Marvel: Wonka's Chocolate Factory

Chapter 52 A Child's First Words, The Beginning of Happiness

Banner suddenly regretted not carrying a weapon with him, otherwise he wouldn't have felt so helpless in the face of this monster.

Banner ignored the issue of the giant octopus appearing in the river; in this bizarre world, it's not unusual for an octopus to crawl out of a river full of milk.

Seeing that Banner didn't react, the giant octopus slowly crawled forward, wanting only an apology from the human before it. Being a cleaner isn't easy; maintaining the food safety of an entire river is hard work. This human was adding to its workload—it was utterly despicable.

But the octopus's actions terrified Banner. Due to prolonged physical exhaustion and the fear of the horrifying scene before him, Banner was now unable to move his legs.

Banner had no time to analyze the giant, talking octopus's intentions; now, unarmed, he was a lamb to the slaughter. Even if the octopus tried to drag him into the milk, Banner would be powerless to resist.

"I'm sorry, I really have no other choice."

Banner muttered to himself with some guilt, then suddenly slapped himself hard with his hand, each slap harder than the last, until half of his face was red.

Driven by fear, pain, and an inner need for the Hulk, Banner's skin began to turn green, and his entire body began to contort, gradually growing larger and stronger as he twisted.

Now it was the white octopus, acting as the cleaner, that was frightened. It hadn't expected this person to resort to self-harm to avoid apologizing. Mr. Willy Wonka had never told it that humans were so terrifying, capable of transformation!

Banner's consciousness grew weaker and weaker as he sensed another consciousness awakening within his body, a consciousness that was extremely violent and powerful.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to let him out."

Banner felt a little guilty, after all, it would be such a pity if Hulk destroyed such a beautiful place, but there was nothing he could do.

After saying this, Banner's consciousness went silent, and then Hulk appeared.

"Hulk~"

But this time, Hulk was different from what Banner had expected. Instead of smashing and destroying everything as soon as he appeared, he observed his surroundings with a bewildered look.

The smell in the air was pleasant and somewhat familiar to Hulk, causing him to unconsciously restrain his inner rage.

"Hey, big guy, do you remember me?"

Willy Wonka emerged from the shadows and stood before Hulk. He waved, sending the dutiful giant octopus back into the Milk River.

Seeing that Willy Wonka did not pursue the matter, the giant octopus spoke in human language: "Thank you, Mr. Willy Wonka. I will definitely work hard." Then it slid back into the river and disappeared.

Looking at the small man in front of him, Hulk's hazy memories immediately flooded back: this was a remarkable and kind person.

Hulk's simple emotions led him to instinctively approach Willy Wonka, and as Willy Wonka slowly drew closer, Hulk neither retreated nor attacked.

Hulk was somewhat taken aback by Willy Wonka's approach; he wasn't sure how to react. His heightened senses told him that Willy Wonka posed a threat, yet the man had shown goodwill.

Hulk is intelligent, but he doesn't know how to use it. No one has ever taught him how to deal with problems.

But Hulk's instincts told him to use his superpowers to solve the problem.

If it were anyone else, Hulk would have already punched them, as he always has. But this time, for no apparent reason, Hulk recalled the feeling of Willy Wonka stroking his head.

"It seems you remember me. Can you understand me?"

Willy Wonka had already reached the Hulk. The nearly three-meter-tall Hulk was a size larger than Willy Wonka, and Willy Wonka had to raise his hand to touch the Hulk's shoulder.

The Hulk wasn't particularly large when he was first born, and he grew up with anger, but no one seemed to care what he went through during his growth.

"If you can understand what I'm saying, just nod."

Hulk looked down at Willy Wonka, who was standing very close to him, and nodded somewhat sheepishly. He could understand Willy Wonka's speech.

Hulk is naturally able to understand English, which may be due to Banner's influence, but Hulk is not yet able to gain more knowledge from Banner.

So right now, Hulk is just an illiterate savage who can understand English but can't comprehend it.

What others say seems like muttering and obscure to Hulk, but he can clearly understand what Willy Wonka means.

This was the first time Hulk had ever had a normal conversation with a person since he came into this world. This feeling was like an electric current striking his brain, giving Hulk a sense of sudden enlightenment.

Hulk tried to speak, "Hulk~ Hulk~"

But all that came out was a low, hoarse roar, which made Hulk frantically move his body, but the more anxious he became, the less he could find that feeling.

"Hulk, don't rush, it's okay to take it slow. Let's sit down and talk."

Willy Wonka pointed to the ground, indicating that Hulk could sit down and take his time.

Hulk paused, then tried again to speak: "Hulk~ Hulk~ Sit~"

"Yes, sit down and talk. Sit cross-legged like I do."

Willy Wonka demonstrated for Hulk by sitting cross-legged on the grass and pointing to the ground.

"Hulk, try sitting down. We can sit down and have a chat."

Hulk, mimicking Willy Wonka, sat down cross-legged on the ground. Willy Wonka felt a distinct tremor.

boom~

The nearby Milk River was also affected, with ripples spreading across its surface.

"Hulk is awesome! You can say whatever you were thinking earlier."

Hulk fell silent, trying to organize his thoughts. This newborn soul was attempting to tame his speech organs and stop himself from uttering strange roars.

He felt an unprecedented kindness from Willy Wonka. As a being born from Banner, Hulk had a special understanding of Willy Wonka's kindness towards him.

Hulk thought of how General Ross had been so eager to protect Betty when he was just born.

He didn't know Ross and Betty's names, but he remembered that Betty smelled of Banner, and that the woman who smelled of Banner shouted the words when the old man had a group of thugs beat him up.

Hulk was trying, his dark green face turning a faint red. After a few attempts, Hulk started to get impatient again.

Willy Wonka did not urge Hulk, but waited quietly.

It seems that learning is a difficult hurdle for everyone; it's truly remarkable that it could make the Hulk's face turn red.

Hulk tried a few more times and seemed to have grasped the knack. He tried to speak, and although his voice was still hoarse, it was no longer a meaningless roar.

"Hulk...Hulk...you...Hulk's...dad~"

"Hulk~ Daddy~"

"You~ Hulk~ Dad~"

"You're Hulk, Daddy!"
