Hughes was extremely distressed. He hadn't expected the old frost elf to give him such a rip-off, disappearing on its own first.

The two sides were deadlocked, and Hughes realized that a formal wizard and a third-class wizard apprentice were on their way. A single spell from the other side could kill Hughes instantly without harming the frost elf girl.

The frost elves had arrived, and just as Hughes was about to take the frost elf girl hostage and retreat, a majestic and cold voice suddenly appeared, saving Hughes.

"This is a distinguished guest from Everfrost Spire, please don't neglect him."

No sooner had the words been spoken than the owner of the voice appeared behind Hughes.

The owner of the voice gradually approached Hughes, a few strands of snow-white hair draped over Hughes's shoulder. Hughes dared not move. This was a formal wizard, and the most imposing of all the first-level wizards he had ever seen.

The frost elves who had already arrived, as well as the frost elf boys and girls from before, were all shocked when they saw the newcomer. They put away their weapons and bowed slightly in respect.

"Chieftain!!" "Sister Shirinville!"

A slender, white hand gently rested on Hughes' left shoulder, while the other hand gently rested on his right hand, which held the ice dagger. With a light squeeze, Hughes felt the soft touch of the delicate hand even more clearly.

"Splash—"

The ice dagger shattered into ice shards and fell to the ground. The fair hands left Hughes, and Hughes consciously released the frost elf girl from his arms. The girl quickly ran into the arms of the second-class wizard apprentice girl from before.

Shireenville walked past Hughes and came to the elves, saying, "Everyone, go back first. All the formal wizards, wait for me in front of the Ice Breath Tree. And you four, stay here."

Upon hearing this, the elves dispersed, while the four who had clashed with Hughes remained where they were, awaiting Shirinville's judgment.

Shireenville turned around, and Hughes finally saw her face clearly. She was tall and slender, with a graceful figure and fair and delicate skin, like a fairy in the snow.

Her long white hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, smooth and shiny, each strand seemingly shimmering with a faint silver light, and adorned with accessories made of tiny ice crystals and blue flowers.

Her face was exquisite, and her icy blue pupils were like a deep, cold ice lake. These beautiful pupils were now staring at the boy in front of her, as if she had already seen through him.

"Keller and the others are responsible for guarding the Frostwhisper Gate, and no other race has ever entered our Leviathan. So although they acted impulsively, it was their duty. Please understand, and I will have them apologize to you."

As soon as he finished speaking, the four of them stepped forward and gave Hughes a wizard's salute, saying, "I'm sorry x4."

The four stepped back and then said:

"My name is Shireenville Erian, and I am the leader of this frost elf village. I had some business to attend to earlier, so please forgive me for not being able to arrive in time."

"He said it, but there was no hint of apology in his voice," Hughes thought to himself. However, he, a mere second-class wizard apprentice, could not afford an apology from a formal wizard.

"Hughes Craig, a second-class wizarding apprentice at the Everfrost Spire and a disciple of the mid-level potion master Seofina Canningt, is honored to meet Lady Shireenville."

Hughes performed a wizard's salute as a sign of respect, and casually invoked the title of his mentor, Serafina, to intimidate the frost elf leader before him.

"Then please come with me, Lord Hughes. There are some things we need to discuss. The four of you continue to keep watch; things haven't been peaceful lately," Shireenville said calmly, turning around, seemingly unconcerned about Hughes's identity.

"Yes, x4." After the four finished speaking, they returned to their previous hiding place. The frost elf girl walked to Hughes' side, bent down to pick up the scimitar that had just fallen to the ground, and gave Hughes a light glare before leaving.

……

Hughes followed behind Shireenville, observing the scene along the way.

Although Levis is isolated, it has everything one could need. Fist-sized, pale blue lights float high above the village, providing excellent lighting and warmth.

Hughes wondered if he should do some research so that he wouldn't be afraid of the cold wind next time.

Along the way, everywhere you looked there were small trees about two people tall, covered with blue oval fruits, which were the dried rations that Hughes had found on the fallen frost elves.

Some frost elves dressed as farmers waved their hands gently, and the blue fruits on the trees fell neatly into the baskets on the ground; it seemed that this was their main food.

Although the buildings along the roadside are mainly made of simple wooden leaves, they are built in an elegant and unique style, with one or two shops and blacksmith shops among them.

The frost elf residents along the roadside respectfully made way for their leader, while some of the younger frost elves looked at Hughes, this outcast, with curiosity.

They had never interacted with wizards outside the Ice Ridge Mountains and Everfrost Spire, nor had they ever left Leviathan, so naturally they were curious about other races.

Hughes noticed that most of the frost elves here wore clothing made of some kind of plant fiber, even the leader's robe was made of it; the others were probably traded with the Everfrost Spire.

However, what surprised Hughes the most was that there were miners here. They were pushing mine carts and moving the ore from the carts into a large warehouse. It seemed that the frost elves had developed quite a few mines here.

Moreover, the sharp-eyed Hughes also spotted a cartload of magic stone ore. It seems the Frost Elves have discovered a precious magic stone vein. No wonder Bohr said that the Frost Elves look simple on the surface, but are actually rolling in wealth.

Everfrost Spire has also developed many mineral veins in the mineral-rich Ice Ridge Mountains. Some of the academy's permanent missions involve guarding ore collection points. The miners are slaves of various races from all over the world. However, some special and precious ores are still handled by wizard apprentices.

After walking for a while, Hughes and Shireenville finally arrived at the Frozen Breath Tree she had mentioned earlier. It was a tall ancient tree, much shorter than the Tree of Life, but probably the second tallest tree here.

What's most peculiar is its leaves, which exude a dense, icy blue chill. Beside the Frozen Breath Tree is a huge round wooden table, surrounded by frost elf wizards, all of them formal wizards; this must be where the frost elf leaders hold their meetings.

Upon seeing the newcomer, all the elves stood up. They were not curious about Hughes's arrival, clearly already knowing the whole story.

"I've already sent Jos to Icefang Peak, Uncle, you don't need to worry."

Shireenville took the main seat, the most ornate and exquisite chair closest to the Frozen Breath Tree. The other frost elves followed suit, while Hughes, at Shireenville's prompting, sat opposite her.
