After several days of reconnaissance and preparation, Lynn and Mark led their elite team stealthily towards the target area. Intelligence indicated that the security measures at Base Two were more stringent than any base they had previously dealt with. The enemy was no longer relying solely on security personnel and surveillance equipment; they had also deployed mutant agents with extraordinary sensory abilities and combat skills, capable of silently eliminating anyone attempting to infiltrate.

Despite this, Lynn and Mark were not intimidated. Past operations had given them a wealth of experience, and they knew that only precise planning and coordination could ensure mission success. They decided to launch a night raid, approaching from multiple directions simultaneously to completely suppress the enemy's ability to retaliate.

"Before the operation begins, make sure everyone knows the evacuation route," Lynn whispered to his squad members. "If anything happens, prioritize safety and don't let the enemy disrupt our plans."

As night fell, Lynn led his squad silently infiltrating the base's perimeter. Moonlight filtered through the trees, casting shadows on them, but they remained discreet and silent. Lynn led his team through dense forests, each member following closely behind him, their gazes grave and their breathing shallow and steady. Though the surrounding forest was tranquil, every inch of ground was fraught with potential danger.

After a long period of infiltration and maneuvering, they finally reached the outer perimeter of the base, ready to launch a surprise attack. This time, they didn't rely on a direct assault, but instead used technical means to find weaknesses within the base. A damaged communications tower became their planned entry point. According to Lynn's calculations, the tower's power system was connected to the security system; destroying it would temporarily disrupt the base's communications, providing the team with more room to maneuver.

"We're close to the target." Lynn confirmed with Mark and the other team members through the headset. "Get ready, begin the plan."

Lynn walked towards the tower, carefully observing his surroundings through his binoculars. Despite the enemy's heavy defenses, Lynn had a thorough understanding of their deployment thanks to their prior reconnaissance and intelligence analysis. He saw security personnel changing shifts near the tower, and the surrounding power and communication lines appeared to be loose. Without hesitation, Lynn swiftly issued the order: "Move! Suppress the enemy."

The squad members swiftly carried out orders, with several members approaching the target from different directions, using smoke grenades and electromagnetic interference devices to lure the enemy away. Meanwhile, Lynn and Mark quickly moved to the communications tower to prepare to sabotage the power system.

"Are you ready?" Mark asked in a low voice.

"Activate," Lynn responded, and then placed the explosive device under the base of the tower.

With a faint "click," the explosive device was successfully activated. The lower part of the communications tower began to shake violently, followed by a loud explosion, and a shockwave swept outwards. The tower shook violently, and then a burst of intense flames and thick smoke rose into the air, instantly throwing the surrounding security personnel into chaos.

"We've succeeded!" Mark gripped his weapon tightly. "Now, the enemy will be drawn to us. We have enough time to break through."

Lynn didn't pause, signaling his team to continue. They quickly rushed into the base, heading towards the control room where Alex was. Lynn knew that the key to this operation was to seize control of the base's command center as soon as possible, preventing the enemy from sending out distress signals or organizing a counterattack.

They moved silently through underground tunnels, avoiding external enemies and surveillance. As they approached the control room, Lynn checked the personnel configuration on the monitors. A senior commander was monitoring the screens, and several security personnel were on guard. Lynn nodded to Mark, and the two quickly devised a plan of action.

"We need a precise attack to make sure we suppress them," Lynn whispered. "Mark, you lead the team to flank from the left, and I'll lead the men to break through from the right."

Mark and Lynn exchanged a determined look, then swiftly sprang into action. They led their respective squads towards the control room from two directions. When they were less than ten meters away, Lynn waved, and his team launched a simultaneous attack.

Within seconds, the security personnel in the control room had almost no time to react before being swiftly taken down. Lynn led his team into the control room, and by the time the commander reacted, it was too late. Lynn kicked open the door and quickly pointed his gun at them.

"Don't move, stay calm!" Lynn commanded, his voice calm yet authoritative. "Your plan ends here."

The commander, clearly realizing the gravity of the situation, hastily raised his hands, attempting to signal for cooperation. "You can't stop us! Alex will be here to rescue us soon! Everything you're doing is in vain!"

Lynn sneered, "If you think Alex can save you, then you're sorely mistaken."

While directing his team to subdue the commander, he swiftly destroyed the communication equipment in the control room, ensuring the enemy could not send out distress signals. With all equipment shut down, the experimental organization's command system at this base was completely destroyed.

However, Lynn knew that this was far from over. The enemy's main forces were still operating in other areas of the base, and their mission was not yet complete. Alex remained their ultimate target.

"This is just the beginning," Lynn told his team. "We must find Alex as soon as possible and destroy the rest of the facilities."

With the command center successfully under control, Lynn led his team deeper into the base. Using a map, they quickly pinpointed Alex's likely location—a secret laboratory deep underground. Intelligence indicated that Alex was directly involved in some key mutant experiments, and he might be directing the final counterattack from here.

Along the way, they encountered more enemies, but Lynn and Mark's team gradually adapted to the enemy's tactics. With their excellent teamwork and composure, they successfully broke through one defense line after another. Finally, they reached the entrance to the laboratory.

Alex already knew their movements, and when Lynn and his team stormed into the lab, he was ready for a final stand. The lab was filled with unfinished experimental samples and imprisoned mutants, and a strong stench of blood permeated the air.

Alex stood before the experimental table, coldly looking at Lynn: "You think you can destroy us? You're wrong. Daedalus's plan is far beyond your comprehension. All of you are just a small episode in this grand experiment."

Lynn stared at him coldly, her eyes unwavering: "Your experiments are built on the suffering of countless innocent lives; you will never win a true victory."

A flash of anger crossed Alex's eyes. He slammed the button, activating the lab's self-destruct mechanism. The base's blast doors began to close, plunging the entire base into complete lockdown.

"You're too late!" Alex roared. "You can never stop me!"

Lynn quickly assessed the situation and ordered his team to immediately destroy the critical equipment in the laboratory. After a fierce firefight and destruction, the laboratory's systems were completely paralyzed, and Alex's plan ultimately failed.

"Target destroyed," Lynn announced. "Evacuate!"

They swiftly withdrew from the base, successfully bringing back all the experimental organization's crucial data and evidence, and completely destroyed this critical facility. Although Alex was not yet fully captured, Lynn knew they were getting closer and closer to ending this struggle completely.

After successfully destroying the second base, Lynn and his team finally had a brief respite. The complete destruction of the base not only dealt a major blow to the experimental organization but also strengthened Lynn's resolve to continue the investigation. However, although their mission was not yet fully complete, both he and Mark knew that Alan's parents, Catherine and George, were finally free. At that moment, Lynn felt not the joy of victory, but a heavy sense of responsibility and emotional relief.

A few days later, Lynn, Catherine, and George flew back to Manhattan. With their help, Catherine and George, after several days of adjustment, finally regained some composure. Despite the years of suffering from experimental control and genetic modification, it had not destroyed their will, especially George, whose eyes remained filled with resilience and hope.

During the flight, Catherine and George expressed their deepest gratitude to Lynn. Catherine gently said to Lynn, "Lynn, you gave us a chance to start over. We can feel the air of freedom again, and it's all thanks to you."

George patted Lynn on the shoulder: "You not only saved us, but you also gave us a sense of home. You said we weren't alone, and I've always remembered that."

Lynn listened quietly, a warmth spreading through him. He knew that Catherine and George's ordeal was far more painful than he could comprehend, and that their lives and their future would require time to heal. He couldn't fully express the gratitude Catherine and George felt for Lynn, but he knew that helping them escape danger and bringing them back to their families was the thing he was most proud of.

As the plane landed, Lynn's anxiety rose. Catherine and George soon learned that Allen was already waiting for their return in Manhattan. As they emerged from airport security, Lynn saw a young man pacing anxiously in the departure lounge—it was Allen. Despite not seeing him for months, Lynn recognized him instantly from his eyes.

Alan's gaze was complex and deep. He looked up and saw Catherine and George walking out of the airport. He immediately quickened his pace, and the tense expression on his face gradually transformed into a long-lost smile. When Catherine saw Alan, she couldn't help but run over and hug him tightly. George also stepped forward and patted Alan on the back. In each other's embrace, the two rediscovered the long-lost bond of family.

Lynn stood not far away, watching this scene, her heart filled with complex emotions. Everyone's eyes were filled with tears, but not sadness, but the joy of a long-awaited reunion. Alan whispered, "Dad, Mom, I've finally found you."

With tears in her eyes, Catherine looked up at her son, Alan: "Alan, we're all back. Thank you for waiting for us, thank you for never giving up."

George looked at Alan with deep affection, his voice hoarse: "My child, my heart has never stopped beating for you. Now, I can finally tell you that we are no longer powerless; we have returned."

Allen grasped his parents' hands, tears finally welling up in his eyes: "You're back, just like my dream since I was a child."

Catherine hugged Allen tightly and whispered softly, "We may have missed too many years, but today, we will make up for it together and start anew."

This heartwarming reunion seemed to allow Lynn to feel the most genuine power in life. He had always known that his work was not just about pursuing justice and truth, but also about helping these families rediscover lost kinship and rebuild their lives. However, at this moment, he felt not only the satisfaction of completing his mission, but also the true salvation of these innocent people. All the hard work and sacrifices seemed to become worthwhile in that instant.

Alan turned around and saw Lynn standing not far away, quietly watching their reunion. Lynn's gaze wasn't overly sentimental; he simply nodded gently, his eyes warm and deep. Alan walked over, looked up, and said with boundless gratitude, "Lynn, you're not just my savior, you're our family's hero. Without you, there would be no today. You saved my parents; I can never repay you."

Lynn smiled slightly and waved his hand: "Allen, there's no need to say that. It's my greatest honor to be able to help you. Your family reunion is the most important thing."

Tears welled in Allen's eyes as he gripped Lynn's hand tightly once more: "I will never forget everything you've done for me. Your love and support for my family are gratitude I can't express in words. From now on, no matter what happens, you'll always be our friend, and we'll always remember you."

A warm feeling welled up in Lynn's heart. He looked deeply at Allen, a hint of tenderness flashing in his eyes: "I will stay by your side until you are completely free."

Catherine came over and gently patted Lynn's shoulder: "Lynn, thank you, really." Her eyes were still filled with tears, but those tears were tears of joy, tears lit up by hope.

Lynn sensed the sincerity in her words and whispered, "Catherine, you don't need to thank me. My greatest wish is for you to be reunited."

George, standing to the side, finally couldn't help but wipe his eyes: "We are destined never to have the chance to thank you in person, but please always remember what you have done for us; our whole family will never forget it."

In that instant, Lynn felt a power he had never experienced before. (End of Chapter)
