harley screamed and tried to run away, but after Bruce coldly said, "Think of your daughter," Harley could only sit in the chair, watching in terror as Bruce tied her up as well.

"Perhaps my previous indulgence made you a little arrogant, forgetting who the real owner of this manor is." Bruce picked up his braid and looked at Xiao Xian and Harley as he spoke slowly.

"Is he threatening me with my daughter again in his imagination?"

While watching Bruce tie up the two empty chairs together with Xiao Xian, Harley complained after hearing Bruce's words.

"It's obvious," Xiao Xian shrugged.

"How tasteless," Harley said disdainfully as she ate potato chips and watched Bruce, who was grimacing and hitting a chair.
