Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 020: Precision Shooting

Although it was a bit strange for Noah to become a partner, he accepted it gladly. As long as he got adventure points, he wouldn't lose out at all.

Brian slowly poked his head out of the cave, a rabbit still dangling from his mouth, and squeezed out of the cave entrance.

It shook off the mud off its body, wagged its tail, and came to Loran. It put the rabbit down and waited quietly for Loran's praise.

"Good dog, good dog!" Loran patted Brian's head, very satisfied with its behavior.

"With Brian's help, killing rabbits couldn't be easier!" Lin Wen praised.

Brian raised his head, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of being praised, just like his old master had done!

There were many rabbit holes on the flat ground, and Loran and his companions followed suit and began hunting wild rabbits.

The basket used to collect the rabbit carcasses gradually filled up, and so did Loran's adventure points.

Current Adventure Points: 42.

If you have enough points, learn the skill directly!

A few lines of text have been updated in the adventure manual.

「生存指引:恭喜掌握技能——精準射击lv.1(熟练度0/20):30秒内10米距离箭无虚发。」

"Survival Guide: Congratulations on mastering the talent - Strength Boost lv.1 (Proficiency 0/20): Your strength is increased by 5%."

You spend points to learn a skill and a talent.

Loran clenched his fist. His strength had increased by 5%, which wasn't very noticeable, but he could still feel it a little bit.

Noah's unlocked talent is quite good, but Brian's unlocked bite... is obviously very unsuitable for him to master.

Loran then checked the detailed page for Precision Shot, because there was a level after the skill, and he wanted to see how to level it up.

精準射击lv.1(熟练度0/20):30秒内10米距离箭无虚发。注:[可花费20冒险点数加快50%的熟练度进程]

He stroked his chin. So that's how it is. To upgrade a skill level, you need to max out your proficiency, and spending adventure points can only speed up the proficiency progress by a maximum of 50%.

In other words, adventure points cannot be used to directly upgrade skills; one needs to practice using the skills first.

Having learned the skill, Loran couldn't wait to try it out, and just then they arrived at another rabbit burrow's gathering place.

Loran drew his bow and nocked an arrow, silently chanting "precise aim!"

In an instant, his focus became concentrated, and the whispers and noises around him seemed to be blocked out.

At this moment, all he could see was the hare that had dashed out of the hole; even its movements seemed to slow down in Loran's eyes.

"call out!"

The arrow shot out like a vicious venomous snake. It initially missed its mark, but ultimately it still bit into the rabbit's body, bringing the rabbit's life to an abrupt end, and it stopped running.

Precision Shooting lv.1 (Proficiency 1/20)

Loran slowly came to his senses. His focus just now had made him feel a momentary sense of fatigue, but it didn't have a significant impact.

Yes, the original owner of Loran still understood the general principles of skill release in her memories.

Skills are unleashed through will and spirit. For example, the precise shooting just now was accurate because of a moment of absolute focus and the archer's shooting instinct.

These factors combined, conforming to the rules of the world, resulted in a skill that "always hits".

The magic cast by mages requires certain theoretical knowledge and must conform to the rules of the world in order to cast a certain spell.

Loran learned precision shooting from the manual, but in reality, it still required him to unleash it, just like any other ranger who could also "precise shoot".

"Hey! Mr. Zhao Xin, do you know what you just did?!" Lin Wen ran up to Luo Lan, her big eyes wide with disbelief.

Lorraine blinked. "What did I do?"

Lin Wen looked at Luo Lan with suspicion, "Don't you know what you did? That arrow just now, it even curved, didn't you see it?!"

"Perhaps that arrow had its own ideas," Loran shrugged.

"Stop talking nonsense! Tell me, did you get some secret technique from your last trip? When did you learn that skill? I haven't even mastered it yet!"

Lin Wen looked unconvinced.

It seems that he couldn't hide it from this guy after all, but Loran didn't intend to hide it. After all, learning Keane's abilities wasn't anything special.

Many veteran hunters only suddenly learn the skills when they are in their fifties or sixties. There's nothing wrong with them suddenly becoming enlightened, right?

"Congratulations, Brother Zhao Xin! Skills are a basic requirement for an adventurer's party, and the minimum requirement for a bronze-level adventurer. This means you're likely to take another step forward on your adventure!"

Noah then stepped forward and offered his congratulations.

"I might not have realized it just now, or maybe I really have it. Let me try again." Lorraine smiled sheepishly.

Lin Wen pouted and turned away. For some reason, a feeling of sadness welled up inside her.

Now that Loran has mastered the skills, he certainly won't accept such simple hunting quests anymore. Instead, he'll become a wandering adventurer, exploring goblin lairs, underground demon caves, and legendary dragons...

In that case, she'll probably drift further and further away from her hunting friend.

Just a few days ago, Loran had left in high spirits because he wanted to see poetry and distant places. Now that he has mastered the skills, he has even more reason to see poetry and distant places, so he has even less reason to stay in such a wretched place.

There's even less reason to team up with a mediocre assassin like her...

"Linwen, are you alright?" Luo Lan asked curiously when she saw Linwen suddenly turn her back.

Lin Wen smiled, turned around, and sneered, "Don't think that just because you've mastered a skill, you can catch more rabbits than me. I'll definitely catch more rabbits than you today!"

"Haha, let's have a competition then," Loran chuckled.

The rabbits near the village have been mostly dealt with; the remaining ones need to be searched in a wider area.

At noon, Vance gathered everyone together, partly to enjoy the lunch provided by the village, and partly to plan the afternoon's activities.

"Everyone worked hard this morning. Remember to take good care of the rabbits you hunted. If you feel you can't protect them well, you can leave them to me to manage. Now I'll talk about the plans for this afternoon."

As he spoke, Vance pulled out a stack of papers.

"In the afternoon, we continued hunting, partly to clear out more rabbits and partly to search for wild boar dens in the forest. Recently, some villagers have reported that at least five wild boars have attacked crops in the farmland."

"These wild boars definitely live nearby. The note contains clues about the wild boar's nest. If anyone finds it and can't handle it themselves, please contact me immediately. The person who reports the nest will also receive a good reward."

"Next are some instructions on capturing land rats and poisonous frogs. These small animals lurk in farmland and are not numerous. Adventurers who want to hunt them can sign up..."

......

"Finally, everyone can head to the village for lunch. The cost has been reimbursed by the Warren nobles. By the way, if you want to upgrade your equipment, you can go to 'Dick's Blacksmith Shop' in Fall Creek Village. They also buy back old equipment, which is very affordable!"
