Forests Don't Support Idle Goblins

Chapter 37 Old Classmate

"Miss Sebastian, what's wrong?" A staff member stepped forward and asked with concern.

"It's nothing." The young girl sitting in the chair held half of her face. "I'm just feeling a little unwell. It might be that the plague is coming soon."

The staff member asked, "Should we stop this event?"

"No need, I'm fine." A glint of light flashed in the girl's purple pupils.

Before them was a large circular arena, where a battle for advancement to Iron-rank adventurer was taking place.

An armored warrior wielding a sword and shield is fighting a serpentine creature as tall as a person with its head raised. The serpent is translucent blue, with darker eyes and mouth, and several bright white specks shimmer inside its body, like stars in the sky.

The warriors kept changing positions, trying to get behind the snake's head, but to no avail, and were repeatedly hit by the giant snake's tail.

Watching the intense battle unfold, several people on the sidelines whispered among themselves, "Truly worthy of being a genius bloodline sorcerer, so powerful, even a single summoned beast is enough to make the captain struggle."

"Yeah, we're really unlucky. We got her as the examiner, so we can't advance to Bronze this time."

"Then we can't get the secret medicine anymore, can we?"

"I really hope Miss Sebastian will go easy on me."

This promotion exam is organized by the Adventurers' Guild, and all applicants are Iron-rank adventurers. They take turns fighting, and only by defeating this summoned beast can they be promoted.

The female examiner overheard their whispers, glanced at them, and then whispered, "Strangle him."

In the arena, the giant serpent suddenly began to move rapidly, forcing the warriors to be on high alert, but they were quickly entangled.

Only when he could no longer breathe did the soldier drop his weapon and manage to shout, "I surrender."

The giant serpent ended its strangulation, released the warrior, and disappeared from the field as if it had entered a spatial rift.

"Next round, examiner Agatha Sebastian, contestant..." the staff announced loudly.

"I'm sorry," Agatha interrupted him, "I have some things to attend to, so you'll need to find someone else to be the examiner for now."

"Yes, Miss Sebastian."

Agatha Christie rose from the stage, her graceful figure sparking the imagination.

Without stopping, she covered the left side of her face and went straight into the lounge. After locking the door, she went to the dressing mirror and looked at herself in the mirror with a sinister gaze.

"A genius bloodline sorcerer?" she murmured to herself.

"Even a random summoned beast can keep you busy."

Agatha chuckled, but then gritted her teeth and said, "Even a goblin dares to provoke me."

She lowered her hand, and a line of bloody tears flowed from her left eye.

"I hate this face. It makes me feel nauseous every time I see it."

She grabbed a small knife from the dressing table and slashed her cheek hard. Blood flowed down her chin and dripped onto the floor.

"Disgusting, disgusting, this face." With each word Agatha spoke, she drew a bloody line, and soon her entire face was covered in wounds, a gruesome sight.

The pain did not extinguish her anger; on the contrary, she laughed happily.

"This face looks better this way."

Agatha smiled sinisterly, as if admiring a masterpiece, enjoying looking at herself in the mirror.

Immediately, the wounds on her face began to heal and recover, leaving her face smooth and clean as before. If it weren't for the bloodstains on the ground, it would seem as if nothing had happened.

"Isn't that amazing, sister?" Agatha said teasingly.

She got up, walked to the table, and picked up a handkerchief to wipe the bloodstains from her face.

"Which little girl is throwing a tantrum?" a voice suddenly rang out. "Oh, it's Agatha Christie."

Agatha paused for a moment, turned her head to look, and saw that she still looked the same as before, her face covered in bloodstains.

"Agatha, this isn't fun." The person in the mirror laughed, ran her finger across her face, and then wrote on the mirror, "Don't forget what you promised."

"Master, I dare not forget." Agatha's tone was tinged with fear.

"That's good," Agatha in the mirror put her finger in her mouth, tasting the blood. "I hope you fulfill our promise as soon as possible."

"Yes, Master," Agatha said, bowing her head.

"Very good, Agatha, I like you more and more." The person in the mirror covered her mouth and laughed exaggeratedly, then she winked, turned around and left, disappearing from the mirror.

Agatha stared blankly at the mirror, where only her profile was reflected.

After confirming that the other person had really left, she closed her eyes, clenched her fists, and her whole body trembled uncontrollably.

A few seconds later, Agatha sighed, tidied her makeup, and walked out of the lounge.

"Let's head to Gieshin Town now and prepare to enter the forest."

"We need to find that thing quickly; time is running out."

"But before that, we need to deal with that annoying goblin first."

Her vicious gaze instantly transformed into a radiant smile: "I will crush, burn, and dismember your men one by one in front of you, until you can no longer cry, before I will chop you up and throw you by the roadside to feed the stray dogs."

"Hahaha." Agatha's melodious laughter echoed in the corridor, pleasing to the ear and drawing everyone's attention.

"Agatha," a voice called out behind her.

She turned her head and saw a young man in a blue and green striped court dress approaching her, escorted by several armored knights. "Old classmate, it's me, Theodore."

"Your Highness," Agatha bowed slightly.

"No, no, get up quickly." Theodore stepped forward, took her hand, and helped her up. "So, what's your decision?"

Agatha abruptly withdrew her hand and bowed her head, saying, "Thank you for your high regard, but I'm sorry, Your Highness, I am temporarily unable to serve as your magical advisor. I have other very important matters to attend to."

"That's such a pity." Theodore touched his big nose, looking slightly regretful.

"There are also many capable mages, and I believe they will agree to serve as your advisors," Agatha said calmly.

"But aren't we old classmates?" Theodore smiled.

"I'm so sorry, but I really have something very important to attend to." Agatha bowed slightly. "If you have nothing else, I'll be leaving now."

After saying that, she didn't wait for the other person to agree or not, and turned to leave.

"Your Highness, this man is too arrogant, should we..." Theodore's guard approached and said.

"There's nothing I can do, they don't even look at me, after all, I'm just the third prince," Theodore shrugged.

Then he asked with a smile, "Is everything taken care of?"

"It's done, it's still in the basement of the corner tower."

"Alright, let's go back." Theodore laughed heartily, a cruel glint in his eyes.
