Chapter 043: Thompson and Juno Have a Date
Once Tomman had changed his clothes, he seemed to have shed all his gloom, looking completely different from the dwarf who had been filled with inferiority just moments before.
The perfectly tailored black dress fit his muscular body snugly without the slightest hint of slouch.
The neat collar made his neck appear even more upright, cleverly avoiding any perceived shortcomings in his physique, and instead perfectly highlighting the calm and reliable temperament unique to dwarfs.
The overall design is understated yet elegant, perfectly matching the temperament and identity of a scholar.
Seeing the surprised looks on everyone's faces, Thompson unconsciously straightened his back a little. With this boost of confidence, his expression relaxed, and he looked much better overall!
"Sir, you've changed so much! I guarantee it! This outfit is perfect for tonight's dinner party," Ronnie quickly stepped forward to praise.
Lorraine smiled and praised, "Thompman, I was right, wasn't I? As long as you improve your demeanor, you still have some appeal."
There was a rather blurry bronze mirror in the shop. Thompson took a quick look at it, and although he couldn't see very clearly, based on the atmosphere created by Lorraine and Ronnie, Thompson gradually came to believe it was true.
This outfit really makes him look more sophisticated!
To be honest, Thompson may seem indifferent to appearance, but who in the world truly doesn't care about their appearance at all?
This behavior is simply because no matter how much Thompson cares about his appearance, it's to no avail, so he can only console himself by not paying attention to his appearance.
This was a last resort, not a deliberate act on his part.
He couldn't help but think back to his younger self, when he was still young and his face hadn't become ugly because of the accident.
The young and beautiful Juno was right beside him, exploring all sorts of new things with him...
Thompson just stared blankly at him, a few tears involuntarily falling from his eyes.
"Thompman, you..." Loran was about to say something, but hesitated. Something was wrong with Thompson's condition...
Thompson snapped out of his daze, rubbed his eyes, and chuckled, "Oh dear, I'm getting old. My eyes just don't work well anymore. They turn red for no reason. I'm fine! I'm fine!"
"That's wonderful, sir. Are you satisfied with your outfit? If there are any details you're not happy with, I can adjust them for you," Ronnie asked as she stepped forward.
Thompson smiled brightly, "Satisfied, I am very satisfied. The clothing store I went to at the manor before, that arrogant guy, he doesn't know anything about clothing, he couldn't even make a piece of clothing that fits my height."
"And you, madam," Thompson tugged at the clothes that fit him perfectly, "I can feel the genuine care you've put into this garment, thank you so much!"
"It's my honor to serve you," Ronnie replied happily.
Seeing that the atmosphere was just right, Loran rubbed his hands together and went to Thompson's side, taking out dozens of silver coins directly from the old man's pocket.
"Ms. Ronnie, how much is this outfit?"
Thompson's eyes widened, and his expression instantly turned to pain. Oh no, he was so focused on his image that he forgot about his wallet!
However, with Lorraine's help, Thompson eventually paid the money without hesitation. For this seasoned conman, this small sum of money was nothing.
"Now that everything's ready, can we head to the tavern and wait for Juno?" Thompson said, starting to walk towards the manor.
Lorraine stopped Thompson again. "Hey, what's the rush? You don't expect to see Mrs. Juno empty-handed, do you? You haven't seen each other for so many years, shouldn't you bring her something nice?"
"Good stuff? What good stuff? Maybe... I should give her some money?" Thompson said seriously after thinking for a moment.
Lorraine covered her face and had no choice but to lead Thompson to the front of a flower shop. "Hey, you need this!"
......
"Come on, are you ready?" Loran and Brian hid in a corner of the manor and pushed Thompson out.
With a nervous heart, Thompson looked back at the two guys, nodded earnestly, and said, "I'll do my best!"
"Okay, go ahead!"
And so, dressed very formally, Thompson confidently strode out and walked toward the lady who was waiting in front of the tavern.
Juno looked around, searching for the man.
"Could it be that this guy stood me up?" Juno's face showed a hint of dissatisfaction, but she still waited patiently in place.
Suddenly, Juno found a beautiful bouquet of flowers appearing out of nowhere in front of her. She was puzzled. How could a bouquet of flowers appear out of nowhere?
"Hey, Juno, sorry to keep you waiting." A familiar voice reached her ears.
Juno then noticed a small head beneath the bouquet.
"Thompman?!" Juno exclaimed in surprise, quickly taking the flowers from Thompson's hand.
Upon seeing the neatly dressed Thompson, Juno covered her mouth in surprise. "Wow, Thompson, your outfit... hey, you know what, it reminds me of you when you were young!"
"Of course, I'm referring to our demeanor, but in terms of age, we've both aged considerably," Juno remarked.
Thompson was also deeply moved. He looked into Juno's bright eyes and smiled, "Let's go, let's have our dinner together."
"It is an honor."
"Juno, you're still as elegant as ever."
"Of course, that's a lady's manners."
Loran watched the two walk into the restaurant from a distance, chuckling to himself that he had done a good deed.
"Let's go, Brian. My mission is complete. I can go back to sleep now!" Loran yawned and said lazily.
"Woof! Master, are they good friends like us too?!" Brian asked curiously.
"Yes, of course. They used to be great friends, and now they're finding themselves again."
As Lorraine and Brian passed by the tavern, Brian suddenly made the suggestion.
"Woof woof! Master, let's go to the tavern! The people there are super cool, and they have so many exciting adventure stories to tell! Especially about those green guys!"
Loran's expression froze. He recalled Brian's experience of being led astray by that group of adventurers... and a chill ran down his spine.
He was about to refuse, but when he met Brian's big, bright eyes, he couldn't bear to. Yes, Brian was his best friend.
Let's spoil him this once!
"Okay, let's go in and have some roast chicken!" Loran readily agreed.
"Woof woof!"
