Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory

Chapter 17, the Silky Smooth Series: An Order from the Military

Stepping out of the chocolate factory once more, Willy Wonka had truly become the patriarch. Even Frank walked with a brisk pace, showing no signs of the old man's sluggishness.

"Ring ring~ Ring ring~"

After leaving the chocolate factory, Frank and Robert's phones kept beeping.

Robert took out his phone and looked at it. "Uncle Frank, your grandson sent me 147 private messages. I thought back to my date from the other day and only dared to look at the messages after confirming that she wasn't Charlie's type."

Frank felt somewhat helpless upon hearing Robert's words. Perhaps it was due to a generation gap between the older generation and the younger generation; he couldn't quite understand Charlie's attitude towards women.

He had fleeting romances that ended quickly, and while he was promiscuous, he never truly fell for anyone.

If you like them, just keep them as lovers; it's not like you can't afford to keep them!

Frank has lost count of how many lovers he has had, and to this day, he maintains a normalized, more than friendly relationship with three beautiful women.

Frank couldn't understand how Carl, such a womanizer, could have fathered such a freak as Charlie. He thought about himself; could it be a case of skipped generations? That didn't seem likely!

"That good-for-nothing Charlie, even with 150 million in pocket money every month, he still makes a fool of himself. I'm going to give him a good spanking when I get back!"

Frank knew Robert was referring to something; Charlie had been embroiled in a scandal with a hot model two weeks earlier.

Carl had specifically returned from the army and nearly killed Charlie. When Frank found out, he assumed that Charlie hadn't handled the aftermath properly, which had led the woman to consider marrying into the Gallagher family.

As it turns out, that bastard Charlie spent all his money on her, and never even bought her a decent piece of jewelry.

Frank's words added a touch of merriment to the atmosphere, and Charlie Gallagher's message made that merriment even more enthusiastic.

The military wants to purchase large quantities of silky milk chocolate! In actual combat, it has been found that silky milk chocolate can greatly enhance soldiers' combat effectiveness.

This is good news. The military has always been a top customer, on par with government departments, especially the U.S. military, whose trillions of dollars in military spending have countless suppliers eyeing it.

The Totland Group is certainly not content with being just a supplier of military rations.

Willy Wonka said to Robert, "Go see Colonel Brandon. As the Army's procurement representative, he deserves our due respect."

"As for Tony Stark, have Charlie tell Ms. Pepper that I have time to have dinner with the head of Stark Industries tomorrow evening."

When Robert Jones arrived at the reception room, Pepper Potts had already left, leaving only Colonel Brandon sitting on the sofa with a half-finished cup of coffee beside him.

"President, this is Colonel Brandon from the Army."

When Charlie saw that the visitor was Robert, he immediately stood up to show respect.

This isn't some ordinary worker; the Jones family, along with the Gallagher family, followed Mr. Willy Wonka. Robert Jones is now the head of the Jones family.

Charlie wasn't some fool who couldn't tell the difference between kings and queens. He just felt that Uncle Robert's gaze towards him today was somewhat mocking.

Charlie thought back for a moment and, confirming that he hadn't been competing with Uncle Robert for a woman recently, felt a little relieved. But he still felt uneasy, as if disaster was about to strike.

Robert struck a pose, extending his hand from afar. "Colonel Brandon, I've long admired your name. I asked Carl to introduce me a long time ago, but there hasn't been a suitable occasion."

Brandon didn't put on airs either; he shook hands with Robert very politely.

"Mr. Jones, the Army is preparing to purchase one million pieces of silky milk chocolate, but General Hodges would like to make a slight adjustment to the price."

"One million chocolates, that's a billion dollars. But Colonel Brandon, we all know that Silky Milk Chocolate is the core product of our Totland Corporation, the culmination of decades of research."

"This price? If we lower it any further, our profits might not be guaranteed. After all, product development requires a huge initial investment, and we need to recoup those costs."

"Of course, for the sake of our friendship, $800 per serving is the highest discount I can offer as president. Even if we discuss it at the board meeting, the directors wouldn't allow a lower price."

Colonel Brandon's eyes lit up upon hearing this, but considering the generals behind him, he ultimately did not act on his own initiative and simply recited the generals' requests verbatim.

"Mr. Jones, you misunderstand. The generals are asking for $1100 per unit. That's the price we can realistically offer. However, we hope Totland will quote the Department of Defense $1500 per unit."

"Mr. Jones, according to my sources, it's not just our Army. Air Force General Ross is also paying close attention to this procurement."

The Totland Group has been supplying military rations to the army for sixty years, starting at the end of World War II.

This is a long-term, stable, and large-scale supply, so there is a fixed limit to the amount of kickbacks and false reporting.

So when Robert heard what Colonel Brandon said, he was secretly surprised. He didn't expect those generals to have such big appetites. He didn't expect that he was the one who was petty.

The two sides quickly reached an agreement, and in order to better win the friendship of the military, Robert reduced the price of each chocolate by $50, based on the actual price paid by the military.

He was a fool not to make money, and ultimately reached a cooperation agreement with the military on the condition that the quoted price was $1500 per unit, but the actual payment was $1050 per unit.

Robert believed this was just the beginning.

On the other side, Tony Stark also had a miniaturized nuclear fusion device prototype ready, but he didn't show it to Pepper Potts or Obadiah.

Tony decided to take the device to Willy Wonka to discuss a collaboration and express his gratitude.

Then, she invited Pepper Potts and Obadiah to her home and surprised them by showing them the liqueur-filled chocolates to her closest family and friends.

Tony was certain that his mother would once again call him her pride, and he didn't care about his father's approval.

Of course, if Mr. Howard Stark is impressed by his excellent inventions and creations, he may reluctantly accept Howard's recognition.

After leaving the lab, Tony took a bottle of whiskey from the liquor cabinet. He wanted to use the alcohol to give his brain a quick relaxation.

Tony, holding a wine glass, clinked glasses with Pepper as she entered the villa.

"Ms. Pepper, cheers to my brilliant design!"

Pepper took Tony's glass and said with a smile, "Mr. Willy Wonka wants to meet you tomorrow night for dinner."
