Chapter 162 Fishman Attack!
Chapter 162 Fishman Attack!
The village chief greeted the approaching group warmly, quickly introducing them: "They are the Putt Adventure Team, here to hunt fishmen!"
"Since the hunting is a free commission mission, it is normal for this situation to exist. These gentlemen and ladies here are from the Dog Dagger Squad. You can get to know each other so that you can help each other when hunting fishmen."
"After all, we all share the same goal and a common enemy!" the village chief said with a smile.
Loran naturally noticed that Lin Wen's expression was a little off. He didn't know why, but he stepped forward and politely said a few words to the three of them.
"The Dog Dagger Squad, huh?! That sounds like a pretty good name! It sounds sharp and intriguing. Since we're all here, let's help each other out. Murlocs aren't simple creatures; they're much smarter than goblins!"
The captain of Put's squad spoke loudly in an aria-like tone, sounding like a very enthusiastic guy.
However, seeing that Loran and the others had a lukewarm reaction, they did not linger. After exchanging a few words, the two adventurer teams went to opposite ends of the village.
Loran then asked Lin Wen, "What's wrong? Is there something wrong with those people?"
Lin Wen shook her head blankly, her face sullen. "No...it's nothing."
Loran blinked. Lin Wen was already wearing her heart on her sleeve, but she was still putting on a brave face. So he could only look to Finita and Noah for help.
Finita stepped forward with concern and said, "Sister Linwen, how about we talk alone? Um... if you still feel it's not quite right, you can talk to Brian too! Some things are too hard to bear alone!"
Upon hearing that he had something to do, Brian quickly responded with a "Woof woof!"
Lin Wen forced a smile and said faintly, "Thank you for your concern... But I'm really fine, I'm okay, I'm just a little down, really, I'll be fine in a bit."
Seeing that the heart-to-heart talk was not going to make any difference, the group had no choice but to give up.
However, after a while, Lin Wen's condition did improve. Lin Wen was unwilling to talk about it, so no one asked him any further and they began to discuss the tactics for the next moment.
"If we want to kill the murlocs, there's only one tactic we can use: wait. After all, we can't go down into the river to find these guys."
"So these warehouses are the best bait to lure these guys. We'll cooperate with the guards to kill the murlocs and get the reward. That's the temporary plan." Loran took the initiative to organize the tactics and expressed his opinion.
Noah thought for a moment and asked a question: "The village chief mentioned that these fishmen always find some opportunities, which means that in the eyes of the fishmen, our arrival is nothing more than adding a few more guards."
"Those fish-men are not unintelligent. They understand that to obtain sufficient rewards, they need to pay sufficient costs, so I think they probably have dedicated scouts to observe them."
"If we want to completely subdue these guys, we need to create an information gap. Simply put, we need to hide our presence as much as possible so that they don't discover our existence."
"I agree!" Finita raised both hands in agreement.
Loran nodded. "Yes, let's analyze the site and see if there are any places worth hiding."
The group had basically finalized a plan and began choosing suitable locations to hide, waiting for an opportunity to arise.
But reality is always harsh; even late into the night, there was still no movement on the shore.
Loran and his companions, hiding in the warehouse, were nearly overwhelmed by the fishy smell emanating from it.
Loran was starting to miss the magic cloak he wore in his dream. That thing made him completely invisible as long as he put it on, which was much better than hiding in this stinky warehouse.
In contrast, Put's squad had built a campfire on the shore, not far from the warehouse.
Their idea was that if those murlocs appeared, they would just attack them without any further action.
As night deepened, most of the people in the small fishing village had already gone to bed, with only a small number of guards remaining on guard.
Just then, a ripple appeared on the water's surface near the shore, spreading continuously.
A fish-headed monster with a string of fins on its back surfaced from the water, its dark eyes scrutinizing the warehouse on the shore.

The sound was very faint, but it traveled with the current to the ears of the other fish-men.
Soon, ripples appeared on the water's surface, and the fishmen began to move in the quiet night!
The spotter in Put's squad heard a slight noise and immediately became alert. "Boss, they look like they're coming!"
"Hmph, so these cowards have finally shown themselves? Wait until they come ashore!"
After a brief ripple, the river suddenly fell into a deathly silence, as if nothing had ever happened.
However, the next moment, more than a dozen water columns shot into the sky, and a group of bipedal fishmen leaped out of the water.
They held spears made of some kind of coral, and their scales reflected a faint glimmer in the moonlight.
They made no unnecessary moves; their first objective upon landing was to grab their spears and charge at the guards.
"It's a murloc!" The guards didn't even have time to utter another word before they were forced to face the murlocs' spears.
The guards' plate armor gleamed, and they brandished their short swords at the fishmen, engaging them in a fierce battle!
The fishmen seemed to know that these guards were not easy to deal with, so they did not intend to fight alone. They attacked each guard together in groups of two or three.
Put's team also encountered a sneak attack from the fishmen. The fishmen had naturally noticed the adventurer team not far from the warehouse and marked them as variables.
Anything that could disrupt their plans had to be eliminated. The three-person adventurer team was besieged by more than nine fishmen.
Just when the fishmen thought they could easily defeat the guards by ganging up on them, a sudden change occurred.
A ghostly figure emerged from the darkness, and Lin Wen's sharpened dagger pierced the fishman's back, the sharp blade actually penetrating the fishman's scales!
That wasn't the end of it. A blinding flash of light appeared in the darkness, coming from behind the guards, causing all the fishmen facing them to be temporarily blinded.
The guards seized the opportunity and launched a decisive counterattack!
"Brian, let's go!"
"Woof woof!"
