Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory

Chapter 32 Police Chief: George Stacy

The Tri-Wing Building was destroyed, as was the space carrier, leaving only scattered remnants with some salvage value.

Even though much of the debris was cleared away in a week, large numbers of gangsters, like hyenas, didn't miss any opportunity to devour anything of value.

With S.H.I.E.L.D. being completely swept into the trash can, the Hydra that parasitized S.H.I.E.L.D. also faced a withering future due to the loss of its host.

What does the complete disbandment of S.H.I.E.L.D. mean? Nick Fury's spirit in heaven might cry out in anger: The defenses protecting the world have collapsed!

This is actually a completely impossible scenario.

Firstly, because Nick Fury's soul couldn't be in heaven, but in hell, and is probably wailing in Satan's hands right now.

Secondly, the disbandment of S.H.I.E.L.D. did not have any impact on the world's defenses. Various countries already had similar agencies, which smoothly took over immediately after S.H.I.E.L.D. was attacked and shut down.

These governments might even find that, without S.H.I.E.L.D., massive spending has ceased. They've achieved the effect of $0.5 for every $1 spent.

Good heavens! This is unprecedented efficiency; finally, it's not like spending $1 only yields a $0.1 effect.

Pierce's years-long plan to replace him has completely failed, which has put his position within Hydra in jeopardy and has also led to questions about his abilities from the other Hydra heads.

In a short period of time, he went from being one of the leaders within Hydra to a figurehead. Although he hadn't yet reached the point of being an insignificant pawn, he had lost his voice on some important issues.

Pierce was also helpless. He had insisted on getting Nick Fury into the position of director because he saw that Fury seemed to be very capable, but in reality, he was not.

Only an idiot could gain Pierce's support and secure his position as director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

This would make it easier for him to hollow out the entire S.H.I.E.L.D. and better develop Hydra.

Well, it turns out Pierce's judgment was correct; Nick Fury was indeed stupid enough to perfectly meet his requirements.

But they were too stupid, so stupid that they smashed the pot, and now no one has anything to eat.

Regardless, S.H.I.E.L.D. played a significant role in Secretary General Pierce's power as former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. His dissolution has now jeopardized his position on the Security Council.

But that wasn't the only thing bothering Pierce. There was also old Frank, whose first thing after learning that S.H.I.E.L.D. had been disbanded was to ask to meet with him.

Haha, they're all old foxes, why are they playing at some kind of ghost story?

Pierce didn't believe Frank was there to comfort him. He thought the old vampire was just trying to get him to fulfill his promise and take over the position of New York Police Commissioner while he still had influence.

But what could Pierce do? He was now a helpless man who had lost his source of power, and everyone wanted him to cash in on his influence before it completely dissipated.

"Pierce, be careful. It might take you a while to fall and climb back up."

Pierce was always shocked when he saw the cracks in the ground; he couldn't believe that someone could actually create such power with a cold weapon.

This is enough to change the landscape, and Nick Fury's trump card, a card of cosmic magnitude, was truly powerful. If it weren't for the existence of a supermodel like Willy Wonka, he might not have fallen.

"Frank, I'm not too old to move, so stop with the sarcastic remarks. My time is very precious now, and I have to work against the clock."

Frank thought to himself that Pierce was very righteous when he heard his words. He had thought that it would take some back and forth, but he did not expect Pierce to be so straightforward.

"Pierce, thank you. He's the person we at the Totland Group have our eye on."

Frank handed Pierce a photograph of a smart-looking middle-aged man in a police uniform leaning against a police car, with the New York Police Department gate in the background.

Pierce turned the photo over; a name was written on the back.

"George Stacy, OK, I got it."

"Frank, my words don't carry as much weight as they used to, but at least people are still listening. Once I get George Stacy into the chief's position, I won't owe you anything anymore."

Pierce was a little saddened, recalling Hydra's famous saying that if you cut off one head, two more will grow back.

However, the two newly grown heads have little to do with the one that was cut off, and he is now playing the role of the cut-off head.

Frank was fully aware of Pierce's thoughts and feelings. However, he wouldn't offer any comfort or help Pierce make arrangements for his future, even though he had the power to do so.

Frank and Pierce were old acquaintances, but he was even older with Hydra. Hydra, which was practically one with the Nazis, was the very organization responsible for his family's destruction.

Furthermore, the Totland Group started out based on World War II, which is no different from starting out by fighting Hydra.

Frank will never forget his roots!

The two of them slowly walked along the crack toward the ruins of the Tri-Wing Building.

There were many construction workers clearing away the rubble. The land had been bought by Stark Industries, and Tony was said to be planning to build it into a small spaceship production center.

Pierce seemed to suddenly remember something, and asked Frank:

"Is Black Widow still in your hands?"

Frank was all too familiar with that title; the fact that Black Widow was preparing to apply for the job as his assistant to infiltrate Totland was the beginning of this whole series of events.

He certainly wouldn't forget the woman covered in weapons.

"She's still here? What? Is she one of yours?"

"She's not one of my people. Someone just asked me to inquire with you. If possible, they'd like to redeem her."

Frank became interested. S.H.I.E.L.D. had been disbanded, and the agents had all gone home. At a time like this, someone still cared about Black Widow, who had been detained in Tottenham for a long time because of a failed mission.

"Her situation is complicated and can't be explained in a few words. But I suggest you tell that person to consider her dead."

Frank's mind drifted to that face, still beautiful even as a chocolate statue; it was absolutely qualified as a work of art.

Frank wasn't sure if he could transform back into a human from this chocolate sculpture state.

That's Mr. Willy Wonka's territory.

"Okay, I understand. I'll make him give up."

Pierce was merely fulfilling his duty as an intermediary, and now that his mission was complete, he had no concern for Black Widow's life or death.

After Frank left, Pierce took out the photo again and examined it carefully. He wanted to arrange for someone to investigate what kind of background this George Stacy had.
