Below the Exile Star, at the Mary Fick Monastery.

Torches were lit again on the walls, and after the gunfire ceased, the Astartes were cleaning up the scene.

The warriors silently cleansed away the filthy remnants left by the demons, piling them in the center to burn. Then, the chapter clerk, leading several teammates, carefully scrubbed every inch of the tainted stone wall while chanting prayers and holding holy oil. Wounded Space Marines also received rapid treatment.

Kara didn't stand idly by; she and her subordinates helped.

They were combatants of the religious order and didn't know much about medicine, so they could only follow the orders of the warband's apothecary and assist him.

As the last Space Marine's wounds were treated, he thanked Kara in a low voice.

"Thank you, Sister."

Kara nodded at him, a gentle smile playing on her lips.

"Conserve your strength, warrior of the God Emperor. It's not time for you to rest yet."

Leo stood in the center of the hall, talking to Emil, the taciturn and deep-seated leader of the battle group who was still reluctant to reveal his true feelings.

"Your Highness, please come with me."

Leo glanced at him.

"Can you tell me what's going on?"

A bitter look appeared on Emil's face. He did not argue, but simply turned and led the way.

.

The door to the operations room closed behind him.

Leo, Kara, Emil, and a few exorcist company commanders remained in the room.

Emil took off his helmet and placed it on the table, then bowed solemnly to Leo.

"I had concealed something from you before."

"The gang that attacked us wasn't an ordinary roving gang. Their leader is named Rodrigo Nathan."

Kara noted down the name and asked.

"The traitor Astartes?"

“Yes,” Emil said, “but they have an old grudge against the Exiles, and it’s not just about raiding. They know our defenses, they know our entrances and exits.”

Leo recalled the demon's attack that had just occurred.

"Were tonight's demonic disturbances summoned by them?"

Emil remained silent and did not respond.

"They recently orchestrated a much larger incantation in one area of the planet, and what stormed into the monastery tonight was just a remnant of that."

His gaze shifted to the defense map on the table. At the junction of the rainforest and the swamp, there was an area that was not marked in detail and was instead painted red.

Leo could tell that he was still hiding something, but he didn't care.

His current goal is to help the Exorcist Brotherhood as much as possible in return for their assistance.

So what the secret is is not important to Leo, and he doesn't really want to know. There are too many people in this world with secrets, and Leo himself has many secrets.

"If our think tank commander were here, those demons wouldn't have been so rampant tonight."

A company commander of exorcists took over the conversation, his voice filled with barely suppressed anxiety.

"After the enemy summoned a large number of demons on Exile, the Commander of the Think Tank led his company to attack and defeat the leader of the Exile Demons. He took away our chapter's ancient relics."

Emil glanced at the officer, but did not reprimand him; he simply continued speaking.

"Heavenly Punishment Greatsword".

He raised his hand and pointed to an old relief on the wall. It depicted a sword, its blade engulfed in flames, the face of the swordsman worn away by time, leaving only the gesture of his hand gripping the hilt.

"The Greatsword of the Skybreaker is a sacred relic passed down through generations of the chapter, once wielded by one of the first Grey Knights. In the hands of a skilled psyker and a person of unwavering faith, it unleashes its true power. Only the finest warriors among us are worthy of it, and even if we cannot unleash its full power, it is sufficient to deal with the filth of the warp."

Kara didn't know much about the Demon Tribunal, but she had witnessed the Grey Knights' significance firsthand during the Battle of Terra.

"Since that think tank member was carrying such a precious artifact, why didn't you go with them?"

Emil pressed his palm against the edge of the table, his fingertips leaving indentations on the paper.

"Because we were blocked by Rodrigo Nathan's warband, we were supposed to support our brothers, but the traitors set up firing lines in the rainforest, keeping us tied down at the outer fortress. The attack you encountered earlier was also part of their plot."

"The enemy wants to divide us. The think tank commander has been led to the source of the demons, while we are entangled by the Chaos Warband. The monastery has also been attacked at night. If it weren't for His Highness's arrival, many of our brothers at Maryfit Monastery would be dead tonight."

The situation is already quite clear.

Leo looked at the map; since that was the case, he would naturally lend a hand.

The Primarch made a judgment: those Chaos Space Marines, though not ordinary humans, were not a real problem compared to what was churning deep in the rainforest.

"You can deal with those traitors," Leo said. "In my psychic senses, those demons are far more powerful."

Emil roughly understood what the Primarch meant, and he felt somewhat ashamed.

"It's truly embarrassing that you've gotten yourself into this mess."

"You agreed to my request first, so I don't mind helping you out with a little something." Leo pointed to the arm in the support frame in front of Emil. "You guys just got beaten up, so you're really not suited to face those things."

Leo turned and walked out.

"I've roughly figured out the location, just wait for my good news."

Kara immediately followed half a step.

"Your Highness, please allow me to accompany you."

"No." Leo stopped and looked at her. "You stay here and take the remaining nuns to assist the exorcists in defense."

Kara accepted the order without hesitation, pressed the grenades back to her chest, and bowed her head in salute.

"Yes, ma'am."

Emil stared at the Primarch who had suddenly intruded into the fate of the Exile, his weariness replaced by a deeper respect. He knelt on one knee, and the other exorcist officers followed suit.

"The Exorcist Legion owes you a blood debt, Your Highness."

Leo waved his hand.

"Let's deal with the immediate problem first."

.

Late at night, the gates outside the monastery reopened.

Rain poured in from outside, carrying the smell of earth and swamp into the underground passage. Leo emerged alone from the Maryfik Monastery, his golden power armor gleaming in the rain. Alone, with only his helmet fastened, he strode into the depths of the rainforest.

This is a minor matter and doesn't require the orbital support of the Holy Commandment.

There is no peace on the night of Exile Star.

Beneath the distant thunderclouds, ominous psionic fluctuations rippled through the depths of the swamp. Leo could only sense the general direction; although his mastery of psionic energy was already terrifying, he still couldn't pinpoint the monsters' exact locations.

The armor responded to Leo's power, activating its night vision function. The surface temperature gradually increased, causing wisps of steam to rise from Leo's body as he walked.

The gate closed.

Leo's figure disappeared into the darkness.

.

Shortly afterward, Kara received the order to receive them from the Holy Commandment.

The demon judge Catherine has awakened and, upon learning of the situation, immediately chose to take a shuttle to Exile Star.

The Holy Commandment required Carla's nun's guard to meet and escort Catherine.
