Chapter 280 A Wise Choice

The whip made a sharp sound in the air.

Harley and Xiao Xian were both pale with fright, their eyes filled with terror as they looked at Bruce.

"Bin," Bruce's deep voice echoed in the room, "you cannot touch any woman in Wayne Manor without my permission. Selena, Harley, and especially Selena. You can't even hold hands without my permission."

After saying that, Bruce lashed out with the whip, which struck Xiao Xian hard on the back. Xiao Xian groaned in pain, his body trembling with agony. Then, the whip struck Harley's leg, causing her to scream in pain, tears streaming from her eyes.

"Bruce, please, stop!" Harley cried out, her voice filled with despair and fear.

Xiao Xian also pleaded for mercy in anguish, "Mr. Bruce, I understand, I will never dare to do it again, please stop."

Bruce didn't stop immediately, but continued to whip her relentlessly, each lash carrying a chilling force. Harley's cries and Xiao Xian's pleas for mercy echoed in the room, sending shivers down everyone's spines.

Beside them, Xiao Xian and Harley sat leisurely on the sofa, eating fried chicken while watching Bruce vent his anger on two empty chairs. Bruce held a whip, lashing the back of the chairs violently, his eyes filled with rage and determination.

Harley shook her head helplessly while biting into a fried chicken leg, muttering under her breath, "Is this guy schizophrenic? One minute he's trying to set you up with Selena, and the next he's acting like this, telling you not to touch Selena without his permission."

Xiao Xian smiled calmly, picked up a fried chicken wing, and said softly, "It's Bruce's subconscious that's still resisting. Most people would have succumbed long ago. He is Batman after all; his mental fortitude is extraordinary."

Harley turned to look at Xiao Xian, and asked in confusion, "Then what should we do? He's like this now, who knows when he might completely go crazy?"

Xiao Xian smiled faintly and said, "Don't worry, the first step has been taken. Before long, Bruce will be completely corrupted. This kind of thing is similar to cheating; it's either zero times or countless times."

Xiao Xian and Harley sat on the sofa, leisurely eating fried chicken, their eyes occasionally glancing at Bruce, who was furiously whipping two empty chairs, venting his anger. The room was filled with the cracking of the whip and the dull thuds of the chairs being struck.

Harley took a bite of her fried chicken leg, smacked her lips in dissatisfaction, and said softly, "Even though it's just a fantasy, it still doesn't feel good to see Bruce beating you and me like that in his fantasy."

Xiao Xian's lips curled slightly upward as he calmly said, "You can use magic to go into his dreams tonight and give him a good beating."

Harley shook her head reluctantly. "That would consume a lot of corrupting power, it feels like a waste. I'd rather just go up and slap him twice."

Xiao Xian chuckled and teased, "If you want to go up and slap him twice without being noticed, you'll have to expend even more corrupting power."

Harley thought for a moment, then pouted, "Never mind, I'll wait until Bruce is completely corrupted before beating him up. It'll take a while, but at least it'll be free."

"Or you could see if there's a good opportunity to get revenge on Bruce during his downfall. You could use your position as the butler to pull some strings," Xiao Xian said, looking at Harley, who was eager to go up and beat Bruce up.

"I'll find an opportunity!" Harley nodded.

Finally, Bruce stopped, looking at the two men in their disheveled state with satisfaction. Harley was crying uncontrollably, while Xiao Xian was covered in cuts and bruises, his face contorted in pain, sweat and tears mingling together. Bruce felt he had regained control of the situation, and his anger gradually subsided.

"Remember what I said," Bruce said coldly. "Whatever you're thinking, you must follow my rules."

After saying that, Bruce untied the ropes binding the two men, turned around and walked back to his desk, as if everything that had just happened was just a simple warning. Then Bruce took out several bottles of healing potions from his drawer.

Bruce walked up to the two men and said coldly, "This is a medicine for treating wounds. You've already used it, Ah Bin, so I won't go into the details of its effects."

Xiao Xian reluctantly accepted the medicine and said in a low voice, "Thank you, Mr. Wayne. I promise I won't do it again next time."

Harley nodded slightly, her voice choked with emotion, and said, "Thank you."

"You can leave now." Bruce waved his hand, indicating that they could go.

Harley and Xiao Xian helped each other up from their chairs, moving with painful steps as they walked out of Bruce's office.

At night, Bruce and Selena sat on the sofa in the living room, the only light coming from the television. They sat side by side, an elusive stillness filling the air.

The television news was playing, and the scene switched to Aquaman Arthur's press conference. Arthur stood in front of a blue background, solemnly announcing the formation of a special task force to handle the cooperation with the Wayne Enterprises.

Selena leaned back on the sofa, her legs elegantly crossed, her eyes glued to the screen. Bruce, meanwhile, stared intently at the news footage, his brow slightly furrowed, as if deep in thought.

When the news anchor mentioned that "Aquaman Arthur has set up a special team to coordinate cooperation with Wayne Enterprises," Bruce smiled with satisfaction.

"It seems everything is going according to plan," Bruce said in a low voice, a hint of satisfaction in his tone.

Selena turned to look at Bruce, smiled, and said, "You always succeed."

Bruce looked into Selena's eyes and gently replied, "My success wouldn't have been possible without your support."

Selena looked at Bruce, then suddenly remembered something, blinked, and asked, "Bruce, are you hungry? I'll cook you some late-night snacks myself. I learned some Chinese cooking from Bin this afternoon."

Bruce was about to refuse, but when he heard Selena mention Xiao Xian, his eyes lit up slightly, and he smiled and said, "I'm actually a little hungry." He then jokingly added, "But you only learned this afternoon, are you sure you can do it? I won't eat it if it tastes bad."

Selena smiled, a sly glint in her eyes. "Don't worry, I'll have Bin guide me. He's taught me a lot of tricks."

Bruce nodded in satisfaction and praised, "A wise choice."

Selena stood up and gently patted Bruce on the shoulder. "You wait here, I'll get ready."

Selena, wearing a light blue apron, walked towards Xiao Xian's room. She knocked gently on the door, and after receiving a response, she pushed it open and entered.

Selena's outfit looked exceptionally warm and homey, with an apron tied around her slender waist, outlining her beautiful curves. The small floral pattern on the apron added a touch of playfulness and cuteness, making her look both elegant and full of life.

Xiao Xian was reading in his room when he saw Selena push the door open and enter. He smiled and said, "Selena, it's so late, what's up?"

Selena smiled and approached Xiao Xian, gently patting her apron with both hands. "Bin, come on, come with me to the kitchen."
