Game of Thrones: Dragons have three heads, not three-headed dragons.

Chapter 22 Journey to the Frontier, Skane Island

In the year 297 of the Aegonian calendar, the fortress in the disputed lands was still under construction. The forge at Orris Manor was still working at full capacity to forge longswords, spears, and other weapons. Orris, however, had a rare moment of leisure, because there was not much left for him to do. He was just waiting for the fortress to be completed so that he could overthrow the Kingdom of the Three Daughters in one fell swoop.

During this period of leisure, Oris spent most of his time in the training grounds, except for his daily patrols of the manor. Viserys, on the other hand, would come looking for Oris every day, drunk, urging him to send troops. However, Oris was really annoyed by Viserys's nagging. Thinking that since his birth, apart from Reis and Pentos, he had spent most of his time inside the manor, he felt restless and wanted to go outside to see the world.

Thinking of this, Oris could not suppress his restless heart, but after thinking for a while, Oris did not know where to go. The fact that he was with Viserys and his sister had probably already reached Robert's ears. If it weren't for the strict security of the manor, the assassins sent by Robert would probably have already attacked him. As soon as he set foot on Westeros territory, Varys would know.

Since he couldn't go to Westeros, Oris turned his attention to Essos. The Eastern Continent had many interesting places. Apart from the cursed Heartbreak Hill and the Smoky Sea, the other free trading city-states were good choices. Just as Oris was planning to go to Corhol or Norfolk, he saw a short man training with Daenerys at the training ground. After thinking for a while, Oris remembered that this man was Ramsay, Uncle Namir's adopted son. Thinking of this, Oris felt that the Wall was also a good option.

The lands beyond the Wall of Westeros are outside the Seven Kingdoms and are home to many magical creatures and artifacts. Oris is also very curious about what exists in the far north. As for the wildlings beyond the Wall, he doesn't care about them at all because their fighting ability is so weak.

Thinking of this, Oris waved to Rams. Upon seeing Oris, Rams hurriedly ran out of the training field. Although Rams, who had lived in the manor for a year, was still thin, his eyes were no longer as numb as when they first met. Oris had never asked Rams about his past, and all he knew was that he had been rescued by Uncle Namir on Skane Island. When Rams ran up to Oris, Oris asked, "Have you ever been to the frontier?" Hearing Oris's question, Rams nodded.

Upon seeing Rams, Oris asked again, "Do you know anything about the situation beyond the Great Wall?" This time, Rams shook his head. Looking at Rams, Oris slapped his forehead. This kid was only twelve or thirteen years old. Even if he had been to the Great Wall, how much could he remember? After sending Rams to continue training, Oris pondered alone. He had someone around him who knew about the situation beyond the Great Wall. Suddenly, Oris slapped his forehead. Wasn't he asking for something far away instead of something close at hand?

Uncle Namir often went to the frontier with his father, Inis, to trade. He must know about the situation there. With that in mind, Oris immediately approached Uncle Namir, who was helping out at the blacksmith's shop, and asked him directly about the frontier. He then compared the information he had with the information he had about the frontier. The situation there was basically the same as what he knew: multiple tribes of the ancestors were constantly fighting and plundering each other. The largest city in the frontier was Hardship Village. Inis had visited Hardship Village many times during his voyages to trade with the savages, mostly for food, cloth, and weapons.

With a year to go before the war, Oris drew a rough map of the frontier in his study, drawing on his memories from his past life and Uncle Namir's narration. He planned to go to Ghostwood to see the legendary Three-Eyed Raven and, if he was lucky, obtain the Targaryen clan sword, Dark Sisters.

After the plan was finalized, Oris summoned Uncle Namir and explained his plans to go beyond the Great Wall. Namir tried to dissuade him but ultimately said nothing. Next, Oris began preparing supplies and personnel for the ship. This time, Oris only took Ramsay, Durotan, and a few dire wolves with him. Although Ramsay was not close to Oris, he always maintained a very respectful attitude. In addition, since he grew up beyond the Great Wall, he would be a good candidate to be a guide.

A week later, preparations were complete. Oris left Uncle Namir to guard the house while he took 100 archers and 100 swordsmen and shieldmen, along with the sailors on the ship, and boarded a large ship to head north. Along the way, the ship first headed south to approach the Stepstone Islands. After avoiding pirate raids, it headed north along Westeros.

As they approached the Isle of Tars, Oris even considered going to see if the legendary sword "Lady of Justice" truly existed on the island. The large ship continued north for a few days until they finally saw the legendary Dragonstone in the distance. From the sea, Dragonstone was always shrouded in mist, making the buildings on the island appear both real and unreal. Upon closer inspection, one could even make out the blurry silhouettes of dragons on the buildings. Oris had considered landing on Dragonstone to see if there were any remaining dragon eggs, but then he remembered that Stannis had occupied the island for over ten years; if there were any dragon eggs, Stannis would probably have taken them long ago. Oris then abandoned the idea.

The voyage that followed gradually became boring. Apart from the Crab Island of the Setiga family, which gave Oris some interest, there was nothing else to care about. After more than a month of sailing, Oris's large ship passed through the Narrow Sea and gradually headed towards the North.

Even though it was still the long summer, the closer they got to the North, the less heat there was in the air. After a twenty-day voyage, Oris's ship finally arrived at Skaney, the home of Ramsay. Oris planned to visit Ramsay's homeland. According to the maesters of the Citadel, Skaney and Skags were the only remaining habitats for unicorns.

When Oris and his companions set foot on the shores of Skane Island, Oris took a while to regain his balance. Although there had been several opportunities to disembark for supplies during the voyage, Oris's striking short, silver-gold hair had kept him there until they reached the secluded island of Skane, where he finally felt the reality of being on land.

After the sailors dropped anchor, Oris left 50 soldiers to guard the ship, while he and the rest of the soldiers, led by Ramsay, headed into the depths of the dense forest. After walking for about two hours, Durotan, who was beside Oris, suddenly stopped, snoring loudly, and assumed an attack stance facing forward. Upon seeing this, Oris immediately ordered the entire army to go into battle readiness. Oris and Ramsay were in the middle with archers on the outside, and the outermost layer of swordsmen and shieldmen raised their shields, ready to deal with any enemy attack.

Just as Oris and the others were engrossed in their work, several indistinct shouts came from the forest. They were not in a language Oris was familiar with; instead, they sounded more like a combination of the cries of wolves and crows.
