32. This poem is a monster!
"Captain, Warren Valley is just ahead."
As he spoke, one of the rangers pulled the arrow out of the goblin's head and put it back in his quiver.
The goblin's strange behavior made him glance at the corpse on the ground a few more times.
Goblins don't usually store food; they eat their prey on the spot. But this goblin was dragging a dead deer around.
If I told those stubborn scholars about this discovery, I'd probably get a severe scolding.
"Everyone, get ready! Watch out for a monster attack!"
After speaking, the five priests in the team began to buff each member:
"Holy Light Shield", "Enhanced Perception", "Swiftness", "Super Strength"...
The expedition decided to proceed along the edge of the valley; if they went down the valley floor, they could easily fall into the same predicament as the previous expedition.
The group moved slowly, with warriors holding heavy shields positioned at the four corners of the group to protect the members; mages skilled in sensing magic were located in the center of the group, constantly searching for monsters in the surrounding area.
However, they were not attacked by any monsters until they reached their destination.
"Captain, we haven't found the seal you mentioned," a soldier said, looking into the valley.
"Strange, did those monsters rescue that humanoid monster and then leave?"
"There seems to be something down in the valley! Um... it looks like a group of human-faced monkeys!" shouted the ranger with better eyesight in the group.
Upon hearing this, the captain looked down into the valley and saw some black dots that looked like ants in the distance.
He immediately selected a few people to go down to the bottom of the valley, while the others were responsible for waiting upstairs.
When the group finally reached the bottom of the valley after a great effort, the scene before them completely overturned their worldview.
Eight or nine human-faced monkeys were training hard here. Some were doing bicep curls, some were doing bench presses, and some were running back and forth in the valley with weights tied to their feet...
Even more outrageous, there were several goblins among them, carrying animal carcasses and fruit, constantly feeding them into the mouths of the human-faced monkeys.
"What, Captain? What are these monsters doing?"
"Don't let your guard down! They might be trying to mislead us. Don't forget that these monsters can cooperate; it's normal for them to have this much intelligence."
The captain immediately realized his mistake as soon as he finished speaking. The area around the human-faced monkeys was covered with dried urine and feces. The feces and urine under the feet of the human-faced monkey that was running back and forth were evenly smeared all over the ground because it had been trampled back and forth, just like a running track.
This shows that these human-faced monkeys have been training here for a long time, and it's not just a charade to deceive them.
"Let's go take a look." The captain gripped his longsword tightly and walked ahead.
To their surprise, neither the goblins nor the monkeys paid them any attention; those who were training continued to train, and those who were being fed continued to feed.
"Goodness, look at what they're holding." The warrior in the group, holding a shield, stared intently at the giant hammer in the hand of one of the human-faced monkeys. "That's a heavy hammer made of fine steel, with lightning runes on it. I remember this one should sell for two hundred gold coins!"
"The other monkeys' hammers aren't bad either! Oh my god, there's even a nautilus tentacle on the ground!"
The pastor's eyes lit up as she looked at the tentacles on the ground. These tentacles were tough and flexible, and their texture was very similar to human skin. They were perfect for making crushing sticks!
"Captain, what should we do with these monsters?"
"What should we do with them? Are you planning to take them to the theater for a performance? Kill them all!"
In less than a minute, the monkey-faced creatures and goblins present were all killed.
"Bulgang! Put down that hammer! How can you carry out a mission while carrying something so heavy!" the captain yelled.
Bo'er looked aggrieved: "Captain, this one can sell for over a hundred gold coins! Why don't you take some too? We promise we won't report you!"
The others chimed in, but the captain grinned mischievously: "I told you to hide these things and come back for them after the mission is complete."
Upon hearing this, everyone beamed with joy and happily buried the equipment with rubble.

"It's all over, it ......"
Norn stamped his feet, sweating profusely. He had just retraced his steps, searching all the way to the foot of the mountain with the giant hand, but he still hadn't found his own body.
There are two possibilities: one, you were carried away by some animal or monster; two, your body fell off before you went up the mountain, possibly under that fruit tree or somewhere else.
Either way, it's all terrible. The only consolation is that at least I'm not dead yet, since my brain is still in this body.
Norn now feels like a sword is hanging over his head, ready to fall at any moment.
"There's no point in trying to find it by force. Since things have come to this, the only option is to send the brain back."
Norn looked around one last time to make sure his body wasn't with him before returning his brain to his surroundings.
Its consciousness vanished instantly. Barnabas II stood there for a moment, then returned to its original state and began searching for food like its other brothers and sisters.
In the darkness, my senses gradually became clearer.
Norn suddenly opened his eyes and found himself in a house made of wood and earth.
There were a few simple wooden pieces of furniture around him, and he was sitting on a compacted haystack.
Norn had imagined that he would end up in the lair of some monster or in the hands of Barnabas II, but he never expected to appear in this human creation.
There are humans on the eighth floor, and judging from their appearance, they have been living here for a long time!
"Mom, come quick! The monster I found is inside the house!"
A boy's voice came from outside, followed by a burst of noisy footsteps.
The drafty wooden door opened, and a blue-haired boy dressed in patched, tattered clothes rushed in excitedly, pointing at Norn and shouting, "Come in, Mom! She's right here!"
When he turned to look at Norn, his face instantly contorted in shock: "Strange! How did his limbs grow back?!"
Then another woman walked in through the door. She must have been the mother the boy had mentioned. She was also wearing tattered clothes made of various fabrics, had beige hair, and while not stunningly beautiful, she was quite pleasing to the eye.
What impressed Norn most was her watermelon belly; she was a pregnant woman.
"I didn't expect outsiders to be here. Has my child caused you any trouble, sir?"
Before Norn could answer, he was startled again.
Then, a whole bunch of...children squeezed in from behind the woman!
These children all had horrifying appearances; some had eyes that were noticeably different sizes, some had noses on their chins, and some were conjoined twins, with half of their bodies joined together...
"Please don't be afraid of them, they are all kind and mean no harm... I'm hungry!"
Before she could finish speaking, the woman suddenly clutched her stomach and knelt down, a pool of liquid spreading outwards beneath her.
"My baby is about to be born!" the blue-haired boy exclaimed excitedly.
