"There are special passages behind these holes that can hide kobolds, separated by a layer of stone wall. It's quite difficult to break through this layer of stone wall," Noah analyzed.

Loran carefully examined the thickness of the hole below. Indeed, it would not be easy to break through this stone wall and attack the kobold hiding behind it.

But... if the kobolds can use these holes to attack them, then why can't they use these holes to attack the kobolds?

Although these kobolds haven't shown up yet, perhaps we can use the methods they know best to take them down.

"Finita, come here for a second." Loran gestured for Finita to come over.

Finita curiously leaned closer, and Loran whispered a few words in Finita's ear, which made Finita's eyes light up.

Lin Wen and Noah exchanged a glance, wondering what these two were up to.

Then Loran and Finita began to set a trap.

Finita took out three small wooden boxes and performed a magic trick on them, turning them into scare boxes for a prank.

The scare boxes were then placed behind the hole. These boxes were adjusted to not only have a frightening effect, but Finita also placed some glitter powder inside. When the boxes came into contact with each other, the glitter powder would release a strong flash of light.

Finita placed the three small wooden boxes behind several of the more crucial-looking holes.

Meanwhile, Loran took out two animal traps he was carrying and casually tossed them behind the hole. If these guys tried to come to the hole, they would get caught in the traps.

However, since animal traps are quite heavy, Loran naturally wouldn't carry too many; he would need to manually make some practical small traps.

Loran found a hole with a tricky angle. The hole was slightly tilted, and if you peeked out from the kobold's side, you could see part of this area, but it would be difficult to find what was hidden directly below the hole.

He bent the vine into an arc shape and wedged both ends into the two natural cracks in the inner wall of the hole, forming a simple spring board structure.

He used a knife to whittle the stick into a dozen or so finger-length spikes, inserted the base of the spikes into the gaps in the vines, and made the spikes spread outwards in a fan shape.

He tied a hemp rope to the middle of the vine, threaded the other end of the rope through a hole, and pulled it into Lorraine's hand.

He found a rock, wrapped the end of the thread around it, and kept it under slight tension, so that the trigger was ready to fire but would not be accidentally triggered.

This is a manually triggered trap.

When the kobolds frantically approached a hole to observe or attack, Loran only needed to seize the opportunity and pull the hemp thread in his hand, and the vines would instantly straighten, sending the row of spikes flying out of the hole like a fan.

The spikes will pierce directly into the kobold's face and hands. Because they are fanned out from the side, they cover a large area, and the kobold has no way to dodge them in the narrow holes.

Two more traps were set up, and then Loran sprinkled some iron nails wrapped in dead leaves into a few holes that hadn't been properly looked after.

Once the Terror Box is triggered, these kobolds are very likely to step on the nails. Even if they discover the trap, it will still cause them some trouble if they try to avoid it.

Lin Wen and Noah were dumbfounded by what the two of them had done. They were prepared to confront the kobolds head-on, but they didn't expect there to be an expert among them!

Loran grinned. "Let's go, let's keep going. There must be an entrance behind these holes, it must be just ahead."

"Alright, everyone, let's go," Noah said calmly.

The group continued forward as if nothing had happened, but the sparse commotion on both sides of the passage became more and more obvious, and the dog-headed people were starting to get restless.

Loran and the others were all prepared.

Suddenly, the kobolds bared their fangs, poked their heads out of the holes, and thrust their spears out!

However, everyone was prepared and dodged the kobolds' first attack, then began to retreat quickly.

Seeing that their first attack had failed, the kobolds shifted their position and chased after Loran and his companions in the direction they had retreated.

This was exactly what Loran and his companions wanted.

The kobolds were the first to trigger the fright box set up by Finita, and the ugly clown emerged from the box, accompanied by a bright light!

Being suddenly exposed to a flash of light in the dark is undoubtedly fatal. The kobold that stepped into the trap was temporarily blinded, and it will probably be difficult to recover in a short time.

Several kobolds approached some seemingly harmless holes, intending to stick out their spears to pierce them.

However, after they stepped on the dead leaves behind the hole, they immediately felt a piercing pain under their feet.

The nails pierced their feet, causing them great pain.

Taking advantage of their pain and mental disarray, Lin Wen threw a flying knife, accurately hitting the dog-headed man behind the hole and extinguishing his life force.

Noah's greatsword couldn't fit into the hole; it could only block the kobolds' attacks and protect his teammates as much as possible.

Bright lights flashed continuously in the darkness, accompanied by the screams of the dog-headed men, making the scene extremely chaotic.

Loran seized the opportunity and activated his pre-set trap, forcefully slapping the sharp thorns off the twisted vines.

"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!" Wooden spikes shot through the passage behind the hole, instantly hitting several kobolds and embedding themselves deeply into their skin.

Not fatal, but enough to give these guys a run for their money.

"Snap!" An unlucky kobold stepped into a bear trap, immediately getting caught and howling in pain as it lay in the middle of the tunnel.

This behavior, in turn, leads to congestion in the passageway, causing further chaos.

Lin Wen's small throwing knives and Loran's tiny bow and arrows became the most deadly weapons. The kobolds finally overcame numerous difficulties and tried to attack Loran and the others through the holes.

But what awaited them were cold throwing knives and arrows that pierced their chests.

After taking care of several kobolds, Loran, seeing that the situation was about right, said, "Let's go, let's charge in."

After the kobolds were thrown into chaos, they no longer had the strength to stop Loran and his companions, and could only let them run forward through the passage.

Sure enough, at the end of the passage there were two forks, both of which were entrances to the two layers of holes.

Loran could see that there were still many dog-headed people running in the hole passage.

But they soon ran out of steam.

Loran raised his bow and arrow, blocked the only entrance, and began shooting at the dog-headed men inside the tunnel.

Noah, on the other hand, crouched at the entrance with his greatsword, killing each kobold that came out—simple and brutal.

Once the kobolds lost the advantage of their traps, their own weaknesses were laid bare.

They were completely powerless to fight back against the attacks of Loran and his group.
