Chapter 206 Never Win

"Can Lynn's team handle it?" she couldn't help but ask Hans, the technical team leader sitting next to her, in a low voice.

Hans stared at the screen, his expression calm. "This isn't the first time Lynn has done something like this. He's capable, but—"

He paused, glanced at Kate, and said, "The Holy Blood Alliance is not an ordinary target."

This was a direct involvement of their key figures, and such actions usually come with some kind of devastating follow-up.

Kate bit her lip, clenched her fists tightly, but dared not take her eyes off the screen for a moment.

Lynn successfully infiltrated the warehouse's perimeter; Hans's intelligence was accurate. Security here was extremely tight, and the patrol routes were meticulously planned. Lynn leaned against a metal frame, quickly analyzing the next steps.

The team member's voice came through the headset: "The patrol on the east side has been cleared; we can advance."

Lynn nodded and whispered the order: "Move out. Remain silent. Confirm the cargo first."

He glanced up at the large warehouse not far away, the location of his target. The warehouse's iron door was ajar, and dim light shone from inside. He could vaguely see several workers busily loading and unloading some huge crates. Lynn quickly scanned the markings on the crates with his binoculars, his brow furrowing.

"Hans, can you find the numbers on these boxes?" Lynn asked in a low voice.

Hans quickly responded, "We're already investigating. Just a moment—these numbers belong to a company called 'Trian Logistics,' but it's a shell company with almost no real business."

"A classic disguise," Lynn said in a low voice, his eyes sharpening. "The contents of these boxes are most likely related to the Holy Blood Alliance's experiments."

As he prepared to approach further, a heated argument suddenly erupted from inside the warehouse.

"You're stalling for time!" a man's voice shouted angrily.

Lynn's gaze sharpened, and he quickly adjusted the frequency of his headphones, using the device to capture the conversation inside the warehouse.

"Caller," another voice said, clearly calmer but with a hint of impatience, "these goods need to be carefully inspected to ensure there are no problems during transport."

"Inspect? We don't have time to inspect!" the angry voice continued. "Do you know how crucial this operation is? If these things don't arrive on time, the Holy Blood Alliance's plans will be completely disrupted. And the FBI is already watching us—"So we can't afford any mistakes." The calm voice interrupted coldly, "Your job is to protect the cargo. The rest is not your concern."

Lynn's brow furrowed deeper and deeper. His intuition told him that the angry voice belonged to Caleb, while the calm voice likely belonged to the person in charge of the experiment—a scientist, or someone of higher rank.

He whispered into the headset, "I heard Caleb. The cargo is extremely important; it could be the heart of their entire plan. The operation must be accelerated."

"Received," a team member responded in a low voice.

Lynn gestured for the team members to split up. He himself went around to the other side of the warehouse, from where he could approach the control center inside.

Inside the warehouse, Caleb's face was so dark it seemed to drip water. He wore a black tactical jacket, his eyes fierce, and he paced back and forth, a pistol in his hand. Several fully armed mercenaries stood beside him, while on the other side, a middle-aged man in a white lab coat appeared much more composed.

"Don't make me repeat myself," Caleb said in a low voice, his tone laced with murderous intent. "These goods must leave on time."

"Then tell your men to hurry up," the man in the lab coat replied coldly. "My work is done; now it's your turn."

Caleb was about to say something when suddenly, a low warning came through his earpiece: "There's movement. It sounds like someone's outside."

His expression changed instantly. He abruptly raised his head, his gaze sweeping like a hawk towards the warehouse entrance. His men quickly went on high alert, all their guns pointed at the warehouse entrance.

Lynn stood outside the door and took a deep breath. He knew the battle was about to begin.

"All units, take your positions," Lynn commanded in a low voice, his tone calm yet carrying a deadly resolve.

The door was kicked open, and gunshots rang out from inside the warehouse. Lynn rushed in first, firing two precise shots that instantly took out two guards.

"Go!" he roared, and the FBI team behind him immediately followed.

Bullets whizzed through the warehouse; Lynn's movements were too fast to follow. He fired as he went.

They advanced towards Caleb. Caleb, not to be outdone, raised his gun and returned fire, shouting, "Protect the cargo! Don't let them succeed!"

A chaotic battle broke out inside the warehouse, and the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder.

The night air was thick with the smell of gunpowder and a tense atmosphere. The gunfire inside the warehouse gradually subsided, and FBI agents were cleaning up the scene. The cargo crates were opened, revealing rows of transparent containers filled with unidentified liquids, along with a jumble of documents and equipment.

But Lynn had no interest in looking at those things. He stood at the warehouse door, his eyes sharp as a hawk's.

He stared at the black SUV speeding away at the other end of the dock. Hans's voice came through his earpiece: "Lynn, the target vehicle has been confirmed. Caleb is inside. He has two guards with him and is trying to escape the port."

"Keep an eye on him," Lynn replied coldly, quickly turning and running towards the FBI vehicle parked outside. He opened the door, slammed on the gas, and the black SUV roared off like a beast.

"Hans, pull up the traffic cameras around here," Lynn ordered through his headset while driving. "We have to block his escape routes. How many exits are there in Brooklyn? I need real-time updates."

"Retrieving the information." Hans's voice was busy, but remained calm. "There are two main exits to the north of Brooklyn, and Old Port Road to the south that leads to the highway. I've already notified two teams to intercept them."

"Too slow," Lynn said coldly, his eyes fixed on the distant target. "He's buying time; he may have already arranged for backup. We can't give him that chance."

Ahead, Caleb's SUV was recklessly weaving through the narrow port alleyways. He sat in the back, his face ashen, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous light.

"Shake them off!" he growled at the guard in the driver's seat, his voice filled with menace.

"We're doing our best!" The guard glanced back, his forehead covered in sweat. The FBI SUV was right behind them, and Lynn's driving skills were clearly putting them under immense pressure.

Caleb clenched his fists, gritting his teeth. "These bastards already know far too much. If I get caught, you know what will happen."

Another bodyguard in the front seat asked in a low voice, "Should we activate the 'emergency plan'?"

Caleb stared coldly at the rearview mirror, remained silent for a moment, then nodded. "Start it. But hurry up, I don't want to die at the hands of these agents."

The guard nodded, opened a metal box, and took out a small remote control. He quickly pressed the button, then rolled down the window and threw a metal can containing an unknown liquid out of the car.

The metal can traced an arc through the air before exploding with a bang. A cloud of thick white smoke immediately spread out, instantly engulfing the entire alleyway.

Lynn's SUV braked sharply to a stop, the air filtration system activating automatically, but the view outside the windows was completely blocked. He gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath, then quickly turned around and drove through another alley.

"Hans!" Lynn whispered, his voice icy. "They're using smoke as cover, trying to shake us off. I need location support."

"We've seen them," Hans responded quickly. "They're fleeing south towards Old Port Road."

The road leads to an abandoned highway, but there's a small dock nearby—perhaps where they would go if they planned to evacuate by sea.

Lynn tapped the steering wheel lightly with his fingers, a cold glint in his eyes. "Dockyard. Send reinforcements, but let me get there first."

"Understood," Hans replied firmly.

The black SUV burst through the thick smoke and sped towards the south side of the port. Their target was a small shipyard hidden deep within an abandoned dock, where the ships had long been secretly controlled by the Holy Blood Alliance. Once Caleb could board that ship, he could escape.

"Hurry up!" Caleb growled in a low voice, his fingers tapping incessantly on the armrest of the seat.

The bodyguard in the driver's seat gripped the steering wheel tightly, cold sweat beading on his forehead. "We're almost there, just one more minute—"

Before he could finish speaking, blinding headlights suddenly illuminated the end of the alleyway in the distance. It was Lynn's SUV.

He caught up with incredible speed, like a cheetah with its jaws firmly on its prey.

"Damn it, how did he get around here?!" the guard cursed, jerking the steering wheel to try and shake off Lynn.

A cold smile curled at the corner of Lynn's lips. He slammed on the gas pedal, and the SUV roared to life.

It slammed violently into the back of Caleb's SUV. The two vehicles collided violently in the alley, producing a screeching sound of metal scraping against metal.

Caleb was jolted forward by the impact. He gritted his teeth and shouted, "Fire! Don't let him catch up!"

The bodyguard in the passenger seat immediately raised an automatic pistol, leaned out of the window, and fired at Lynn's SUV. The bullets struck the windshield of Lynn's car, but the specially made bulletproof glass only cracked a few times.

Lynn's expression remained unchanged. He grabbed the pistol from the passenger seat, quickly rolled down the window, and fired two precise shots. The first hit the guard's shoulder, and the second knocked the weapon from his hand.

The guard cried out in pain and shrank back into the carriage, his face pale and blood seeping from between his fingers.

"Idiot!" Caleb roared, snatching the gun from the guard. "I'll do it!"

He leaned out the window, pointed his gun at Lynn's SUV, and coldly pulled the trigger. The bullet whizzed through the night, but Lynn had anticipated the move, jerking the steering wheel to swerve the car and dodge the shot.

At that moment, both vehicles had driven into the open space near the dock. Lynn slammed on the brakes, and the SUV came to a stop with a screeching sound of tires. He quickly jumped out of the car, aiming his gun at Caleb's SUV.

"Don't move!" Lynn growled, his voice seemingly piercing through the air.

But Caleb didn't stop. Instead, he jumped out of the car and sprinted toward the dock. He was incredibly fast, gun in hand, firing at Lynn as he ran.

Lynn chased after him without hesitation, his steps steady and powerful, each step precisely shortening the distance between them.

"Caesar!" Lynn growled. "You can't escape!"

Caleb turned and sneered, then suddenly stopped, raising his gun to point at Lynn. "You can try and see who's faster!"

Without hesitation, Lynn pulled the trigger, the bullet grazing Caleb's arm. Caleb's gun fell to the ground with a thud, he let out a muffled groan, clutching his bleeding arm, and collapsed to his knees.

Lynn rushed forward, kicked Caleb's gun away, pinned him to the ground, and snapped his wrist shut.

"The game is over," Lynn said in a low voice, his eyes as cold as ice. "Now it's your turn to speak."

Caleb was panting heavily, his eyes filled with anger and resentment. "You think you can stop everything by capturing me?"

"You can't change anything. The Holy Blood Alliance's plan has already begun—" Then you'd better pray we find the answer soon." Lynn pulled him up from the ground and said coldly, "Otherwise, you'll be the first to pay the price."

Meanwhile, an FBI reinforcement team arrived and sealed off the entire dock. Lynn handed Caleb over to Hans, his expression still cold.

The atmosphere in the FBI headquarters conference room that night was so heavy it was almost suffocating. Lynn stood by the table.

His hands were resting on the table, his expression cold and aloof. The chilling phone call he had just received still echoed in his ears. Although the call had ended, the other person's words were etched deeply into his mind like a knife carving.

"We know you've captured Caleb. He's important to us, and we know you feel the same way about your own colleagues." The voice on the other end of the phone was low, slow, and carried a chilling threat. "We have one of your men in our hands. If you want him to live, give Caleb back to us."

Lynn did not respond immediately, but clenched her fist.

"I'm giving you 24 hours to think it over. If you don't get an answer, your colleagues will pay the price." The person on the other end of the phone hung up without waiting for Lynn's response.

Lynn looked down at the table, his facial muscles tense as if they were about to explode. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

"Who is it?" Hans stood beside him, his expression equally grave. "Who did the Holy Blood Alliance capture?"

"Jansen." Lynn looked up, his eyes as cold as frozen seawater. "He was in charge of the perimeter surveillance yesterday. Clearly, they had this planned all along."

"Damn it," Hans muttered under his breath, "Jansen's a good man. He has a family, two kids..."

Lynn didn't respond. His gaze swept over the documents and maps on the table, his mind racing. He knew this was the Holy Blood Alliance testing him, but the problem was, he couldn't afford to make a single wrong move in this game.

Kate sat in the corner, her fists clenched, her face pale, but her eyes unusually determined. "Lynn, they captured Jason, which means they know we're closing in. This is their defensive counter-attack."

“This is not just a retaliation,” Lynn said coldly. “It’s a threat, a means of controlling the situation. They know we need Caleb, and they know we won’t easily sacrifice our comrades.”

"So what are you going to do?" Kate stared directly at him, a hint of anger in her voice. "You're not really considering handing Caleb over, are you?"

“I can’t.” Lynn’s answer was decisive and cold. He turned to stare at Kate, his eyes showing no sign of compromise. “Caller is currently our only key to unlocking the core of the Holy Blood Alliance. If we release him, we will lose everything—including the opportunity to get close to the Holy Blood Alliance.”

"And what about Jason?" Kate countered, her voice low but carrying an undeniable accusation. "You're just going to abandon him? Let him sacrifice himself for this operation?"

Lynn's expression remained unchanged, but his eyes flickered slightly. "I will not abandon anyone," he said, his voice deep yet powerful, "but I will not allow the Holy Blood Alliance to control this game. This matter must be handled my way."

Hans sighed, walked aside, and whispered orders to the communications officer, "Immediately pinpoint Jensen's last signal location, and mobilize all available surveillance and satellite imagery. We must find him."

Lynn glanced at Hans, then picked up the walkie-talkie on the table. "Notify all squads that we may face the worst-case scenario within the next 24 hours. Caleb must stay here; the intelligence he possesses is more important than anyone else's. But we also need to make sure Jason comes back alive."

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit basement within the Holy Blood Alliance's hidden stronghold, Jensen was bound to a metal chair. His face was streaked with blood, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes still held a stubborn, defiant glint.

In front of him stood a man in a black suit, holding a small stun gun.

A cruel smile played on his lips.

"Will your friends come to your rescue?" the man said in a low voice, his tone tinged with amusement and disdain.

Jason looked up, a forced, mocking smile playing on his lips. "What do you think?"

The man in black's face darkened. He stepped closer, pressed the stun gun against Jason's arm, and abruptly switched it on. A piercing crackling sound of electricity rang out, and Jason's body convulsed instantly, but he gritted his teeth and didn't utter a sound of pain.

"Being stubborn won't do you any good." The man put away the stun gun, a cold smile appearing on his face. "However,"

That doesn't matter. We just need you to live until they agree to our terms.

Gasping for breath and enduring the excruciating pain, Jason said in a low, hoarse voice, "You will never win."

The man snorted coldly and said nothing more. He turned and walked out of the room, leaving Jason alone, tied to the chair.

In the early hours of the morning, Lynn stood in the interrogation room, with Caleb sitting on the table in front of him. Although his hands were tied behind his back in the chair, Caleb's expression remained calm, even carrying a hint of mocking smile.
