Daryl vaguely recounted Sofia's daily life in the small town.

Carroll rested his chin on his hand, drinking as he listened to Daryl's ramblings, and sighed softly.

"Won't Sofia be bored in town without me?"

Daryl chuckled, and Carol looked over, amused. "What? Did I say something wrong?"

"Sophia's having so much fun while you're away! She goes to see her friends every day, and nobody's stopping her. How could she possibly be bored!"

Daryl revealed the truth.

Carol smiled helplessly. Yes, kids will have a lot of fun without adults watching over them. They're never bored.

After chatting for a while, Carol got down to business.

"Andrea has made a major discovery. She found a secret door in the governor's office, and she's pretty sure it leads to the governor's daughter, Penny."

Daryl sat up straight, tilted his head forward, and listened attentively to Carol's story.

"Andrea said the governor was feeding his daughter inside, and the eating noise was very loud."

"This is strange." Daryl noticed something was wrong immediately.

Carol raised an eyebrow and nodded in agreement. "I also felt something was wrong, so I thought of one possibility: Penny is dead."

"Hmm." Daryl's eyes gleamed with thought. "That explains it. There was probably still a smell of blood at the time, which Andrea overlooked."

"That's right, this is very common. Parents can't accept the loss of their children and raise them as zombies."

Carol continued, "A dimly lit room, consistent with the living environment of walkers, that should be it."

"Okay, go on."

Carol slowly stood up, took a plate of cookies from the kitchen, placed it on the table, and gestured to Daryl to try some.

Daryl didn't understand what Carol meant, but he casually picked up a cookie and stuffed it into his mouth.

"At parties, we'll put out some snacks, like cookies and cakes."

Daryl ate the freshly baked cookies, taking a bite and glancing at them, as if to say, "How can they be so delicious?"

"I'll put some spiced cookies at the party; that will help our operation."

Hearing this, Daryl had already figured it out. He glanced at the cookies in front of him and mechanically turned to look at Carol.

It's as if it's asking, "Don't tell me there's something in this cookie."

Carol chuckled mischievously. "The one you're eating doesn't have that. You can eat it without worry."

Daryl was relieved.

"Should we just raid the governor's office?" Daryl asked.

Woodbury’s most recent big event was a party that brought together almost everyone in Woodbury.

They're definitely going to carry out a terrorist attack to make the people of Woodbury sweat and understand that the governor can't protect them.

As for the location of the attack, it certainly couldn't be at the event site; too many people would die, and taking Woodbury would be less of a benefit.

Carroll thought for a moment and said, "Actually, it's not just the governor's office, there's another place."

"where?"

"The factory building, the one behind Woodbury that was used as a gladiatorial arena, should have imprisoned someone there."

"I've often seen people bringing food to the factory lately. The factory usually holds the zombies that are brought in, and there are very few people there. Even if there are people, they are killed very quickly."

"But this time is different. The governor has kept this person around for a long time. I suspect that this person is very capable or knows something."

Carroll shared his guess, his gaze fixed on Daryl.

Daryl is her superior and has the authority to make decisions. As long as she can persuade Daryl, Caesar will not reject her plan.

Daryl pondered for a moment, then said, "I don't think it's worth the risk of dealing with just an unknown person."

"It's not just this person, it's also an excuse." Carol knew Daryl well and knew this was Daryl's way of giving in, so she quickly added more chips.

"We disguised ourselves as coming in for a surprise attack in order to rescue this person. We framed his group for going to the governor's office to find his daughter, which would directly sever ties with us and allow the other side to shift their focus."

"This is very advantageous for us."

Daryl thought about it and agreed. As long as the blame was shifted, the governor, that madman, would definitely go insane because of his daughter's death and would quickly distance himself from them.

Then Andrea and Carol will be able to do things more safely in Woodbury.

"Okay, I agree with your plan, but I still need to go back and discuss it with Caesar. I'll give you an answer in a few days."

"Okay." Carol said with delight, "But we have to hurry, the party is only a few days away."

Packing some cookies made by Carol, Daryl left Woodbury overnight, mounted his horse, and hurried toward Yellowstone.

……

Yellowstone, the sky is hazy, as if a veil has been added to the world.

knock knock --

Caesar, his muscular upper body bare, opened the door of the stone house.

Outside the door stood Daryl, who had just returned from his journey.

Daryl's shoulder-length hair was wet with dew, making him look travel-worn, and his face showed undeniable fatigue.

"Come in and talk."

Caesar knew what was going on as soon as he saw Daryl's expression, and turned to Daryl to speak.

Leading Daryl towards the study, she saw Amy, dressed, emerge from the bedroom. She looked at Daryl, but sensibly didn't ask anything, and turned to walk into the kitchen.

Upon entering the study, Caesar pointed to the sofa and said, "Sit down, let's calm down first."

Sitting on the sofa, Daryl let out a long sigh of relief, his whole body relaxing.

Seeing his expression, Caesar chuckled and scolded, "You don't seem to be in such a hurry. You're disturbing my sleep so early in the morning. Couldn't you have come later?"

"I have something to do later." Daryl shrugged, glancing at the coffee table in front of him.

The fruit bowl on the coffee table was empty, and there were no snacks or anything else on it.

"Come on, eat this."

Just then, the study door opened, and Amy walked in carrying a plate.

A steaming bowl of noodles was placed in front of Daryl. "I just made it. Enjoy your meal. Here's a fork."

Looking at the steaming noodles, Daryl felt his throat bob and his saliva involuntarily secreted incessantly.

"Eat up, don't be so polite."

Amy brought over a shirt and was putting it on Caesar, but Caesar waved his hand, telling Daryl to eat quickly.

Daryl picked up his fork, lifted his bowl, and quickly ate the noodles.

Glug glug—

A few minutes later, after finishing a large bowl of noodles, Daryl's complexion became rosy, and he patted his belly with a comfortable expression.

Seeing that Daryl had finished eating, Amy stepped forward to take the plate, smiled at Caesar, and said, "You two talk, I'm going to wash the dishes."

After saying that, Amy closed the study door and went to the kitchen.
