One Piece: Starting from Awakening the Cosmo at Marineford
Chapter 84 A huge dragon! Lafayette escapes.
Basque Chote took a sip of his drink and laughed, "Hey, Lafayette, Teach will be thrilled if we take this kid back!"
Lafayette squinted at Aaron, like a hawk eyeing a hare: "Not bad. This trip was well worth it; we even had an unexpected bonus. We're lucky."
Fombardy burst into laughter: "Boss, did you hear those boasts they were spouting? They're hilarious!"
Lark did not relax; he still held his gun and aimed it at Lafayette.
Basque Chote seemed to become quite happy as well, laughing loudly, "Hey, are you guys scared out of your wits?"
Aaron smiled and shook his head: "You think you're lucky? Wait a minute, I hope you still think so."
"Heh, you marine, who do you think you are? Garp? Or Akainu?"
Lafayette held a cane in one hand and pulled his hat brim down with the other, his eyes filled with mockery and disdain.
Basque Chote gulped down a few mouthfuls of wine, exhaled, and loudly commanded, "Men, kill Fossa's henchmen, then go to town and make each of them hand over 5 Berries. Anyone who refuses, just kill them."
After a chaotic battle, Laffitte and Basque Jot's pirates had a little over 200 left, while Fossa's hundred or so men were almost all dead.
The rest were already seriously injured and would soon die if they did not receive timely treatment.
More than two hundred pirates stabbed their opponents, who were still groaning in pain on the ground, to death. Wielding their swords, they marched down the street to rob and plunder.
Driven by their thirst for money and killing, they appeared unusually agitated.
But someone still blocked their way.
"what?"
The pirates in front saw Aaron's face clearly and quickly turned around, not expecting Aaron to move so fast.
Even Lafayette became somewhat interested in Aaron, staring at him and looking him up and down.
Aaron said, "Finbuddy, go and destroy their ship. Lark, get on the roof and find a good spot."
"Don't worry, boss!"
Finbuddy laughed loudly, and his body began to change.
Lark also leaped onto the roof, holding his gun and continuing to aim down.
"It's a dragon! A huge dragon!"
Pirates were already pointing at the pink dragon in the sky and exclaiming in surprise.
Lafayette and Basque Jotte were also dumbfounded, staring blankly at the giant dragon that flew from the sky to the sea, speechless with astonishment.
Lafayette, however, was more astute and hurriedly said, "Jote, stop him! He's going to destroy our ship!"
Chote waved his right hand, and an air bubble appeared beneath his buttocks, floating into the air. He then took a swig of wine: "Wine Master's Furnace!"
A large ball of fire rushed towards the pink dragon.
Seeing that the dragon neither dodged nor avoided him, Jote was very smug: "Marine soldier, prepare to die!"
To everyone's surprise, the flames felt like a tickle to the dragon, and the dragon seemed to enjoy it.
"Heat Breath!"
A pillar of fire spewed from the mouth of the pink dragon, far more spectacular in scale and temperature than the fire breath of Basque Jot.
With a loud bang, the pirate ship, made up of several giant logs, instantly turned to ashes, leaving only some wood fragments on the sea.
Basque Chote stared wide-eyed. "How is this possible?!"
Laffitte realized: "This is Kaido's Beasts technique, how could it be..."
In the instant they were stunned, screams rang out from the street.
The screams of agony blended together, seemingly in a rhythmic fashion.
When Lafayette came to his senses, he saw that half of his 200-plus men had already fallen. He was filled with panic and rage: "Damn marines! Jote, forget about the ship for now, kill these marines and seize their warship!"
After speaking, Lafayette drew his sword and charged at Aaron without waiting for Basque Chote's response.
Aaron was engrossed in the killing, ignoring Laffitte's sword, and dodged left and right among the remaining hundred or so pirates, his hands never stopping.
In his haste, Lafayette accidentally stabbed two of his men, which enraged him.
"Damn bastards! Spread out! Spread out!"
The pirates then scattered in all directions, but the streets were not wide and Aaron was too fast. In an instant, more than a dozen pirates fell down.
Lafayette's originally gloomy face was now flushed red with anger, and the veins on his forehead were contorted.
But he couldn't do anything about it; Aaron was too fast, so fast that he couldn't even see his shadow clearly.
Even with all his Observation Haki, Lafayette was still unable to predict Aaron's movements.
"Damn it! How could it be so fast?"
Lafayette was already considering quitting, but he was unwilling to give up because he hadn't yet completed the task assigned by Blackbeard.
With so many of his underlings dying here, he wouldn't be able to explain it when he went back.
Lafayette had a sudden inspiration and charged straight at Fossa with his rapier.
"Marine, if you don't stop, I'll kill Fossa right now!"
In just over ten seconds, Aaron killed more than a dozen pirates.
Lafayette gritted his teeth, disregarding everything else, and thrust his sword toward Fossa's heart.
"Bang!"
"Ding!"
After the shot rang out, a bullet struck Lafayette's sword almost simultaneously.
Lafayette's wrist twitched, and the rapier almost slipped from his hand.
"Damn it!"
Lafayette's anger intensified, and instead of stabbing, he slashed at Fossa's throat.
The sword was about to sweep across when it suddenly stopped. Lafayette tried to exert force, but his arm remained motionless.
Aaron said coldly, "I said I would kill him with my own hands."
Just as Lafayette was about to unleash a torrent of curses, he felt a sharp pain in his wrist.
Then there was a "click" sound.
Aaron twisted Lafayette's wrist and broke it.
Lafayette cursed in pain, "Ah! Damn it! F...!"
Aaron casually tossed him aside, turned around and rushed over to continue chasing the remaining forty or fifty pirates.
Before Basque Jote could react, less than half a minute later, most of his men were dead, and even Lafayette lost his hand. He was completely dumbfounded.
"Jote! What are you standing there for?! Make your move!"
Lafayette got up and angrily cursed his teammate who had done absolutely nothing.
"Oh!" Basque Chote responded, and just as he was about to move, a dark shadow loomed over his head.
He felt a tightness in his back, looked up and saw a pink dragon, with flames already appearing in its mouth.
"Oh my god!"
Basque Jote cried out in alarm, but before he could dodge, the heat breath slammed him into the ground, creating a deep crater.
Lafayette was terrified, knowing that he had no chance of blocking this heat attack either. He didn't care about saving his companions. Wings suddenly appeared on his back, flapped twice, and flew into the air, disappearing in a flash.
"Boss, should I go after them?" asked Finbdi.
Aaron said, "No need. We need to leave one alive so he can go back and report. That way, Blackbeard will know who killed his men."
Finbuddy landed back on the ground, transformed into human form, grabbed Basque Jot from the deep pit, and threw him at Aaron's feet.
