Chapter 30 Defeating the Pirates, an Unexpected Gain
Seeing that the situation on the large ship was relatively stable, Oris decisively ordered his soldiers to row a surprise attack on the pirate ship. The soldiers immediately rowed frantically. Just when everyone on the battlefield thought that Oris and his men were about to escape, Oris led twenty soldiers to approach from the side and rear of the pirates. After Oris used the grappling hook on the small boat to connect to the pirate ship, Oris, wearing the Dragon Hunter armor, braved the rain of arrows and took the lead in climbing onto the pirate ship.
After Oris climbed onto the pirate ship, he drew Red Dragon and Night in his hands and slashed at the oncoming pirates, covering the soldiers who were still climbing on the chains. After killing more than twenty people, the remaining pirates dared not come forward. Seeing this, Oris quickly scanned his surroundings, trying to find the leader of the pirates, but to his disappointment, he could not find the leader. There was only a person wearing leather armor who seemed to be commanding the pirates who had boarded the ship.
Seeing this, Oris charged ahead towards the leather-armored man positioned at the junction of the two ships. Durotan, still fighting, saw Oris and, dodging the pirates' swords, quickly rushed towards him. When the leather-armored man realized Durotan was charging towards him, he instantly turned and ran, but Oris had already reached the man's rear, raising the Red Dragon sword to strike at his head. The man instinctively raised his sword with both hands to block, but his strength was no match for Oris's single hand. A loud clang rang out as the two swords clashed, and the leather-armored man's arms went limp instantly, his longsword embedding itself in the ship's deck.
Seeing this, Oris switched to wielding his sword with his left hand. With Oris's immense strength, the longsword sliced through the leather-armored man in two like a hot knife through butter, instantly spurting blood that covered Oris's entire body. After killing the leather-armored man, Oris showed no sign of stopping. Led by Durotan, he charged towards the enemy ship. Oris's soldiers, following his orders, worked in groups of five, hacking and slashing at the pirates on the ship.
After reboarding the ship, Oris immediately rushed towards Alysand. Alysand was fighting a burly man nearly two meters tall with a spear in hand. Seeing that the man had cornered Alysand, Oris stood on Durotan's back and leaped three or four meters, plunging the red dragon directly into the man's head. The momentum carried the man's head directly into the deck.
After doing all this, Oris immediately looked at Alyssa and asked, "Are you hurt?" Alyssa was panting, but she shook her head with difficulty. At this moment, Durotan also ran over. Oris left Durotan there and quickly ran to his room. After releasing the four direwolves in the room, Oris rushed back to the battlefield on the deck.
The battle raged into the afternoon until sunset before Oris finally cleared the pirates from the ship. Panting, Oris sat on the deck as Rams, covered in wounds, reported the casualties. Almost all of the soldiers Oris had led in the raid were dead, along with forty of the original crew. In this battle, Oris's side lost sixty soldiers and one hundred sailors, while the pirates counted approximately three hundred heads. Oris listened quietly to Rams's report, then asked, "What about the prisoners? How many are left?" Rams replied that the pirates captured earlier had mutinied when the large ship attacked and had all been thrown overboard. There were over one hundred newly surrendered prisoners.
Oris gritted his teeth upon hearing the number. He had tried his best to avoid pirates while sailing at sea, but he had still been targeted by them. So many of his soldiers had died. Oris wanted to kill all the prisoners, but considering that more people were coming on the new ship, he decided to let them go for the time being and deal with it when they returned to the manor.
Oris then ordered each prisoner to be interrogated, and then exchanged half of the sailors for the pirate ship, with Ramsay in charge. Only then did Oris return to his room to rest.
As soon as Oris entered the room, he collapsed onto the bed. The softness of the bed startled him. There, he saw Alexandra, who had grown into a beautiful young woman, half-naked, lying on Oris's bed. She said to Oris, "You protected me today, so I came over tonight. Don't worry, I haven't lost my virginity yet. Consider tonight my reward to you."
Oris was stunned by Alexandra's words, then said, "Isn't this a bit too early? Aren't you only 15?" Alexandra smiled and replied, "Actually, I'm already 16. It was my nameday a few days ago." Upon hearing this, Oris felt the blood rush to his legs.
After a sleepless night, Oris emerged from his room the next day refreshed, marveling at the breathtaking seascape. Before he could fully bask in this beauty, Rams's shouts echoed from another ship. Looking towards the sound, Oris saw Rams had shot an arrow carrying a letter a short distance away. Oris retrieved the letter and read it carefully. The contents were mostly interrogation notes. The leather-armored strongman with the two copies was the captain of this pirate ship. He had originally followed Salado-Sean, the pirate leader of the Stone Steps Islands, but after deciding to establish his own pirate fleet, he planned to escape with a large ship and three smaller ones. On the way, he intended to rob Oris to boost his men's morale, but he hadn't expected to run into such a formidable opponent. The most crucial information in the letter was that Rams had found a steel longsword near the leather-armored strongman's corpse, which the prisoners said the captain had stolen from Salado-Sean's treasury before leaving.
Oris burst into laughter upon seeing this. This trip to Westeros was incredibly fruitful for Oris. In addition to the supplies he obtained through trade and the animals he captured, he also acquired two Valyrian steel longswords and a dragon egg, and even met Alyssan.
As Oris was gloating at the bow of the ship, Alyssa emerged from the room fully dressed, followed by four direwolves. Oris was speechless at the sight of the four direwolves and Alyssa's affectionate interaction. Oris had never attempted to transform into these four direwolves, as they were originally intended for Durotan, and he didn't want any accidents to occur during the transformation process. Besides, the four direwolves were no longer of any use to Oris on the battlefield.
After Alyssa joined Oris's camp, the four direwolves gradually grew closer to her. This morning, Oris even sensed that Alyssa might have entered the consciousness of one of the direwolves while she was asleep.
