Maggie's fair face flushed red. She glanced at Hershel, ran down the corridor, grabbed her clothes, and put them on.

Glenn, who remained behind, was incredibly embarrassed. His toes curled together as he slowly raised his right hand. "Hershel, well... um!"

After saying hello, Glenn turned and walked into the corridor.

Hershel coughed twice before noticing a puddle of water on the table. He put down the teapot and began wiping the table.

Beth raised an eyebrow and murmured, "Wow, my sister and brother-in-law are so wild."

"What did you say?" Hershel didn't hear clearly and pressed for an answer.

"It's nothing, it's nothing." Beth smiled sweetly and shook her head repeatedly.

Hershel's mind wasn't on Beth, and she had no interest in asking any further questions.

Soon, Glenn and Maggie, dressed, entered the living room.

Although Maggie's face was red, she still sat on the sofa with ease, while Glenn was extremely reserved, with his legs turned inward and his eyes darting around, like a bride visiting for the first time.

Hershel glanced at Glenn, poured them both a cup of tea, and asked, "Nothing happened on this mission, right?"

"No, it went very smoothly," Maggie answered quickly.

She glanced at Glenn, who knew Maggie didn't want Hershel to worry, so he didn't say anything more.

After chatting for a while, the atmosphere became really awkward and didn't ease at all.

Glenn stood up, bid farewell to Hershel, and said, "Well then, I'll be going now."

"Okay, sure." Hershel also wanted to persuade him to stay, and his eyes were filled with resentment as he looked at Glenn.

As I reached the door, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Glenn opened the door in surprise, and standing there was Morales.

Morales was taken aback, not expecting the Hershel family to be standing at the door. He bowed slightly and said, "I have orders from the boss."

Morales looked at Glenn and Maggie, "These are your orders."

Glenn and Maggie exchanged a glance, realizing this was a combat mission.

After standing there for a while, Morales didn't mention any specific combat missions, but just looked at Hershel.

"Then let's retreat for now." Hershel saw the look in Morales' eyes and immediately realized that he shouldn't know about this mission.

At the same time, Herschel became worried, fearing that Maggie might be in danger.

Beth pouted, thinking about Caesar's domineering manner; he was getting more and more arrogant in Yellowstone.

After Hershel and Beth disappeared from sight, Morales began to recount the mission.

The mission is for the two men and their team to enter Woodbury and rescue the mysterious man.

"This person's gender, age, and ethnicity are unknown. All we know is that he is being held captive in a factory. You need to be very careful. If he doesn't cooperate, you can give him a sedative or knock him out."

"Complete the mission while ensuring the safety of your life."

After Morales finished speaking, he looked at the two of them and asked, "Are you willing to accept the mission?"

Glenn nodded without hesitation and said, "I'll take the mission, but..."

He looked at Maggie's abdomen; she had just been injured that day.

"It's alright, this injury will heal quickly and won't hinder the mission." Maggie smiled and waved her hand quickly.

Morales, being well-informed, knew that Maggie was injured and said, "Maggie can go to the hospital for treatment. The hospital has massage therapists who can help Maggie recover quickly."

"Really? Thank you so much."

"Alright, now that you've accepted the mission, focus on your preparations these next few days. You don't need to go out on any other missions. I have to find other teams, so goodbye."

"Bye-Bye."

After saying goodbye to Morales, Glenn also left Hershel's house to go find his teammates.

Herschel's house, living room.

"You've decided on him?" Hershel looked at Maggie in surprise.

Maggie nodded without hesitation. "I've decided on him. I will marry him."

Hershel pursed her lips, her expression complex. "Are you sure he'll marry you?"

"Of course." Maggie believed it wholeheartedly.

Seeing Maggie's determined look, Hershel knew that Maggie had completely fallen in love with that boy.

After a long pause, Hershel sighed, his voice sounding much older, "Alright, alright, bring him to see me when you have time later."

Herschel pulled a pocket watch from his pocket. The watch was exquisite, with a silver case connected to a chain that bore the marks of time.

"Next time I'll give this pocket watch to him and tell him to treat you well."

Maggie was slightly taken aback when she saw the pocket watch Herschel pulled out. She knew that Herschel already considered Glenn as family.

Beth, sitting next to him, was also drawn to the pocket watch, which was her father's beloved possession and was to be given to her sister's future husband.

What about her husband?

Beth's gaze gradually lost itself, and suddenly the image of Caesar appeared in her mind.

If I get married, what will my father give me?

Beth suddenly snapped out of her reverie, her pretty face flushing red. Why had she thought of Caesar?

This, this, this...

Beth glanced guiltily at Hershel and Maggie, but thankfully their minds were focused on the pocket watch and they didn't notice the change in Beth's expression.

The days that followed were much more uneventful.

Hershel and Beth went back to work in the plantation.

On this day, Caesar, on a whim, set off for Herschel's plantation.

The plantation area was converted from a large pasture and also included part of the mountain range.

There are many fruit trees on the mountain, mostly peach trees, which were transplanted directly from Green Farm.

Down the mountain lies the area where staple foods and vegetables are grown.

It had been a long time since Caesar had last visited the planting area, and as soon as he got out of the car, he saw the completely renovated planting area.

The wind rustles through the wheat fields, which stand proudly on the land. Beside them lies a vast cornfield, which has been planted not long ago and is still some time away from ripening.

But just by looking at it, Caesar could feel the security that came from the food, and he sighed.

"Food is life."

Most external forces still rely on scavenging for food, picking up items from peacetime for consumption.

A year has passed since the apocalypse, and most of the food produced in peacetime has expired. Not to mention eating it, much of it has completely rotted.

Food expires much faster than the remaining human population consumes it.

The longer the apocalypse lasts, the more likely a new period of order will emerge after the initial period of barbaric development.

In the future, self-sufficiency will be a very important factor in judging whether a force is powerful.

Even Omaha, which is on par with Philadelphia and Portland, was destroyed by CRM's chlorine gas simply because it ate too much of Philadelphia's food.

Perhaps, in the future, we can form an alliance with Omaha to fight against CRM together.

Caesar's mind was wandering when a sweet voice pulled him back to reality.

"Boss, what are you doing in our planting area?"
