Liu Xiangyang put away the pills and had just sat down by the bed when the courtyard gate was pushed open.

Upon hearing the sound, he instinctively scanned the area with his mental energy. Xue Bingbing was walking into the courtyard, carrying a cloth bag, and her steps were faster than usual.

He glanced at his watch; it was just four o'clock, still a long way from the end of the workday.

"Xiangyang? Are you home?" Xue Bingbing's voice came from the courtyard.

Roland, arms crossed, leaned against the doorframe and said slowly, "Is Inspector Liu holding an awards ceremony? Are we late?"
