Archer's Adventure Manual

Chapter 080: Looting the Cave Chamber

Finita's unexpected crowd control had an excellent effect, allowing Loran and his group to take advantage of the opportunity to break through the kobolds' proud defenses.

Once the kobolds regained their sight, it was too late for them to fight back. Their formation had been broken and their morale had collapsed.

One by one, the kobolds fell into pools of blood, their eyes filled with intense resentment and helplessness.

"The last one, take care of it!" Lin Wen pulled the dagger from the body of a kobold, which was also the last kobold in the cave.

"Mission accomplished!" Finita said happily.

"Hurry up, everyone! There are lots of unexpected things hidden in the corners of the chamber. Let's loot them quickly, then we'll pull out the teeth of these kobolds, the sharpest ones—they're all money! Finally, watch out for traps!" Loran reminded them. "Brian, you keep an eye on the situation and help your teammates."

"Woof woof! Leave it to me!"

The group immediately set to work, searching for the place in the cave where the dog-headed people had stored their supplies.

Lin Wen crawled into a cave and found that there were some beds made of stone in the cave. These disc-shaped beds looked very warm.

"ah..."

Just then, Lin Wen heard soft humming sounds coming from the corner of the cave.

She looked in the direction of the sound and found several small dog-headed people huddled in a corner, trembling.

"Eee-yah, ee-yah-yah!" Several little dog-headed people looked at Lin Wen with fearful eyes, looking pitiful, as if begging Lin Wen not to kill them.

Yes, the bad things are all done by those dog-headed people. What does it have to do with these little lives that have just been born?

"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!" Lin Wen's dagger slid instantly, and the little dog-headed men fell into pools of blood.

What does it matter? Of course it matters. If these little dog-headed people are allowed to grow up, they will still do the same thing as their parents and invade human homes.

To show them mercy is to desecrate the responsibility of adventurers.

In these stone warm beds, there were even a few sleeping little dog-headed people, who had all quietly died in their dreams.

Lin Wen clapped his hands and discovered that there were some sparkling gems stored in this breeding room. These were probably placed here by the kobolds to pray for their offspring.

Lin Wen naturally pocketed these spoils of war. Some of the gems might be worthless, but some nobles had a particular fondness for these shiny things.

Brian accompanied Finita as she looted. She was the weakest member of the adventurer party, so she received Brian's special attention.

"Thank you, Brian, but I should be fine here. I just need to cut off these kobolds' teeth," Finita said with a smile.

Finita pried open the kobold's mouth and then stuffed an iron rod into the middle of it. This was to prevent the kobold's muscles from reflexively causing its mouth to fall down, which would bite her hand.

Finita began carefully cutting off their sharpest tooth with a knife.

Although the job was disgusting, Finita did not resist. She was an adventurer now, and adventurers faced many difficulties. If she couldn't even do this, what kind of adventurer would she be?

On the other side, Noah carefully observed the seemingly simple but actually mysterious cavern. After careful examination, he discovered a stone wall that looked somewhat strange.

Noah then tentatively tapped the stone wall with his greatsword, but unexpectedly heard a rather crisp thud, which meant that it was likely hollow inside.

Noah swung his greatsword and slashed fiercely at the top, breaking open the fake stone wall and revealing the scene inside.

It contains many minerals, including many sparkling gems.

The treasures that the kobolds dug up are all hidden here!

"The kobolds have hidden some gems here, come and pick some!"

It was unrealistic to take them all with him, so Noah assessed the value of the gems based on his experience and then put them in his pocket.

Finita and the others responded and began picking through the gems.

"Choose those gems with bright luster. Some gems may have the potential to crystallize. These gems hidden underground have been washed by time and may contain some unimaginable power. Of course, it all depends on our luck."

Noah shared his experience, and everyone suddenly understood, taking the gems that seemed most pleasing to them and leaving.

After selecting a few gems, Loran continued exploring the cave, his gaze settling on the goblins locked in cages.

These goblins looked listless and remained indifferent even after witnessing what Loran and his companions had done.

Loran knocked on the cage, looked at the goblins, and said in their goblin language, "Hey guys, how are you? You all look a little sad, what's wrong?"

The goblin in the cage glanced at Loran with slight surprise. He was weak and said in a light voice, "You... you can actually speak our language? That's incredible, but what does it matter?"

"Guys, don't look so down. Maybe I can save you. What do you think?" Loran said encouragingly.

The goblin sneered, "You lowly human, it's not your place to pity me. You have the power to kill those kobolds, killing us is probably just a thought for you. Don't try to find your sense of existence in me."

Undeterred, Loran patiently asked, "I'm curious, why are you goblins in the kobolds' cave?"

"This is none of your business," the goblin said impatiently, then turned his back.

Not only this goblin, but the other goblins in the cages were in a similar state; it seemed like they wouldn't be able to get any information out of them...

But Loran was still very puzzled, so he thought of a little trick—spiritual vision.

This little trick isn't just for observing the combat strength of the enemy and ourselves; it can also reveal the story behind a particular item.

So now he's curious about the origins of these goblins, and what they have to do with this matter?

Loran looked at the cage holding the goblins. "Brian, come here for a second."

Hearing Loran's call, Brian wagged his tail and ran over. "Master, what's wrong!"

Loran glanced at the uncooperative goblins, and a few arrows claimed their lives. He then calmed himself and said to Brian, "Keep an eye on me. If things don't look right, go get Finita and the others. I'm going to give it a try!"
