Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 041: Drawing "Attention" Again

More and more adventurers were drawn by the excitement, and everyone was discussing topics related to Elfen.

Loran watched Elfin quietly. He felt that Elfin's return was strange in every way, but there was no evidence to prove his strangeness.

It defies common sense, yet it contains a hint of rationality.

It's just that he's seen even stranger things, so he's somewhat indifferent to people like Erfin who are so abnormal.

However, at that moment, Elfin seemed to sense something and turned around to look, just in time to see Loran. His gaze lingered on Loran for a moment.

Loran sensed a reaction in the manual in his mind and quickly checked it.

"Survival Guide: You have attracted the attention of something."

Loran was shocked. The gaze of something? Wasn't that exactly the same as the one he had encountered before?!

"Manual, what have I attracted the attention of?"

"Survival Guide: Do you want to spend 100 Adventure Points to actively acquire a Survival Guide?"

Loran frowned as he looked at Elfin. He could hardly believe that this seemingly glamorous man was the same person who had once watched over him.

But if it was Elfin who was watching me back then, then what about that headless monster?

And... the reason why Elfin was staring at him...

He was a missing wandering knight. Could it be that he witnessed Loran's rebirth on the day he traveled through time?

No, no, no, none of this makes sense...

Who killed Pete, the corpse picker? The method was far beyond what a wandering knight could have accomplished.

Perhaps it was because Elfin witnessed the monster killing Pete and Loran that he became curious and interested in the reborn Loran.

Could that monster be a headless monster? But a headless monster wouldn't kill people like that... and if Elfin saw a headless monster there, he probably wouldn't survive either.

Loran shook his head. He had no idea what to do with the ranger in front of him, but the ranger seemed perfectly normal. If he didn't affect him, what did it matter?

"Let's go, Brian, let's go back and rest." Loran gave the elven ranger a deep look before turning and leaving.

"Woof woof~"

After experiencing that irresistible oppression, Lorraine no longer wanted to live so timidly.

He realized his own insignificance; even if he knew everything, what could he do?

If he were to announce the existence of the headless monster, people would only think of him as a clown.

But this does not mean that the lives of ordinary people are bleak.

……

After another afternoon of training, Loran went straight to Thompson's antique shop after leaving the training camp.

Thompson was so engrossed in his study of runes that he couldn't tear himself away.

Of course, Lorraine forcibly pulled it out for him; today was an important day for his date with Mrs. Juno, and nothing could go wrong.

Loran looked at Thompson's outdated outfit, which was dark blue all over and made of rough material, like an antique among antiques.

"Oh, let me look at the book again, I feel like I'm about to understand it!" Thompson struggled reluctantly.

Lorraine scoffed. "Hey old man, could your outfit be any more casual? Are you planning to go see Mrs. Juno in this?"

Thompson proudly stated, "This outfit is great value for money! I don't think anyone would dislike it."

Loran covered her face, somewhat unable to believe that these words came from the mouth of such a swindler. This guy had cheated and swindled countless gold coins, yet he was now pursuing cost-effectiveness when buying clothes?!

"Come on, close the antique shop. I'm going to give you a good makeover today. Oh, and bring your gold coins!"

And so, Thompson reluctantly set off with Lorraine, somewhat bewildered as to what the brat was taking him to do.

But it was obvious that Loran, as an archer, was much more robust than the old man, and Thompson wouldn't have had time to escape even if he wanted to.

A short while later, Thompson found himself inside Warren Manor. Somewhat puzzled, he asked, "It's not even dinner time yet, what are you doing here so early?"

You'll find out soon enough.

Lorraine pulled Thompson into a store called Tony Clothing.

"A clothing store? You want to give me a new outfit? No, no, no, come on, this is a manor, the clothes here are all very expensive!" Thompson was about to say something when Loran pushed him inside, interrupting his spellcasting.

"Hello, esteemed guests. I am your personal consultant, Tony. What kind of clothing would you like to showcase your taste?" Store manager Tony greeted them warmly.

The store wasn't very lively, with only a few scattered customers. Clearly, this clothing store wasn't going for the mass-market, all-you-can-eat approach, but rather a boutique, high-end one.

Lorraine said casually, "Tony, I'd like to make my friend look more stylish with some new clothes. What do you think?"

"Become more handsome? Come on, with my looks, do you think I have any hope of becoming handsome? I don't believe the clothes here have any magical powers!"

Thompson said with great dissatisfaction, "If clothes can alleviate his anxiety about his appearance, then what's the point of magic?"

"You can't say that, Tony. Look at my friend's appearance. You're sure you can find something appealing about him, right?" Lorraine handed the conversation over to Tony.

Tony shifted his gaze to Thompson, and said hesitantly, "Although... at first glance your friend doesn't look that great, upon closer inspection..."

A glimmer of hope rose in Thompson's heart: could he really not be as unacceptable as he seemed?!

"But upon closer inspection, I think it's not as good as it looks at first glance," Tony sighed.

Thompson: "..."

Tony held up his tools and gestured on Thompson's body, saying confidently, "Sir, you can completely trust me. I'm a professional. Many nobles have had their clothes styled by me, and they've all given me unanimous praise."

"Mr. Frank, one of the more prestigious members of the Warren aristocracy, or nobles from some of the neighboring towns, have all had their clothes styled at my shop."

"Please wait a moment while I find you a matching outfit."

Listening to Tony's utter nonsense, Thompson gestured for Lorraine to squat down, then whispered in his ear, "Based on my years of experience as a con artist, this guy is probably a half-baked swindler!"

Lorraine rolled her eyes at Thompson. "Don't be so decisive. Maybe he really does have a job!"

"Hmph, let's see what this guy can turn into!" Thompson said with a look of disdain.
