It was a sunny hillside, dotted with wildflowers and weeds. At the top of the hill stood two small graves.

The grave wasn't large, and the mound of earth had collapsed somewhat, covered with weeds. Two wooden plaques stood in front of the grave, the words on them blurred and illegible.

A Luo walked over, put her basket aside, squatted down, and began to pull weeds.

She pulled them out very carefully, one by one, cleaning up all the weeds.

The chubby baby squatted beside her, watching her pull, and suddenly asked:

"These are your parents?"

Aro nodded.

The chubby baby fell silent.

He didn't know what to say. He had never seen his parents—he was a demon, how could he have parents?

He could only watch A'Luo, squatting quietly.

After pulling up the weeds, A'Luo took the ginseng from her basket and respectfully placed it in front of the grave.

She then took out a few more pieces of paper money from her bosom and lit them with a tinderbox.

Wisps of smoke rose, and the paper money turned to ashes, scattering in the air.

A Luo knelt down and kowtowed three times.

"Father, Mother, I've come to see you."

She spoke softly, her voice very low, as if she were talking to herself.

"I dug up a fine ginseng root today, let me show you. I'm doing quite well, the people in the village are taking good care of me. You don't need to worry."

She paused, then added:

"Oh, by the way, I've made a friend. He's very cute. I'll bring him to see you often when I have the chance."

The chubby baby, listening nearby, suddenly felt a lump in his throat.

He secretly rubbed his eyes, then pretended nothing had happened and continued squatting.

A Luo knelt for a while, then slowly stood up.

She looked at the two graves again, then at the ginseng plant placed in front of them, before picking up her basket and turning to walk down the mountain.

The chubby baby quickly followed.

After walking for a while, he suddenly asked:

"You just left that ginseng there?"

Aro nodded.

"Aren't you going to dig it up?"

Aro shook her head.

"That's such a pity..."

Aro smiled but offered no explanation.

She simply looked up at the sky.

The sky was very blue, and the sun had already risen, its rays warming my skin.

Life in the mountains went on day by day.

The chubby baby, chewing on candy, skipped and hopped ahead.

A Luo followed behind, a smile on her lips.

A mountain breeze blew by, ruffling her hair and rustling the roadside weeds; everything was so peaceful.

After walking for a short while, the chubby baby suddenly stopped.

He tilted his head, looked into the roadside bushes, took two steps forward, and looked again.

Seeing that he wasn't moving, A'luo asked:

"What's wrong?"

The chubby baby pointed to the bushes and whispered:

There...is someone there.

A Luo paused for a moment, then walked over and parted the bushes.

A person was lying there.

It was a young man wearing a dark purple robe, which was torn by thorns and stained with mud and blood.

His face was deathly pale, his lips were cracked, and there was a deep wound on his shoulder blade, the blood of which had congealed and stained half of his clothes dark red.

A Luo squatted down and reached out to check his breath.

There was still breath, but it was very weak.

She looked down at that face—

Even covered in blood, his handsome features were still undeniable.

His eyebrows slanted upwards, his nose was high and straight, and his features were as rugged as rocks in the mountains.

His lips were pressed tightly together, revealing a stubbornness even in his unconscious state.

A Luo glanced at it a few times and suddenly felt her heart skip a beat.

She quickly looked away, inwardly cursing herself: The person is about to die, what are you thinking?

She stood up and hesitated for a moment.

This person's origins are unknown, and given how badly he's injured, it's clear he's gotten himself into trouble.

She's just a young girl, an orphan, meddling in such things; what if she gets herself into trouble?

She turned around, ready to leave.

After taking two steps, he stopped again.

That face somehow appeared in her mind.

She bit her lip and looked back again.

The man was still lying there, motionless.

Aro sighed, walked back, and squatted down.

"Baby, give me a hand."

The chubby baby blinked: "You're going to save him?"

Aro nodded.

The chubby baby pouted, "He looks so dangerous..."

A Luo didn't say anything, but simply put one of the man's arms on her shoulder and pulled him up with all her might.

The person looked thin, but was incredibly heavy.

A Luo couldn't lift it up by herself; she tried several times, but fell to the ground each time.

The chubby baby watched from the side, stamping his feet in frustration.

"You can't do that!"

Arlo, panting, glared at him:

"Then why don't you come and help!"

The chubby baby was stunned.

He looked at his short arms and legs, then at the tall, strong man's body, and looked troubled.

"I...I'm so young, how can I help..."

Arlo ignored him and tried again.

They managed to help the person up, but after taking only two steps, they slipped and fell to the ground again.

A Luo sat on the ground, looking at the man's blood-stained face, and suddenly felt like crying.

The chubby baby was pacing anxiously nearby when suddenly an idea struck him:

"I've got an idea!"

He ran to the man's side, took a deep breath, and his whole body suddenly emitted a faint light.

The light was faint, but Aro could feel a power emanating from the chubby baby.

The chubby baby's face turned red:

"Quick...help him up...I can't hold on much longer..."

A Luo quickly got up and went to help the man again.

This time it's much lighter.

The person seemed to be supported by something, and A-Luo only needed to hold on slightly to move forward.

The two of them, along with one clever fellow, stumbled and staggered towards the village.

......

After walking for most of an hour, we finally saw the gate of the village.

The chubby baby's light grew fainter and fainter, and his steps became increasingly unsteady. He looked up ahead and whispered:

"We've arrived...we've arrived..."

As soon as he finished speaking, his figure suddenly disappeared.

A Luo suddenly felt a weight in her hand, and the person became incredibly heavy. She stumbled and almost fell.

"A doll? A doll!"

No one responded.

A Luo gritted her teeth and struggled to support the man, inching her way towards the village gate.

"Aro?"

A voice came from ahead.

A Luo looked up and saw Aunt Wang, who sells tofu.

Aunt Wang was startled when she saw the blood-covered person she was supporting:

"Who...who is this?!"

Arlo was panting and could barely speak:

"I...I found it...on the mountain..."

Aunt Wang rushed over and helped her support the man.

Now, everyone else saw it too.

"Aro brought a stranger back!"

"Oh dear, is that person injured?"

"Help! Help!"

Several men ran over, quickly took the man from him, and carried him into the village.

A Luo followed behind, her legs trembling with exhaustion, but her eyes remained fixed on the person being carried.
