Chapter 139: Arrival in Plassen
"Hey, hello everyone, where are all of you headed?" A group of enthusiastic adventurers approached Loran and his companions, asking curiously.
Seeing this well-equipped adventurer team, Loran and the others exchanged bewildered glances.
Lin Wen stepped forward to speak with them, "Hello, we are from Luoyan Town, may I ask who you are...?"
"Rockfall Town? No way! I heard you were attacked by a horde of monsters!" One of the adventurers looked surprised. "You... are refugees?"
"Theoretically speaking... yes." Thompson nodded.
"We are adventurers from Plassen. Judging from your disheveled appearance, you must have suffered a lot on your journey. We'll escort you to Plassen!" the adventurer team said more enthusiastically.
Seeing that the adventurer team seemed to have no ill intentions, and considering that they had been traveling for so long and their situation was indeed not optimistic, the group accepted their assistance.
"Thank you very much. What were you originally going to do here?" Loran asked curiously after expressing his gratitude.
The leading adventurer sighed, "We're heading to some surrounding areas to investigate the monster clusters. Everyone knows what happened in Rockfall Town and Clam Town."
"Our region has been very unstable recently, which has now attracted the attention of the kingdom. At the same time, we in Plassen are also organizing adventurers and reinforcements to go to your region to provide assistance."
"We just happened to run into you while we were out investigating, which is within our scope of duty. Trust us, you are safe now. By the way, I'm very curious about what exactly happened on your end."
The young adventurer, whose equipment looked excellent, asked curiously.
Looking at the adventurer before him, who possessed such excellent equipment at such a young age, Loran couldn't help but sigh, "You probably can't imagine, facing hordes of monsters, it was an experience akin to escaping death."
"The monsters were like a surging tide, and some of the more powerful ones possessed strong magic. If we hadn't been lucky, we really wouldn't have been able to escape. We even managed to evacuate about several tens of minutes in advance, and we still almost didn't make it."
...
Listening to Loran's description, the young adventurers from Plassen who had not yet experienced any great trials and tribulations were quite surprised.
They couldn't imagine what the scene must have been like, and at the same time, they felt a sense of admiration for the group. It was truly remarkable that they had managed to escape from such a difficult environment.
"Everything will be alright. With Plassen's defensive strength, it's practically impossible for those monsters to break through. The kingdom has taken this seriously, and we believe that one day you will be able to return home," the adventurers comforted them.
Thompson was filled with frustration at the thought. He thought about his life savings in Rockfall, his antiques, his antique shop, and it seemed like they were all going to be gone!
He had originally planned to travel with Loran and then come back, but now it seems that returning will be quite difficult...
The good news, however, is that he has finally mastered the secrets of the runes! Thompson couldn't help but recall his days as a scholar in Plasson.
"It's quite an experience, Plasson. It's been so long since I've been back," Thompson said with a sigh.
Lorraine paused, then asked curiously, "Thompman, so you used to work at Plasson?"
"That's right. I used to be a scholar in Plasson, but because of my talent, I was gradually ostracized and eventually had to go to a small town with less pressure." A trace of sadness appeared on Thompson's face.
"And what about Mrs. Juno?" Lorraine asked Juno again.
Juno smiled slightly, "Oh, actually my talent isn't that high anymore, and I think life in town is pretty good."
Seeing that the two didn't say much, Loran guessed there might be other hidden reasons, so he didn't ask any further questions.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, Loran and his group came into view fields of vibrant wheat, where many farmers were working.
There were also many patrolling guards around the wheat field, which suggests that this was the main grain-producing area of Plassen.
"Why is there wheat available for harvest at this time of year?" Finita asked, somewhat curiously.
The young adventurers explained enthusiastically, "Our wheat fields may be different from yours. As far as I know, the druidic spells used in each area of towns and villages are different."
"The druidic spells we use in this area are probably more advanced than those you use, and of course, the cost is also higher, so our harvest times don't overlap."
"More advanced Druid spells?!" Finita's small eyes were full of surprise.
After passing through the wheat field, the group soon came into view of the towering city gate of Plassen and the fully armed guards. The city gate alone gave people a sense of grandeur.
When Lin Wen saw the city gate, his eyes flickered slightly, and he clenched his fists, his thoughts unreadable...
When Thompson and Juno saw Plasson City, their eyes were a little red. They were so full of vigor back then, but time has passed and they are completely different now.
"Alright, welcome to Plassen. It's a bustling city where you can be safe and secure. We can contact the local Adventurers' Guild for assistance. Your situation is special, so please explain it to the Adventurers' Guild. We're confident they will take good care of you."
Enthusiastic young adventurers offered suggestions.
Loran and the others also expressed their gratitude.
The adventurers then led Loran and his companions into the city of Plassen, guiding the way.
Loran glanced at the overall structure of Plassen City on the way, and it was very similar to the appearance in his dream, except that many places had changed significantly.
The location of the Adventurers' Guild they arrived at was exactly the same as the location in the dream.
Loran couldn't help but marvel at the wonder of dreams. Even his own childhood memories weren't so clear anymore, yet the dream could recreate Plasson so vividly through those hazy memories—it was simply unbelievable...
The adventurers explained the situation of Loran and his companions to the guild leaders, who were astonished that Loran and his group had come all the way from Rockfall Town.
He let Loran and the others into the Adventurers' Guild, and then discussed the matter with the other managers.
The guild staff also provided Loran and his companions with water and warm food, demonstrating the courtesy and hospitality expected of a large city.
