I am the Demon King of the Dungeon!

Chapter 82: Floor Inspection

Arthas was speechless. He didn't know that the floor boss, instead of waiting for the adventurers in the boss room, was actually making ice sculptures outside.

and also……

Where are the little monsters on the floor?

Kahn ignored the Frost Dragon, because he had already received intelligence that he could simply go directly to the BOSS room.

The deeper you go, the more exquisite the ice sculptures on both sides become. A group of ice wolf cubs are rolling around on the snow, one of them kicking its legs on its back, the ice patterns on its belly as fine as hair.

The ice sculpture of a snow eagle perches on a branch, its wings half-spread, as if it's about to swoop down at any moment.

The five of them walked and looked around, and before they knew it, they had passed through the entire ice sculpture zoo and found the BOSS room at the end of the walkway.

In the center of the room sat a treasure chest with a note attached to the lid: "Take it and go, don't dawdle. I'm in a good mood today and don't want to fight. —Frost Dragon"

Kahn opened the box, inside lay a suit of armor and six pieces of cold iron ore. He stuffed the items into his backpack and turned to walk toward the entrance to the next level.

Arthas saw everything.

"The boss on this floor has no desire to fight." Milo walked on, glancing back at the ice sculpture zoo, the clanging of ice chiseling still echoing. "It just wants to quietly create art, and that Mirror Demon King too..."

"If it weren't for this mobilization, I wouldn't have been to Shadow Hemkas for five years. It's quite entertaining." Liz put away her longbow. "This place is designed to suit adventurers of all kinds, offering both challenge and fun."

"That's good," Arthas said.

The sixth level, the Death Mine.

The dark mine tunnel was filled with the smell of coal dust and rust. The winch of the elevator was rusted shut, and the five men could only walk down the mine tunnel.

Milo walked in the middle of the group, staff held high, the orb of light at the tip of the staff casting flickering light on the rock walls on both sides of the mine tunnel.

A sound came from the darkness ahead, like something crawling in the ore pile.

Groom held his battle axe horizontally in front of him, his steps unwavering.

The sounds grew louder and louder, and suddenly a dark shadow fell from the top of the mine tunnel. It was a shadow spider with eight legs that were as big as a tabletop when spread out, and its body was covered with dark purple bristles.

"It's finally here!"

Groom swung his battle axe upwards, the blade precisely cutting into the joint between the spider's head and thorax. Dark green fluid spurted out, and the spider's eight legs curled up into a ball, lying motionless on the ground.

"Phew! I can loosen up my muscles now."

More sounds began to converge.

Milo raised his staff and erected an earthen wall on each side of the mine tunnel, leaving only a narrow passage in the middle.

Forced by the earthen wall, the Shadow Spiders could only surge forward from the narrow passage. Groom cleared a path covered with spider remains with a single axe stroke, as if chopping vegetables.

Following the map, the five of them quickly emerged from the massive mine, encountering goblins operating logging machines and murloc cooks on an abandoned ship.

As the first open floor in Dark Hemkas, without a map, everyone gets stuck here.

Arthas thought this design was great, as it allowed adventurers to repeatedly grind monsters on the sixth floor. This floor would also drop some rare materials, specifically designed to immerse adventurers in treasure hunting.

The door to the BOSS room was open.

The Shadow Spider Queen was perched atop her nest made of ore, her abdomen swollen as she laid eggs. She looked up and saw the five people, but she never left the nest.

Liz pierced her compound eyes with three arrows in quick succession, and Groom rushed up and added two more with his axe. The Spider Queen's corpse rolled off the ore pile, and the next second the egg sacs exploded!

Countless tiny spiders crawled inside the BOSS room.

Milo and Arthas simultaneously threw fireballs.

The area was cleared instantly.

The treasure chest contained the Spider Queen's Shadow Leather Armor.

"Oh! Another outfit set?" Liz picked it up, glanced at it, and stuffed it into her backpack: "Take it back to the newbie."

There's no problem with the sixth floor.

Compared to the unrestrained nature of the previous levels, the sixth level returns to the normal dungeon layout.

The seventh floor is the lava forging plant.

The air was thick with the pungent smell of sulfur. The entire forge was built directly in front of a lava waterfall, which cascaded down from a fissure in the dome and flowed into a wide lava river, its surface bubbling with orange-red bubbles.

On the opposite bank of the river, orc blacksmiths were forging weapons at their anvils, the sounds of hammering echoing and sparks flying.

The Cangmang team slowly crossed the iron suspension bridge above the river. The bridge was narrow, allowing only one person to pass at a time. The iron chains were scorching hot from the heat of the lava, and the burning temperature could be felt even through gloves.

Groom was the first to cross the bridge, his steps steady and firm, the iron chains beneath his feet remaining perfectly still.

Milo's gaze remained fixed on the churning lava beneath his feet, his lips moving silently.

On the other side of the bridge, the orc chief put down his hammer, wiped his hands with his apron, and shouted to the five men.

"For the tribe!"

Next up is another solo performance by Groom. As a heavily armored warrior, although his attack power is not outstanding, his stamina is better, and he can face the small monsters on the lower floors by himself.

The iron door to the BOSS room was thicker and heavier than those on the previous floors.

There were no patterns or runes on the door, only a huge relief: two giant orcs, each wielding a hammer, crossed in an X shape. Above the door were inscribed several lines of common language, the script rough but neat:

"Lava Forge BOSS Room, BOSS: Orc Master Craftsman. Warning: This level requires at least two players to activate the mechanisms. If you are soloing, please return."

After Groom dealt with the two giant orcs, the iron gate slowly rose, and a surge of heat rushed out.

The interior of the BOSS room is even more magnificent than the exterior, with a dome over thirty meters high and a wide river of churning lava running through the center, dividing the room in two.

On each side of the river, there is a cast iron platform, and on the edge of the platform stands a metal rod about half a person's height, the surface of which is baked by the high temperature and has a dark red sheen.

At the far end of the room, the orc master craftsman sat on a throne made of anvils and animal bones. He was twice the size of an ordinary orc, with iron-gray skin and a giant forging hammer in each arm, the hammerheads still covered with molten slag.

Seeing the five people enter, it slammed its double hammers on the ground, causing the ground to tremble three times.

"Adventurers!" The orc craftsman master's voice was like two iron plates rubbing against each other. "If you want to pass through my forge, you must abide by my rules. Two people must pull the switches on both sides at the same time to open the road leading to me. When you pull the switches, the river will spew fire. If you don't want to be burned to ashes, you'd better watch out."

After saying this, it leaned back on the throne, crossed its legs, and showed no intention of launching an attack, clearly extremely confident in its level design.

"Milo, Liz," Kahn ordered, "You two pull the switch. Remember, pull it at the same time, not a second off. I'll be observing the pattern of the flame waves."

Milo and Liz walked toward the cast iron platforms on either side of the river. The lava began to surge faster, and the bubbles burst more and more frequently, making a dense gurgling sound, as if it were being preheated.

"Three, two, one!!"

The two set off at the same time.

The switch emitted a dull mechanical roar, and the gears inside the wall made a continuous clicking sound.

Almost simultaneously, the lava in the middle of the riverbed suddenly exploded, and a wave of fire swept across the platforms on both sides with overwhelming force.

"Get down!" Kahn's voice pierced clearly through the roar.

Milo collapsed onto the platform, the wave of flames grazing the back of his head; Liz rolled to the side, her long hair spreading out as she tumbled, the ends barely avoiding the licking flames. The wave of flames crashed into the wall and dissipated, leaving a charred mark on the cast iron surface.

As the wave of flames subsided, the two continued to charge forward.

The second wave of fire surged up from the riverbed, even faster than the first.

"Get down!" Kahn shouted again.

Liz had already adjusted her posture, kneeling on one knee and lowering her body, flames sweeping over her head; Milo was prepared this time, lying flat in advance, hands behind his head, his posture as standard as if he were doing pre-battle training.

Then the third and fourth waves of fire surged up one after another, each more ferocious than the last, with the intervals between eruptions getting shorter and shorter. Milo and Liz took turns lying down, getting up, lying down again, and getting up again on the two platforms. Their movements went from clumsy to tacit. After four rounds, they were able to predict the timing of the waves based on the size of the lava bubbles.

Finally, the two pulled the levers simultaneously, the roar of the gears ceased, the lava in the river returned to its calm churning, and a row of stepping stones slowly rose from the lava river between the two platforms, leading directly to Gorum's throne.

The orc master craftsman rose from his throne, stretched his neck, and his joints cracked.

"Very good, excellent teamwork! Now, let me see what you're capable of!"

It raised its twin hammers, its iron-gray muscles bulging, and leaped from its throne, raising the hammers high above its head before slamming them down on Groom at the front.

boom!

Groom raised his axe to block.

Hammer and axe clashed, sparks flew.

Clang!

A shallow crater appeared in the cast iron ground beneath Groom's feet, but he remained completely still.

"this one?"

Groom used his arms to deflect the double hammers.
