Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Chapter 16 Make Totland Chocolate Available in Every Corner of the Universe
"What? You mean Mr. Willy Wonka, Mr. Gallagher, and Mr. Jones are all absent!"
"Um, aren't I right in front of you?"
"You know I'm not talking about you, Mr. Gallagher. Is it really impossible to contact them now?"
Charlie Gallagher shrugged helplessly at Colonel Brandon's question.
"Uncle Brandon, I don't want to tell you bad news, but that's just how it is. Why don't you wait a little longer?"
Colonel Brandon could only take a deep breath and sink into the sofa. What could he do?
Colonel Brandon felt even worse watching Charlie Gallagher leisurely munching on potato chips. This guy was just as annoying as his father.
Just like that damn low-IQ Carl Gallagher. There's no way anyone can like him.
"Give me a cup of coffee."
Colonel Brandon spoke up, ordering a coffee from the waiter, preparing for a long haul.
There was no way around it; as a highly influential supplier to the military, the Tottoland Group commanded respect from the armed forces. Perhaps some might disregard Tottoland, but he, a mere colonel, was definitely not among them.
Just like when Brandon learned that even the mentally challenged Carl Gallagher had risen to the rank of colonel, he felt as if he had stumbled into a god's house.
Colonel Brandon took the coffee from the receptionist, took a sip, and was surprised to find that it tasted better than anything he had ever had before.
The flavor was rich and mellow, so before he even put the cup down, he immediately took another sip.
"Uncle Brandon, please drink slowly. Drinking things that are too hot can cause oral and esophageal cancer. Perhaps I should have someone add some ice to cool it down."
Colonel Brandon felt awkward when he heard Charlie's words; even the nice words sounded off coming from the kid's mouth.
However, Charlie is right. He is not that old and has a bright future ahead of him, so he should pay attention to a healthy diet.
Colonel Brandon then placed his coffee on the table beside him.
"Elizabeth, add some ice to Uncle Brandon's coffee."
Upon hearing the instructions, Elizabeth quickly entered the room, carrying an ice cube tray. She carefully used tweezers to place two ice cubes into the coffee.
Suddenly Elizabeth's phone rang. She was holding an ice cube tray in one hand and pulled her phone out of the back pocket of her jeans with the other.
After glancing at it, she said to Charlie:
"Director, Miss Pepper from Stark Industries has arrived. She is Mr. Tony Stark's personal assistant."
Charlie feigned helplessness and said to Colonel Brandon, "Uncle Brandon, you see, even if Ms. Pepper comes, we'll have to wait."
"But at least it won't be boring with more people. After all, Stark Industries is also a partner of the military, so you should have common topics to talk about."
"Elizabeth, bring Miss Pepper to the reception room. Also, don't wear jeans next time, or I'll dock your year-end bonus."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes at Charlie and stomped out the door in her high heels.
Charlie didn't pay much attention and simply said to Colonel Brandon, "Elizabeth is Uncle William's daughter. She's here for an internship. She hasn't graduated yet; she's a top student in law at New York University."
"However, I won't be transferred from the Administration Department to the Legal Department until next week, so Elizabeth will be serving me tea and water for now."
Colonel Brandon didn't want to say anything more. He could recall his journey, how he had struggled for decades to be able to have coffee with these people.
If Charlie knew what Colonel Brandon was thinking, he would only laugh at him.
What do you mean by "the way he came from"? Does it refer to the time he and his father went to military school together with Mr. Willy Wonka's recommendation letter? Or is it his father-in-law, an active-duty American general?
Elizabeth quickly brought Pepper to the reception room, and as expected, she could only wait there with Colonel Brandon.
Meanwhile, Willy Wonka and his companions, who were waiting for them, remained in the Chocolate Windmill workshop.
Here, Willy Wonka finally gets to say what he didn't have time to say last time.
Everyone curiously strolled around the windmill workshop, then came to the open space outside to wait for Willy Wonka to continue.
Everyone was prepared. There was something Mr. Willy Wonka didn't mention before the last product launch, so now is clearly a good time.
"I want to expand the chocolate factory and sell chocolate all over the universe."
Willy Wonka spoke directly without any preamble.
"I've lived for over a hundred years and haven't aged at all. What your parents saw in me is what you see in me now. Frank knows this all too well."
"I come from another world, or, in the most common parlance of this world, from beyond. Not from another dimension, but from a world with absolutely no connection whatsoever."
"My power is chocolate, and my former position was the Minister of Chocolate. Now I want your help to sell Totland chocolate to every corner of the universe."
Willy Wonka was always good at being straightforward; he believed that everyone in front of him was trustworthy. Therefore, there was no need to hide anything; he believed in being honest with his own people and openly displaying his intentions.
The people in front of him were all people he had watched grow up, and they were his only remaining connection to this world besides chocolate.
If even they won't help me, then who else will?
Willy Wonka was very confident in his strength and abilities, but he also knew that he couldn't accomplish what he was doing alone. He needed help.
After Willy Wonka finished speaking, there was complete silence; no one spoke.
Everyone present knew that Willy Wonka was no ordinary person, and that he had personally bestowed great power upon them and served as their instructor, helping them master this power.
For these families, Willy Wonka's kindness can be described as a life-saving act. He gave them wealth, status, and power.
Frank was silent for a moment, recalling the war-torn days when he was orphaned and called a little wild dog.
And now? He is the respected Mr. Gallagher, surrounded by children and grandchildren, living a happy and fulfilling life. The entire family has transcended class barriers, acquired control of the means of production, and entered the mainstream of society.
Now that Mr. Willy Wonka has extended another invitation, will he have any other options?
It was the greatest honor of Frank's life to fight alongside Mr. Willy Wonka!
The connection between generations cannot be erased, and the children Willy Wonka watched grow up also chose to follow without hesitation.
The chocolate soldier approached Willy Wonka and the others, handing each of them a glass of wine taken from the wine vat.
"Let's drink this glass, and as family, let's move forward towards a common goal!!!"
