18. You dare steal my horse!?

pain!

it hurts! !

My brain is trembling!!!

Norn woke up with a start, his clothes soaked with cold sweat.

The near-death experience he had just had left him with phantom pain that he could still feel on every inch of his skin.

"What was that thing just now!?"

Norn recalled the blue magic circle and felt a chill run down his spine.

Compared to that magic, Barnabas seemed insignificant, like a cannon hitting a paramecium!

"Gentlemen, this guy's awake."

When Joso saw Norn wake up, he turned to tell Louisa and the others.

Louisa walked up to Norn, her eyes slightly red:

"Sir, have you seen a red-haired girl around your age here, carrying a sword with dragon blood inscriptions?"

Norn immediately recognized the person as Louisa, who had previously been infected with the mad virus, but it seemed that she did not recognize him.

"Um...they, they left," Norn answered truthfully.

Upon hearing this news, Louisa became agitated: "Where did they run off to?"

"I don't know where they were going, I just remember they were running that way," Norn pointed in the direction.

"They said there were monsters in the cave, so they ran away. I saw a lot of monsters outside, and there was a Barnabas, which was really scary, so I buried myself in the cave and hid."

Norn didn't intend to reveal his abilities; it wouldn't be good if he were recognized and taken back to Baseron.

"You're really brave, you can even sleep with a rock buried underneath you." Baron grinned.

"Now that the young lady has escaped, we still have hope of finding her. Let's set off now."

After Lisfield finished speaking, Josso pointed at Norn and asked:

"Should we bring this guy along?"

"Take him with you; it's dangerous to leave him here alone," Louisa replied.

Norn didn't intend to get too close to them, and immediately put on a sweet act:

"Ugh! I'm not going! There are so many terrifying monsters outside! All my teammates died out there!"

"You little brat, you've hit the jackpot, you know? If you stay here and wait for the riot to end, you'll be finished once the monsters return! Follow us and you'll be fine, see?"

As he spoke, Joso took out his steel-grade badge and waved it in front of Norn.

"That's real strength! You should be grateful to be working with us!"

Louisa raised her wand and cast the spell "Swiftness" on everyone.

"Stop talking and let's go."

Norn felt incredibly light on his feet. Realizing that staying there would only arouse suspicion, he had no choice but to follow.

"Where are the arrows?! I'm asking you why the arrows haven't been delivered yet!"

"Holy crap, there's a mountain of monster corpses over there! Blow them away!"

Holy crap!

A black wolf covered in wounds stepped over the corpses of monsters scattered all over the ground, crossed the magic circle corridor, and pounced on Pinas, who was directing the battle.

The guards nearby drew their swords and cleaved the black wolf in two, then helped the still-shaken Pinas to his feet.

"Damn it, quickly blow away those monster corpses on the side roads! Those beasts are coming!"

Several mages hurriedly cast spells, summoning powerful streams of air to blow away the fragments of corpses covering the magic circle, but a few monsters still jumped over.

"What are you all standing there for! We didn't hire you here just to watch a show!"

After being scolded by Pinas, the previously stoic adventurers finally rushed forward to deal with the monsters that had broken through the defenses.

The arrival of the fourth wave of monsters completely stunned these adventurers; they had never imagined that there would be so many monsters in the dungeon.

A dark mass, rushing in like a flood.

They first crashed into the orange-red, scorching barrier, which acted like a sieve, keeping many monsters out.

Then the floodwaters turned into streams, flowing through corridors filled with traps and magic arrays, turning into a field of charred corpses.

The roars of monsters and the sounds of magic circles exploding were incessant, and the increasingly strong stench of burning in the air made those present gradually forget the taste of fresh air.

These are only the monsters on the fourth and fifth levels. The two lines of defense can still handle them. But when the sixth, seventh, and even deeper levels of beings arrive, these adventurers will inevitably have to go into battle to fight them.

Many people were discouraged by this thought, but soldiers had been stationed at the entrance, and anyone found fleeing would be killed on the spot.

"All of you, get up here! Send those arrows up!"

Urged on by Pinas, a dozen or so adventurers reluctantly carried several baskets of arrows and climbed the makeshift watchtower.

The archers above were mainly responsible for shooting down flying monsters, but due to the large number of monsters breaking through the barrier and rushing in, they had to distribute their firepower to the monsters on the ground.

Several adventurers carried arrows up to the watchtower, then distributed them, handful by handful, into the archers' quivers.

"Damn it, this job is inhuman! It's smelly and noisy. I shouldn't have come here!"

An adventurer, cursing, kicked over a basket of arrows, only to be knocked to the ground by fleeing archers a second later.

"Stop fucking trampling! Damn it! Why are you running away...?"

boom! ! !

A flaming boulder suddenly flew by, instantly destroying an arrow tower. The adventurer who was trampled fell to the ground and died instantly.

Pinas looked toward the destroyed arrow tower and discovered that it was not a boulder at all, but a large mass of monster flesh!

Outside the first line of defense, an ogre gathered the shattered monster corpses together, piling them into a large ball like a snowball, and then hurled it out.

The corpse ball ignited as it passed through the scorching barrier, looking just like a fireball.

As the ogre picked up another piece of corpse, Pinas shouted:

"Attention everyone! A fireball is coming!!"

Swish! ! !

The corpse ball tore through the air, smashing another arrow tower, and the scattered pieces of flesh killed several more unfortunate adventurers.

The magic advisor accompanying Pinas promptly cast a barrier spell, successfully blocking a charred chunk of flesh.

"Damn it! Kill it!"

Pinas pointed at the troll and said angrily.

Several magic advisors unleashed lightning magic, and after several attempts, they finally killed the troll.

An hour later, the smoke cleared, and this wave of demons was successfully annihilated.

Pinas glanced at the magic crystal at the entrance, a weathervane of the abyss's upheaval that had remained azure for decades but was now crimson like blood.

The demon corpses in the magic circle corridor were broken into pieces and trampled on, covering the ground like a carpet.

In order not to affect the subsequent use of the magic circle, Pinas sent the adventurers up to shovel away the corpses, while he returned to the command room to rest.

Upon entering the command room, Pinas collapsed onto a recliner, took out a chilled bottle of Golden Jade Wine, and gulped it down. His long-tense nerves finally relaxed.

The Abyss Riot is a disaster, but also an opportunity.

If I can pull through, I'll become famous. Even if Miss Austin isn't saved, I'll still be safe and sound under the guild's protection.

If he couldn't hold out, he would ride the BMW he had prepared beforehand and escape to another place to live in seclusion.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out downstairs, and Pinas got up and ran to the window to look out.

Driven mad, an adventurer rode a horse and tried to break through the enemy lines, ignoring the soldiers at the entrance. However, he and his horse were quickly killed.

Pinas's face immediately turned ashen upon seeing this:

"That's my horse! My purebred Flame Horse! And there's my money on it!!"
