Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 614 The Chief of the Soul System?
The world of Sacred Marks, the center of a goblin city.
The houses here have been replaced with alloy frame structures, and magical streetlights stand along the roadside, with a constant stream of pedestrians coming and going.
In front of a car dealership, a goblin engineer is explaining something to several humans from the Source Realm:
"This is called a magic engine. It burns magic stones and when installed on a magic vehicle, it's ten times faster than a horse-drawn carriage."
"How much cargo can you transport?" the human merchant asked.
"A standard truck can carry twenty tons," the goblin engineer said, patting the truck bed. "You couldn't catch up even with ten horses."
The people around them marveled.
This magical vehicle is indeed much more convenient than a track vehicle. It is not restricted by tracks and can travel freely as long as the road is flat.
The only drawback is that it requires magic stones, which is too costly.
The various "dungeons" in the goblin world are equally bustling with activity.
The goblins developed these instances into instances with different functions based on their attributes and properties.
In a fire-attribute dungeon, a group of young goblins are practicing fireball spells while wearing protective suits.
They didn't have much magical talent, but with the focusing device made by the goblins, they managed to blast the fire elemental ten meters away.
In some Holy Light-themed dungeons, there are large groups of mages, paladins, and other similar classes training.
Through continuous exploration, the various races of the Origin Realm have discovered the effects of these "Demon Gates" and have begun to utilize these "dungeons".
Dwarves prefer metal-attribute dungeons, elves often go to wood-attribute dungeons, while gray dwarves and orcs like to enter gravity-attribute dungeons to train their bodies.
Meanwhile, at the joint conference of human nations, a meeting about "division" is underway.
The meeting was held in a newly built council hall, with representatives from more than a dozen human kingdoms sitting around a long table.
Leading them are the three largest human kingdoms in the Origin Realm.
"Our Northern Kingdom wishes to increase the quota of 'Spiritwood' from the Monster Forest," a representative said.
"The timber is fine, but the Demon Hunter team can't be entirely under your control; some of it must be allocated to you."
Another representative banged on the table, "The number of wild animals in the forest has decreased recently, but they've become more ferocious. We need to work together to wipe them out."
"The goblins have invented a new type of explosive bomb, and it's not expensive," the third representative said. "We want to purchase it in large quantities, but we need parliamentary approval."
"Purchasing is fine, but distribution must be centralized. Don't let the mercenary groups run rampant; they're a bunch of people who only care about money."
"We've advanced thirty miles along the eastern front of the Warcraft Forest." A man in military uniform stood up. "The pioneering teams from all three kingdoms have reached the foot of the mountain. The next step is to build outposts."
"The goblin representative said he was willing to use timber and animal materials from the next thirty years to settle the debt in hopes of obtaining a share of the rare resources in the heart of the Warcraft Forest."
"They certainly know how to do business."
...
Lynn stepped out of the world of the Holy Mark and reappeared in his laboratory.
Outside the window, the sky over the Eternal Night Graveyard remained a dark purple.
The communication slab suddenly began to buzz.
He picked it up and saw that it was Cersei's frequency.
He channeled his spiritual energy, and Sersi's languid voice came from within the stone slab: "Come to my office. It's about you killing Malfa."
Lynn put away the stone slab and went out the door.
They arrived at the Bone Spire, and when they reached the door to Cersei's office, the door opened by itself.
There was no one else in the office.
Cersei sat in a high-backed chair, holding a crystal glass in her hand, the dark red wine inside swirling gently.
She wasn't wearing a formal robe today, but only a dark purple long dress, which made her look exceptionally elegant.
Lynn felt a sense of relief.
Judging from the master's wife's attitude, things should be fine now.
He stepped forward and bowed respectfully: "Master's wife."
"Sit down." Cersei raised her chin, took out a wine glass, poured him half a glass of red wine, and said, "Sip it slowly."
Lynn sat down opposite him, took the glass of wine, and took a small sip.
Upon tasting the wine, a rich aroma unfolds on the tongue, followed by a hazy, intoxicating sensation that rushes into the mind.
He was somewhat surprised that his mid-level Saint Mark spiritual power had become slightly tipsy from just a sip of wine.
This wine is extraordinary.
"Master's wife, what is this wine made of?" Lynn asked.
"Abyssal Blood Grapes, with a touch of Nightmare Pollen." Cersei took a sip as well.
"I usually can't bear to drink it."
"Good wine." Lynn took another sip.
Cersei put down her glass, speaking casually:
"The academy has thoroughly investigated and found that the recording stone is not problematic, the chain of evidence is complete, and Marfa is indeed guilty of colluding with the enemy to kill his own holy marks."
She paused, looking at Lynn: "Your guilt has been cleared. From today onwards, your movements will no longer be restricted, and you can freely enter and leave the academy."
Lynn felt much relieved, but maintained a composed expression: "Thank you, Master's wife."
"Why thank me? It's because your evidence is solid, otherwise we would have had to go through all that trouble." Cersei swirled her wine glass.
"By the way, what did the Marfa Heritage Academy say?" Lynn asked. "Is it all mine to inherit?"
Cersei nodded: "Yes, you can inherit her contribution points, the materials in the laboratory, and her knowledge of the soul, but the academy needs to make a backup of the knowledge portion."
Lynn was overjoyed. It seemed the academy was quite generous; Marfa's legacy was a huge resource.
As for backup knowledge, it doesn't matter, since many of Malfa's research projects are supported by the academy's resources.
"There's one more condition," Cersei said, looking at him.
Lynn put down her glass: "What are the conditions?"
Sersi said, "In inheriting everything from Marfa, you will also inherit her position as the chief mentor of the soul system."
Lynn frowned slightly.
Inheriting the chief position means power, but also considerable constraints and responsibilities.
"Master's wife, what exactly does the chief of the Soul Department need to do?" Lynn asked.
Cersei held up one finger:
"First, to command all mentors and apprentices in the Soul System."
"Second, submit at least one research result or new knowledge related to the soul to the academy every three years."
"Third, maintain the order of the Soul System and handle internal affairs of the system."
She then extended her fourth finger.
"Fourth, when the academy is threatened, you need to go all out."
Fifth, recruit at least three outstanding apprentices every five years and personally teach them.
"Furthermore, the allocation of resources within the Soul Department, recommendations for the appointment and removal of mentors, and the approval of major projects all require your involvement."
Cersei added.
After hearing this, Lynn felt completely overwhelmed.
He has always hated trouble and prefers to grow stronger quietly on his own. With so many responsibilities weighing on him, he's afraid there won't be a moment of peace in the future.
"Master's wife, as you know, I like to travel all over the country and can't stay in the academy."
Lynn said with a wry smile.
"Besides, I'm really not good at teaching students. I've been through a lot of trial and error myself, so how could I possibly mentor someone?"
