Chapter 34 New Team Members

"Goat" was somewhat surprised: "Lince, really? Which official squad are you in? You don't have some powerful backer, do you?"

Lindsay said calmly, "It's true. I'm now the captain of the [Sharp Teeth] squad. If you want to join my squad, of course you can."

The "goat" rubbed its chin, pondering for a moment.

"Okay, then I'll join your team. From now on, we'll be regular teammates."

"I'll join too," Broken Arrow answered crisply.

"Can I join?" Leon seemed to sense something and asked tentatively.

"Goat" was blunt: "No, Lyon, you're too weak. It's better if you don't join the official team."

"Just because I'm an Iron-rank adventurer?"

"No, look at Lindsay, he's also a Black Iron level."

But he knows so many weapon techniques, and he can even use fire arrows. His skill level is among the top in the Bronze level. I don't know what other tricks he has up his sleeve.

"Leon, to form a formal team in the guild, you need to be at least Bronze rank. You know what I mean, right? This is for your own good."

"Alright," Leon said, somewhat dejectedly, "I'll hone my combat skills. Lindsay, thank you again for saving me. I'm leaving now."

Lindsay didn't say anything; he just nodded silently.

"Broken Arrow" grabbed Leon's shoulder: "Don't rush, Leon, it's noon now, let's have lunch together before you go."

"No need, I'll be going now."

Leon broke free and quickly left the tavern.

"This young man has quite a strong sense of pride, 'Goat,' your words are too harsh."

"Goat" shrugged: "Reality is always cruel. Adventurers have to be realistic about their own abilities. I hope he can become stronger."

"Broken Arrow" sighed and walked up to Lindsay: "What would you like to eat, Captain? Today we're celebrating our joining the team, so I'll treat you to a meal."

Captain? Lindsay was somewhat surprised by this title.

"You've already called for the captain? Brinnan, you haven't even gone through the proper procedures with the guild yet."

"Eat first, then go, Captain. Don't refuse."

"Then I won't stand on ceremony, I'll have a lamb chop set meal."

"Broken Arrow" glanced at "Goat" again, then called out to the fat bartender, "Boss, two lamb chop sets and one venison chop set."

"Alright, but would you like to try our newest dish, pepper minced meat soup, made with spices from the mysterious East? It's only 1 silver coin."

Pepper soup? Lindsay's interest was piqued; it sounded quite appetizing.

"Boss, I'd like another serving of pepper minced meat soup."

"Three more servings, please," Broken Arrow added.

"Alright," Rayland then called out in a loud voice, "Good afternoon, adventurers. Our tavern has just launched a new dish, pepper minced meat soup. Quantities are limited, so please be prepared while supplies last."

Chaos immediately erupted in the tavern.

"I'll have one!"

"Give me one too!"

Many adventurers and townspeople rushed to the bar, scrambling to order food and pay.

"Goat" laughed, "That's the power of spices, Captain, did you see that?"

"Why are you calling me captain now, old man? You haven't even officially joined the guild yet."

Before long, Lilia brought out the three of their meal sets.

"Brother Linsel, you seem a little different than usual. Have you made some new friends?"

"Yes."

"Enjoy your meal, Brother Linsel. There are many customers now, so Lilia will go and take care of her own business."

Watching the girl's light and quick departure, "Broken Arrow" was somewhat surprised: "When did this little girl become so close to the captain?"

The middle-aged adventurer reminded him, "You don't even know? Linsel used to be a hero of the tavern. All the adventurers in Linsel Town know that."

But only Lindsay knew the price behind it, even if it was just an accident.

He shifted his negative emotions, after all, enjoying food should be about savoring it.

"I'm almost embarrassed by what you're saying. Here, have some soup!"

Linsel took a sip of the pepper and minced meat soup. It was neither too salty nor too bland, and it had a peculiar spiciness. This was the first time he had tasted spiciness since he transmigrated.

Fragrant!

[[Devour Growth+] effect activated, Strength +1]

The panel that suddenly appeared in front of me displayed this message.

At the same time, Lindsay felt a strange power emerging in his muscles, which excited him.

Excellent! This monster's ability is now always able to surprise me!

"You know what, Captain, this soup is really good."

"Goat" picked up the wooden bowl with one hand and took a big gulp.

"The spiciness is truly precious; this is a rare opportunity to enjoy such a delicious meal. 'Broken Arrow,' thank you for treating us this time as well."

……

Afterwards at the guild office, "Goat" and "Broken Arrow" registered and paid a 10-copper-coin processing fee, officially joining the [Sharp Teeth] team.

Lindsay asked Gina, "I think the name 'Sharp Teeth' for this squad is a bit strange. Is it their original name?"

"The handling fee is 10 copper coins. Let me check."

A female worker prints a report inside a metal machine.

"Your squad has had three previous names: [Wolf Head], named by the first captain when the squad was created; [United Wild Hunt], renamed by the fifth captain; and [Sharp Teeth], renamed by the ninth captain."

"Flat nose," Ah, so "Sharp teeth" was the name he changed to.

"Can I change my squad name?"

"Of course, but there will be a name change fee of 10 silver coins."

"Then let's not change it for now."

After completing the joining procedures, the three went to the quest log and looked at the remaining quests that no adventurer had accepted yet.

When Linsel first came to the guild tavern, he saw the remaining silver-level quest on the quest log, which was the highest-level quest for adventurers in Linchui Town.

It's been almost a month now, and no one has answered yet.

"Uncle 'Goat,' you know a lot. Tell me, what are Silver-rank adventurers like?"

"Silver-level, huh? I can only say they are relatively powerful adventurers."

"Goat" paused for a moment, then began to give a detailed introduction.

"Silver-level adventurers are all professionals; they are well-equipped and possess at least two combat skills or spells."

Their active area is also much larger, unlike many Bronze-level adventurers and Black Iron/White Porcelain-level adventurers who are only active in fixed areas near towns.

To become a Silver-rank adventurer, besides needing 200 points, you must also go to the Adventurers' Guild in the city and pass their promotion test.

Linsley currently has 36 points, and he is 14 points away from being promoted to Bronze-level adventurer.

It seems there's still a long way to go.

"Uncle 'Goat,' how many points do you have now?"

"292 points, that sounds like I've already met the promotion requirements, but I haven't gone to the city yet, and I feel like... I've lost my drive."

"Why?" Lindsay asked.

"I registered as an adventurer when I was almost thirty, so I'm considered old. Now, after more than a decade of adventures, I'm starting to think about retiring."

"No way, Uncle 'Goat,' you're retiring so soon after joining my team? That doesn't make sense."

"Don't worry, I'll take more risks for a few more years... Let's not talk about that, let's take a look at this Iron-level quest in the quest log."

He pointed to the only remaining Iron-level quest on the quest log: "Quests like this that no one does by noon are usually quite troublesome, but you can take a look at the details of the quest first."
