Warhammer: My buddy has too many secrets!

Chapter 8: Living Up to the Blood of Saint Geres!

The flagship of the Lamenters Chapter, the Mother of Tears Chapter Monastery ship, warped out of the warp and returned to the physical universe.

In space not far from them, the Cobra-class destroyer's left side appeared to be stuck to by a giant asteroid like a plaster.

This group of orc pirates did not appear to be wealthy. Their ships were mostly made of asteroid fragments and orc metal scraps. At this moment, on the asteroid that was close to the human warship, the orc mechanic was happily disassembling things and painting the symbols of the green-skinned orcs on the destroyer.

They clearly have their eyes on this ship.

"Sir, thankfully we have successfully escaped the subspace storm, but the entire group currently has 170 people remaining, and ammunition reserves are severely insufficient. The most serious issue is that we only have 52 sets of power armor available, and there is a severe shortage of mechanics inside the ship... We are currently unable to carry out proper repairs."

Inside the warship, Chapter Commander Malakin Forros listened to his subordinates report on the current status of the chapter. He was slightly tired, but after receiving the distress signal, he still took a deep breath and prepared for battle.

Looking at the holographic sand table in front of him, Malakin calculated the level of threat while glancing at his wounded comrades-in-arms beside him.

For them, the Crying Legion had just experienced the defense of Corilia, but due to the distrust of their allies and their unauthorized retreat, they suffered heavy losses. By the time White Scars' reinforcements arrived, the entire legion had less than two hundred men left.

But this was only the beginning of the tragedy. Even though they were born out of a curse, as descendants of Saint Jeremy, they still felt indebted to the White Scars.

But before they could have a chance to repay the favor, their chapter's monastery ships were caught in a warp storm, lost contact with the Imperium for a century, and were deemed annihilated by the authorities.

This time, they finally broke free from the warp storm. The Chapter Think Tank believes this is the power of the Emperor. The most direct evidence is that the real universe near this star system is extremely stable, and the core of this stability is the distant warship!

According to his original expectations, the warband would need at least another 100 years to escape the effects of the warp storm, but they had just been pulled back to the real universe as if in an instant.

Back in the real universe, a Cobra-class frigate was attacked by Greenskin pirates in the distance and sent out a distress signal.

Although all of this seems too coincidental, the Weepers, as the offspring of Saint Gilles and having forged deep friendships with mortals, would never allow the people of the empire to be threatened by aliens.

They immediately attempted to establish communication with the other side and had already ordered the shuttle to approach and prepare for a boarding support mission.

After the communication channel was established, to their surprise, even though they had been missing for a century, the ordinary people on the ship still seemed to know their identities.

"Holy Sons of Saint Geres! Thank you for your perfect response to our distress call! Due to warp disturbances, we were suddenly ejected from the warp and found ourselves in this area, besieged by orcs. On board, a Dark Angel of the First Legion is fighting a fierce battle against the greenskins!"

Is there only one dark angel on the ship?

Malakin was slightly surprised upon hearing this, but in his eyes, the First Legion's loyal style of operation was mysterious, and this Dark Angel might be lurking on this ship to carry out some kind of mission.

Legions have secrets among themselves, so he wouldn't delve too deeply into the Lion King's offspring.

What caught his attention was the first half of the statement, which said that the Cobra-class destroyer had also suddenly warped back into the real universe from the subspace due to subspace disturbances.

This is very similar to the situation they encountered.

If their early escape from the warp storm was a sign of the Emperor's intervention, then this Cobra destroyer must have been an instruction from the Emperor.

They were selfless in their mission to save the emperor's suffering people.

However, one thought lingered in Malakin's mind for a moment: was the dark angel on the ship related to their unusual escape from the warp?

According to the Warband Think Tank, this real universe is extremely stable, perhaps due to the influence of a certain holy relic?

But this idea only lasted for a moment.

As Lancelot's voice signal entered their audio channel, the dark angel's first words took them by surprise.

"Thank you for coming, noble sons of Saint Geres. Members of the Lamenters Chapter, I have heard of your deeds. I am Lancelot, and the Dark Angels will never forget your kindness, and I look forward to fighting alongside you on the battlefield."

Lancelot wasn't prepared to say too much directly on the audio channel.

This was the style of the Dark Angels, and Malakin, the Chapter Master of the Lamenters Chapter, was not surprised by Lancelot's brief words.

To his surprise, Lancelot, the Dark Angel of the First Legion, showed goodwill and respect to his Lamenters Chapter even after learning his identity.

The sound echoed through the sound array channels, instantly boosting everyone's morale.

Son of the noble Saint Jeremy!

They have never been called that before! You see, ever since the Cursed Army was founded, they have been disliked by any chapter, and were even abandoned by their own Ascetic Chapter during the defense of Corilia.

Thus, as remnants of the cursed army, they were born with a stain on their reputation and dared not even claim to be the offspring of Saint Jeremy.

Although the Weeping Ones also prayed for the gaze of Saint Geres, the Father of Genetics, and for the gaze of the Emperor, in the face of the loyal and glorious First Legion of Dark Angels, even Chapter Commander Malakin felt somewhat ashamed.

Now, by sheer chance, they were preparing to rescue a mortal ship, but unexpectedly, they met a dark angel from the First Legion and gained his approval, which was truly an exciting thing for them.

"We shall not betray the blood of Saint Gilles!"

Malakin immediately organized the remaining twenty Astartes of the Second Company to board the shuttle and prepare to use the preheated light spears to cut off the green-skinned orcs' space firepower directly from the outside!

At this moment, all the warriors are fully prepared. They will surgically remove the threat of those green-skinned pirates with the precision of a scalpel, and then join forces with the dark angels who respect them!

At that moment, Lancelot, having completed a brief exchange with the Weeping Legion, once again swung his sword and slew a green-skinned boy before him.

Meanwhile, the Krieg Death Soldiers behind Lancelot used incendiary guns to thoroughly purify the green-skinned corpses in an instant.

The situation on the ship is now fairly clear.

Those green-skinned orcs couldn't get going in front of him because of the inviolable mental domain, so they turned around and started looking for trouble with the cunning fellow.

With these two forces fighting amongst themselves, Lancelot's advance became easier.

The next step is to march directly to the orc stronghold and kill the orc warlord who leads this group of greenskin pirates. This will essentially resolve the orc crisis.

The remaining Gene Raiders, having been weakened by the Greenskins, are waiting for their Crying Brothers to arrive... It would be very easy to wipe them out.

The only slightly strange thing is... he is actually a fallen angel disguised as a dark angel.

Once this secret is leaked, although the rewards of the Second Legion's Oath remain unchanged, it will reduce one's combat score, which is equivalent to weakening one's combat power.

And... if this were to be exposed and the Weepers found out, I wonder if those madmen of the Dark Angels would directly use the Weepers as a sacrifice?!
