Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory
Chapter 40 Obadiah, I'm the CEO
"Tony, you'll regret this!"
Obadiah couldn't understand why Tony didn't take the opportunity to expand his profits, when it was clearly a great opportunity.
Tony also has his own principles; he now meets with Howard and Maria daily using liqueur-filled chocolates. This has somewhat toned down Tony's playboy persona, allowing him to focus more on business operations.
"Obadiah, I'm the CEO!"
Tony also slammed his hands on the table, directly confronting Obadiah on this matter.
"The livelihoods of tens of thousands of Stark Industries employees are on my shoulders!"
"The weapons division can be temporarily shut down; we just need to shift our focus to the space battleship project. But I will absolutely not allow the sale of the steel armor—that's my technology!"
Obadiah left with a livid face after hearing this. Both sides made concessions, but the conflict remained.
Pepper looked at Tony with some concern. This was the first time in so many years that Tony and Obadiah had such a heated argument face to face.
Tony gave Pepper a reassuring look.
"Pepper, don't worry, this is just a business disagreement. Once the spaceship is completed, all these problems will be resolved."
Tony focused entirely on the spaceship project and his armor modifications, spending his days either in the dock or in the lab.
Willy Wonka lived a similar life, shuttling between the dock and the chocolate factory.
Unlike Tony, Willy Wonka knew that the Marvel Universe was not empty; it contained countless forces.
The three major cosmic empires are the Skrull Empire, the Kree Empire, and the youngest Shi'ar Empire, as well as the Asgardian gods, whose territory is limited but whose strength should not be underestimated.
Therefore, setting off with only a single, weak transport ship would likely only be a gift to the plunderers.
"Tony, I think a warship should have a main gun that can be used to strike enemy warships, or even planets, at long range."
Willy Wonka stood in the dock, looking at the prototype of the more than 700-meter-long warship, and told Tony about his ideas.
"Willy Wonka, with current technology, it's difficult to build a main gun capable of directly striking planets from space. If we consider this warship in the context of the development of naval vessels worldwide, it can only be considered a sailing battleship."
"However, it should be able to complete simple escort missions perfectly. With the accumulation of technology, the next generation of warships will definitely meet your requirements."
Tony was also helpless. Currently, Earth does not have the materials to support such a large energy level reaction. According to Willy Wonka's description, he wanted the warship's main gun to hit the target from hundreds of millions of kilometers away.
It's too difficult to achieve right now!
Willy Wonka didn't say much; he knew his idea wasn't realistic at the moment.
However, the technology of the first-generation warships was shared by Stark and Tottoland. With the technological reserves, Tottoland's engineers would then conduct their own trials.
Willy Wonka isn't worried that his ideas won't come to fruition, because in the universe, what matters is strength and connections.
With the Space Stone in hand, he and the Black Order are destined to be enemies, with no possibility of reconciliation whatsoever.
Thanos will not give up his ideal: to collect the Infinity Stones to eliminate half of all life in the universe and relieve the pressure on the cosmos.
Willy Wonka also had his reasons for not letting go; he needed an Infinity Stone to provide the endless energy for the fruit tree to grow.
The energy of one Space Stone is enough for the Chocolate Fruit Tree to thrive; he doesn't need any more stones, but he absolutely cannot lose the one he has.
After the Chocolate Fruit evolved further, Willy Wonka's strength underwent a qualitative leap.
If Willy Wonka were facing Carol Danvers at this moment, he would have ended the fight decisively.
Willy Wonka's original plan was to send out a merchant ship to test the waters in space. However, after the Space Stone accelerated the evolution of the Chocolate Fruit, he changed his mind.
Since the Tottoland Group plans to expand into the universe in the future, it might as well occupy a suitable planet in the universe as its headquarters as soon as possible.
Earth was still too advanced for Willy Wonka. Later on, with various major events, especially with big names like the Ancient One and Odin keeping a close eye on him, Willy Wonka was somewhat hampered in his actions.
It would be best to move the base off Earth as soon as possible. Since we cannot "protect my Earth", rebuilding a base on another planet is the best option.
Tony's shipyard is built on an island that was purchased by Stark Industries years ago and has now been transformed by Tony with a huge investment, resulting in its current form.
This island is capable of completing all the steps required to build a spaceship.
With such a massive undertaking, keeping it secret was extremely difficult. Tony could only release false information continuously, creating a mix of truth and falsehood in the rumors circulating outside, thus buying himself time to build the spaceship.
"Willy Wonka, we'll have the finished product in three months, and we can start assembling the crew for our first voyage now."
Stark Industries doesn't actually lack astronauts; manned flight is one of Stark's strengths. With enough talent, assembling a flight team of several dozen people shouldn't be a problem.
However, compared to the number of astronauts needed for a Starfleet voyage, a few dozen people are far too few.
Even though the first generation of spaceships and ships were small and could only accommodate a limited number of crew members, each ship still required an average of twenty or so people.
Stark and Totland currently have less than one-fifth of the required number of personnel.
Willy Wonka had planned this all along, and he personally led the expedition. It didn't matter that they weren't astronauts; with him there, the Totland personnel would all have the ability to survive short periods in space.
"Tony, we might not need too many people. Your Iron Man suit can be very useful."
On this island, which serves as the production base, lies Tony's Iron Man armored force, consisting of thirty older models of armor.
All of these suits of armor are controlled by Jarvis and can be deployed to the battlefield immediately in critical situations.
It can be used for combat, and naturally it can also be used for basic tasks.
Tony accepted Willy Wonka's suggestion that he design some non-combat robots to fill crew vacancies.
"Willy Wonka, if we use a large number of mechanical crew members, we can set sail in three months. Perhaps I can build a simple production line on the ship to produce Iron Man armor."
Like Willy Wonka, Tony will personally lead this voyage. The vast universe is a man's dream, and Tony is confident he can lead his crew to conquer the cosmos.
Tony thought to himself: Perhaps this time, only by handing Stark Industries completely over to Obi can he feel at ease.
