Chapter 86 Thor

Deep in the dense forest, thunder roared.

Thor stood on a giant rock split by lightning, Mjolnir spinning in his hand, each swing sending up a blue-white arc of electricity.

The surrounding trees were struck by lightning, burning and falling, and the air was filled with the pungent smell of resin and charcoal.

Iron Man swooped down from mid-air, the thrusters of the Mark armor spewing out two golden-red trails of flame.

He raised his palm cannon, and two energy beams struck Thor precisely in the chest, the impact causing Thor to take a half step back.

It's only half a step.

Thor slammed his hammer down on Stark's breastplate, sending the golden-red figure flying like a baseball into the trunk of a century-old spruce tree, the sound of breaking branches echoing through the forest.

"Stark!"

Captain America cut in from the side, his vibranium shield tracing a silver-blue parabola as it struck Thor in the back of the head.

Thor turned and swung his hammer at the captain, sending the shield flying and forcing the captain to stumble back several steps before catching it again.

Several small bloody marks had appeared on the tiger's mouth, and his combat uniform had been scorched by lightning in several places.

Thor raised Mjolnir high, and the dark clouds in the sky began to swirl around him, with thunder gathering within them.

"Mortal weapons cannot harm Thor!"

Just then, the roar of the Quinjet cut into the noise layer of the battlefield.

Natasha hovered the fighter jet over the dense forest, and the hatch slid upwards.

Wanda stood at the edge of the cabin door, her red coat fluttering in the wind due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the cabin.

Her grey-green eyes peered through the smoke billowing through the forest and locked onto the blond figure who was gathering his strength.

She took a deep breath and jumped out of the hatch.

It didn't fall, it drifted down.

An invisible force of thought formed a buffer zone around her, supporting her body as she slowly descended. Her red coat unfurled in the wind, like a red flower blooming against the current.

Tony crawled out of the tree trunk wreckage, restarted his thrusters, and wobbled into the air. He watched the falling red figure, the optical sensors on his visor automatically focusing, recognizing the red jacket and the face whose anti-chaos magic coating he had just finished modifying last week.

"Isn't this the little girl who tore down my building last time? Are you here to cheer us on?"

Wanda ignored him.

She landed on the scorched forest floor, her psychic powers cushioning the remaining impact the moment she touched the ground.

She looked directly at Thor, who stood atop the giant rock, her grey-green pupils calmly meeting the electric gaze that belonged to the god of thunder.

I don't want to hurt you.

Thor's offensive stopped for a moment.

It wasn't because of hesitation, but because he sensed an extremely ancient magical fluctuation emanating from this young woman.

The undulating texture and hue were remarkably similar to the aura left behind by his mother, Frigga, when she cast a spell in Vanaheim.

"You are a witch." Before he could finish speaking, the warrior instinct in his chest overwhelmed the thoughts in his mind.

Asgard never backs down in the face of battle. Regardless of the woman's identity, since she is standing in the enemy ranks, he must first fight as a warrior.

With a flick of his wrist, Thor's hammer hurled towards Wanda with a piercing shriek as it tore through the air.

The hammer was enveloped in blue-white lightning, and wherever it passed, the air was ionized into a blinding network of electric arcs.

The captain lunged from the side, his vibranium shield blocking Wanda's path.

Thor's hammer slammed into the shield, and the shockwave snapped trees within a radius of tens of meters in half.

The captain held out for less than half a second before his shield was smashed away, and he was thrown to the ground by the impact, rolling several times before coming to a stop.

Wanda did not back down.

She raised her hands from her sides, and crimson chaos magic surged from her palms, weaving into dozens of fine energy chains in the air.

Each chain was like a living vine, bending and coiling in the air, locking onto Thor's body from all directions.

Thor recalled Mjolnir, swung it and smashed one of the hammers in half, but five more came hurtling from behind.

In an instant, it wrapped around his limbs and torso. The red light on the surface of the chain touched his skin, emitting a fine hissing sound of high-temperature corrosion.

Thor roared to the sky, his voice echoing through the forest.

At that moment, all his divine power erupted simultaneously, and blue-white lightning surged from every pore of his skin, shattering all the chains binding him.

He raised Thor's hammer again and charged toward Wanda, stepping on the giant rocks that had been cleaved by lightning.

Each step he took created a small crater in the ground, and arcs of electricity spread across the ground along his footprints, forming a scorching electric grid.

Wanda's feet left the ground, and her telekinesis carried her body backward.

At the same time, countless scarlet blades appeared around Wanda's body.

Each piece was as thin as a cicada's wing, its edges gleaming with a dark red glow unique to chaotic magic, slowly rotating around her like a group of disturbed piranhas.

She pressed her finger forward, and hundreds of blades shot out simultaneously.

The shrill whistles that tore through the air merged into a piercing buzzing sound, so dense it sent chills down one's spine.

Thor didn't dodge at all.

"A little trick!"

He didn't even raise Thor's hammer to block.

He is the Thor of Asgard, with skin tougher than any armor on Earth, and resistance to energy strong enough to withstand the impact of the Bifrost.

It was just a few hundred magically formed blades; they couldn't even cut through his skin.

The blade struck his chest, shoulder, and arm. As he expected, none of them cut through his skin.

But Wanda's goal was never to kill.

The blades melted the moment they touched his skin, like snowflakes falling into warm water, transforming from solid edges into flowing red light that seeped into his skin.

Each blade is a drop of concentrated chaotic magic, spreading deep into the skin and muscles, drilling into the blood.

Thor took a few steps forward, then suddenly stopped.

He looked down at his body, which was radiating a faint red glow.

A dark red, the color of chaotic magic, was seeping out of his veins, like a scarlet river slowly flowing through them.

He tried to summon divine power to fight against the seeping magic, but it was too subtle, spreading throughout his body, like trying to scoop up ink dripping into a pool with a fishing net.

His eyes gradually turned red.

He saw that the dense forest was no longer a dense forest, but his mother Frigga's garden in Waraheim.

Deep in the garden stood a woman in a blue dress, her back to him, watering a golden-leaved flower.

"Oh?"

Frigga, who was watering the plants, stopped what she was doing.

She stretched out her hand, her fingers gently brushing through the air, and the chaotic magic within Thor dissipated like morning mist meeting the sunlight.

Thor shook his head, his eyes gradually clearing.
