Diana took off her gloves and glanced regretfully at the security gate that had turned black due to a short circuit.

For her, this kind of technological junk is fine as long as her ceramic pots aren't touched, but for the museum's budget, it's another deficit that she needs to fill with the copyright fees for Wonder Woman merchandise.

"Bruce just contacted me. I know the filth in Gotham; it's centuries of accumulated malice, like a layer of black paint mixed with the ashes of criminals. You want me, someone who only knows how to fix pottery, to clean up this mess?"

She turned and walked toward the dressing room.

"That's hard work, but if you're willing to be my assistant today, temporarily and without any pay, I might consider teaching you the more complicated cleaning solution."

Ten minutes later, Hugh thought that the so-called minor trouble might refer to Diana's misunderstanding of the definition of "minor".

In the heart of the Potomac River, right across from the Jefferson Memorial, a mechanical crab, roughly three stories tall and painted in an extremely tasteless fluorescent green, is frantically churning the silt at the bottom of the river.

Each time the giant hydraulic clamps close, they scoop up a handful of pitiful water plants and a few discarded Coke bottles from the riverbed.

Inside the cockpit sat a bald man wearing diving goggles and a white lab coat, yelling into a megaphone.

"Tremble, Washington! Hand over your federal reserves! Otherwise, Dr. Deepsea Grabber will use these invincible pincers to tear that white house down to pieces!"

Tourists along the river were eating hot dogs and live-streaming on their phones, and some were even betting on how long it would take for the National Guard to blow up the crab into sashimi.

"So, this guy's here to get something to eat too?"

Shuon floated beside Diana.

He looked down at the huge thing below, his brows furrowing slightly.

"The alloy purity is too low; it even contains at least 60% stainless steel. It's a bit hard to chew as breakfast, but it's barely acceptable as dessert. Madam, I must remind you, next time you choose a villain, could you please choose one with a higher alloy content?"

Diana didn't reply, but instead kicked off her high heels and pulled out a shimmering golden rope from under her well-tailored business suit.

"Watch and learn. This is the first step in the so-called cleaning work: removing impurities."

The Amazonian Valkyrie left a vacuum trail in the atmosphere.

The unfortunate Deepsea Grabber didn't even see what it was; it only felt as if the entire mech had been hit head-on by an overloaded train.

boom!

A giant mechanical crab claw traced an arc in mid-air before being caught by a golden hand that descended from the sky.

"Thank you for your hospitality. This hydraulic oil is a bit stale; please remember to change it with fresh oil next time."

Without any hesitation, Xiu En took a bite out of the metal pincers that were bigger than his whole body.

The fight, or rather the one-sided beating, ended in thirty seconds.

The bald doctor was suspended from a pillar in the Lincoln Memorial by a long rope like a dead pig, and his so-called invincible mech had been completely dismantled into a pile of parts.

Diana looked at the scrap metal in her hand, then at the bald man next to her whose mouth was covered in engine oil.

"See? You don't need to evaporate the whole river. You just need to find the most crucial nut and unscrew it."

She watched with a headache as Xiu En stuffed half a hood into his pocket.

"Of course, you don't have to eat it all up."

Diana glanced at Shuen with a puzzled look, as if she noticed that Shuen had gained a divine quality.

The Lasso of Truth was like a flowing golden stream, winding up and around Shuen's wrist.

It trembled slightly, resonating at a high frequency with the protective golden light on Xiu En's body.

Diana's brows furrowed more and more as the feedback from the rope returned, and a look appeared in her blue eyes, which were accustomed to seeing mythical creatures, as if she were looking at a terminal illness medical record.

"This isn't just a problem of your previous energy overload, Shuen. The concept of the sun within you is eating you up."

She loosened the ropes, and the golden light retreated to her waist.

"If you continue to use the sun's power so recklessly, like this morning when you unleashed divine fire so wantonly, soon the human consciousness of that Shuen will vanish like a drop of water dried up by the sun. What will remain is only a divine shell high in the sky, showing no mercy to mortals. You will cease to be human."

After hearing this diagnosis that could plunge any superhero into an existential crisis, Hugh simply shrugged indifferently and casually tossed the last bit of low-iron nut in his hand into his mouth like a peanut.

"No wonder."

He gave Diana a smile that was even brighter than before.

"It's like when you're promoted from a cleaner to a cleaning supervisor, you naturally can't stand even a speck of dust on the ground. As for becoming a god? As long as that god can still eat hamburgers and remember to water the flowers, I have no objection."

Diana was taken aback by this extremely pragmatic, or rather, extremely carefree attitude. Just as she was about to say something profound about the light of humanity, Xiu En abruptly changed the subject.

The glowing man turned his head to the side and whistled at the sunflower on his shoulder that had been pretending to be dead. His expression instantly switched from the indifference of discussing life and death to a narcissistic mode of expecting praise.

"Don't listen to the experts' alarmist talk! Ivy, let's be reasonable and put aside all those philosophical questions about humanity and divinity. Just look at the special effects of the two suns appearing in the sky this morning."

He pointed to the huge sun overhead, then to himself, his face practically screaming "Praise me!"

"Isn't it cool? That feeling of being bathed in golden light, illuminating all living beings, making all evil tremble in its glow. Isn't it much more stylish?"

Sunflower Ivy was clearly speechless at this topic that treated life-or-death matters like a fashion show.

The emerald green leaf landed squarely on Xiu En's cheek like a sharp slap, but then gently brushed against his earlobe.

"If your handsomeness means you almost overloaded my chloroplasts and made all the plants in Gotham think it was noon at the equator, then that's pretty impressive."

"But it was definitely warm, much more pleasing to the eye than that rainy Gotham. As long as you don't burn yourself to ashes, I'll reluctantly admit that look gets an 80 out of 100. The 20 points deducted are because your expression was just too damn punchable."

"It seems you two are indeed a very special pair."

As Diana watched the interaction between the woman and the flower, her previously tense expression relaxed slightly.

"Since the patient isn't in a hurry, I, as the temporary doctor, won't worry too much. But the hidden danger is still there. You need an anchor point that allows you to maintain a balance between God and humanity, or a technology that can help you lock in your humanity."

She pointed in the direction of the Capitol Building in the distance, and then pointed to the sky.

"I have an old friend who's an expert in this area, specializing in dealing with these magical and divine messes. Since you're in Washington, why don't you go see Doctor Fate?"
