Archer's Adventure Manual
Chapter 098: Elfin Returns
Having obtained much information about the tavern, Loran and the others left.
The adventurers will likely receive a result by tomorrow morning, but Loran and his companions still want to try to get the result from the lord.
So they returned to the castle, came down to the castle again, and explained their situation to the guards, but the result was completely different from before.
"The lord is discussing important matters and will not be seeing anyone at the moment. Please leave, gentlemen," the guard said sternly.
Clearly, the right to request permission to leave from the lord was also gone.
"Let's wait until tomorrow morning. I believe that with the combined strength of so many adventurers, we'll definitely be able to get out," Lin Wen said.
Hearing this, everyone had no choice but to agree. With many adventurers and the Lord of Clam Town in charge, they believed that their safety could be guaranteed for a day.
Furthermore, if even Clam Town cannot guarantee safety, can Rockfall Town really be safe?
"Okay, let's find a hotel to stay in first. We've done everything we can, and everyone's exhausted. Let's take a rest!" Loran said earnestly.
"Alright, everyone go to the hotel to get ready. We'll talk about the rest later."
And so, the Dog Dagger Squad arrived at an inn for a temporary stay.
The innkeepers did not raise prices at such a crucial moment, because the lords had paid special attention to this and they dared not do so.
After settling into their rooms, everyone else rested, while Loran and Brian began searching for food in town. The rough bread they ate along the way was really tasteless.
Eating a full meal before sleeping will help with recovery, yes, that's it.
Loran took Brian to enjoy the local delicacies of Clam Town, including river clams and snails, all of which are very nutritious.
In addition, there are many talented people in Hamo Town, most of whom have mastered the skill of specializing in fragrant cooking, and the food they make is very delicious.
This was Brian's first time eating seafood like this. You know, these things have a very short shelf life and you can't get them in Rockfall Town. You can only get them in the nearby villages.
"Soft and delicious!" Brian said, his eyes sparkling, giving the fresh food extremely high praise.
After eating and drinking his fill, Loran set off on his way back to the inn, only to find that many adventurers had gathered along the way, creating quite a lively scene.
Loran wondered if President Violet was making some sensational remarks again.
Curious, he went closer to take a look, and what he saw stunned him. A group of adventurers, battered and bruised, had arrived in Clam Town, dragging a cage behind them containing a monster.
The monster was a giant kobold, whose wounds were even more gruesome than those of the team members. It lay slumped in its cage, its chest still heaving, seemingly clinging to life.
"Who is this person? What kind of monster is he dragging? How can this monster be so huge? To be able to capture such a creature is simply terrifying..."
"This town has been acting really strange lately. First, the town was locked down, and then this powerful adventurer team appeared. Does anyone recognize this team? I've never seen them before."
Among the many adventurers, someone naturally recognized the team. One adventurer shouted, "That looks like the adventurer team from our town, Sharp Spear!"
"Hey, leading the way is their captain, the elven ranger Elfin! That guy's a former member of the Blades of Excellence; not only is he an excellent archer, but he's also a master of magic!"
"The Blade of Excellence? I think I've heard of it! No wonder, this kobold looks terrifying, how could it capture such a monster alive..."
...
Loran paid no attention to the chaotic discussion among the crowd, but stared intently at Elfin.
This elven ranger... actually came back alive?!
And behind him was that enormous cage. Not only did he return alive, he also captured a kobold... several times larger than the kobold squad leader.
This could be considered the leader of the kobolds!
Loran kept recalling what had happened before. The goblin shaman who had been blocking them from the outside had gone to the center of the village to provide support after seeing the rain of magic arrows shooting into the sky.
In other words, the squad led by Elfin not only defeated the kobold and goblin shaman, but also captured one alive!
Loran had expected Elfin to be strong, but he hadn't anticipated this level of strength. The goblin shaman's magical shield alone was enough to render them helpless...
Despite the many scars on his body, Erfin looked triumphant, with the smugness of a strongman radiating from his brows, giving him a divine glow.
The other onlookers quickly made way for the adventurer team, whose destination was naturally the Adventurers' Guild.
Loran followed them all the way, and when they arrived at the Adventurers' Guild, the manager, upon hearing the commotion, immediately came out to give Elfin and the others a grand welcome.
Elfin also presented their adventurer credentials, which passed the anti-counterfeiting check, and the manager immediately began talking to Elfin.
In addition, Baron Zeya was also alarmed, and a special messenger rode over to invite Elfin to the castle, but Elfin readily declined.
Elfin tossed his flowing blond hair and said calmly, "I am an adventurer and do not obey your lord's orders. I apologize."
The adventurers who were watching felt very relieved to see this scene. The Lord of Clam Town had treated them so badly, and now that they had seen the Lord get his comeuppance, they were overjoyed.
"I need to take this monster back to my town, Rockfall, so I need to keep it here with you for the time being," Elfin said casually.
The caretaker stared in astonishment at the monster in the cage, unable to contain his curiosity, and asked, "Excuse me, sir Elf Ranger, where did you encounter this enormous monster? To be honest, I've never seen such a terrifying creature before!"
"The battle was extremely fierce. I don't want to go into details. I want to take my team to rest. Can you make some arrangements?" It was another casual remark.
The surrounding female adventurers stared in disbelief. Her stunning looks, flowing blonde hair, and soft yet domineering words made it hard for them to move!
"Sure, sure, of course no problem!" the manager said enthusiastically. Adventurers are the foundation of the Adventurers' Guild, and they certainly have no reason to mistreat such powerful adventurers.
Adventurer guilds in smaller towns pay more attention to this; the martial world is not about fighting and killing, but about human relationships and social interactions.
