The old doctor shuddered as he looked into Jack's almost sickly eyes.

"Do as you please, but if you move around in pain and rupture a major blood vessel, I won't be responsible."

Copeport couldn't bear to watch any longer; just seeing the tweezers approach the rolled-up flesh made his stomach churn.

"I'll go outside and keep watch."

Cobbett said a few words, turned around, opened the iron door of the infirmary, and fled into the corridor.

As the door closed, only the chill of an icebox remained inside the medical room.

The old doctor inserted the tweezers directly into the wound.

"Well!"

Jack snorted and bit down hard on the towel the old doctor offered him.

Sweat mixed with rain and blood streamed down his forehead.

The metal tweezers stirred through the flesh and blood, searching for the brass bullet lodged in the bone.

A sharp pain shot through Jack's brain, and his body began to tremble uncontrollably.

He rolled his eyes several times, nearly dying from the pain.

"Found it." The old doctor was covered in sweat, his tweezers gripping the slippery bullet tightly.

"Don't move, I'm going to pull it out!"

puff.

The bullet forcibly pulled out a sliver of flesh, which was then thrown into a nearby iron plate with a crisp sound.

Jack tilted his head back, gasping for breath, his chest heaving violently, his face contorted in extreme pain.

The old doctor picked up the suture needle. "Can it hold up?"

"Should I give you some morphine to relieve the symptoms?"

Seeing that Jack was on the verge of shock, the old doctor couldn't help but speak again.

"I don't need those damn drugs..."

Jack gasped for breath and managed to squeeze out a few words through gritted teeth.

"Sew it up! Sew it up!"

Outside the infirmary, Copeton leaned against the wall, listening to the heavy breathing coming from inside, a chill running down his spine.

This guy isn't human.

After an unknown amount of time, the iron gate emitted a screeching sound.

Jack limped out, leaning on a broken steel pipe he'd found somewhere.

His right leg was wrapped in thick white gauze, and his face was bloodless, making the clown's smiling face even more glaring.

"Alright, weird-headed boy, sorry to keep you waiting."

Jack hopped and skipped over to Copport's side.

"Where do we go now? Should we leave the chemical plant before the Falcone people notice anything amiss?"

Cobb quickly took a half step back, afraid of being bumped by Jack.

"Leave? Why leave?"

"We're now limping brothers fighting side by side."

Jack, leaning on his steel pipe, leaned close to Copeport's ear.

"How about we team up? Let's start by creating a 'Penguin Gang,' what do you say?"

Jack raised his free hand and waved it in front of Copeport's eyes.

"The Penguin Gang..." Cobblestone was stunned.

He was just a low-level henchman in the Falcone family, and he rarely even saw the boss.

To be the boss myself?

This idea grew wildly in his mind.

With this monster in front of us that can turn people into dolls, what is Falcone?

All we need to do is turn all of Falcone's core executives into toys and then erase their existence.

This vast Gotham underworld is theirs for the taking!

A greedy glint flashed in Cobb's eyes, and he was about to open his mouth to agree.

boom!

The outermost heavy iron gate of the chemical plant suddenly emitted a deafening roar.

Immediately afterwards, the iron gate was kicked open from the outside.

Heavy footsteps, accompanied by the sound of rain hitting the ground, came clearly from the end of the corridor.

Someone's here.

And there's more than one.

Judging from those heavy footsteps, they were definitely not ordinary gangsters.

In the silent corridor, the sound of footsteps was like a death knell.

Cobbler's greed turned to terror, and he opened his mouth wide to scream.

In that very instant.

Jack reached out and immediately placed his large hand on Cobblestone's shoulder.

The cold touch traveled through the tuxedo.

"Shhh."

Jack put a finger to his lips, his face showing extreme excitement.

"Our distinguished guest has arrived."

"Ready to greet the audience with me, my penguin brothers?"

……

A torrential downpour, accompanied by strong winds, poured into the corridor, soaking the floor.

Four men in black raincoats strode in, their leather shoes splashing mud as they stepped into the puddles.

They weren't wearing police uniforms, but the police pistols and handcuffs on their waists immediately gave them away.

These people are clearly corrupt cops in the Gotham Police Department.

"This damn weather!"

The one leading the group had a thick beard. He irritably ripped off his rain hat and vigorously shook off the water droplets.

"Every time I get my 'hardship allowance' from Falcone, I have to come to this godforsaken place. My shoes are practically soaked through!"

The bearded man cursed and spat on the ground.

"Alright, stop complaining."

A tall, thin man next to him casually closed the iron gate, patting the rain off his clothes as he continued the conversation.

"You can't just accept bribes in public, can you?"

"The money Falcone gave us is enough to buy a house in the city center."

The tall, thin man spoke while looking around.

The corridor was empty, with only the old incandescent light bulbs flickering from the ceiling.

"That's strange, where did those three idiots who were keeping watch at the door go?"

The tall, thin man reached for the gun handle at his waist, his eyes becoming alert.

"Usually these three guys would have already come over asking for cigarettes, but today I haven't seen a single one."

When Cobblestone, who was hiding in the shadows at the end of the corridor, heard this, his chubby cheeks twitched uncontrollably.

Those three guards?

It had long since turned into a wooden doll, and was shot to pieces outside.

Cobb turned his head and glanced at Jack standing behind him.

Jack leaned against the rusty reactor, his blood-smeared smiling face looking particularly eerie in the dim light.

"Copperware! Where the hell have you been?!"

The bearded man roared impatiently, his voice echoing through the empty factory.

Copeport shuddered, quickly put on a fawning smile, and limped out of the shadows.

"Oh, officers, it's really kind of you to make this trip in such heavy rain!"

Cobo rubbed his hands together and bowed as he went to greet him.

The bearded man grabbed Coppert's tuxedo collar and lifted him up.

"Enough talk, Penguin! Is the money ready?"

The bearded man stared menacingly into Copeport's eyes.

"Of course, of course it's all ready!" Cobblestone nodded repeatedly, startled. "It's all in the safe in the back, I'll go get it right now!"

"Wait a minute." The tall, thin man stepped forward and patted Copport's chubby face.

"Besides the money, there was another thing they told us."

The tall, thin man had fierce eyes and his tone was full of murderous intent.

"Have you seen a guy named Jack?"

"The engineers at your chemical plant used to be very thin and skinny."
