The towering, monstrous octopus looked like a baby octopus that could be swallowed whole in front of Norn. Thrombophobia and megalophobia intertwined, like a giant net enveloping Norn.

Those eyes resembled human eyes, with jet-black pupils like black holes, and the surrounding irises clearly showing pinpoint details.

The island on its head blends seamlessly with its forehead, as if it were growing on its head.

"Is this still a monster? Does this even qualify as a monster?"

Norn tried to use the Demon God's Decree on it, but as expected, it had no effect.

Perhaps it's because of the distance, but more likely it's simply out of control.

Norn stared nervously at those eerie giant eyes. He felt as if they were watching him all the time, or perhaps it was just an illusion caused by their enormous size, much like how people always feel that the moon is following them.

The answer was the latter. After confronting it for a while, Norn realized how ridiculous he was. The giant had no intention of paying any attention to him, or rather, it hadn't even seen him.

It was difficult for it to even see the grotesque octopus from its perspective, let alone itself, hidden in the flesh pit.

As for the surveyor's note that the island was far away from him, it was just that the giant was wandering around and happened to be moving in the same direction as him.

The giant sank again shortly after getting up, and the sea level rose sharply, creating another huge wave.

The monstrous octopus led Norn and the others onto the island, and a large tentacle reached down to the ground.

The octopus's skin, wet with seawater, was very slippery, and Norn and the others slid to the ground as soon as they sat on it.

"Good job, octopus. Stay here and wait for us."

After Norn finished speaking to the monstrous octopus, he turned and walked into the island, with the two bears, Big Bear and Little Bear, each carrying two large bundles of still-wriggling octopus tentacles, following behind.

This island is no different from any other island, with soft sandy beaches, dense forests, and black mountains—all the classic island features. The only difference is the surrounding sea fog, which makes it look a bit eerie.

The island is lush and vibrant, with fresh water and life. If that surveyor had successfully reached the island, he might have been able to survive until now.

Norn rampaged across the island with two giant bears. The Barnabas II's powerful body meant he didn't need to carefully search for footholds like a human. He would knock down trees if they were in his way, and smash rocks if they were blocking his path.

The island's primeval forest was instantly devastated by these three thugs.

"That's strange, I've explored the entire island, where's the entrance to the eighth level?"

Norn found a large rock to sit on, and after walking around the island for half a day, he was very hungry.

Since things have come to this, let's eat first.

Big Bear and Little Bear, time to serve!

The two bears lay down on the ground, their greasy bellies bulging out.

Norn untied the tentacles and laid them out one by one on Xiong Er's belly.

Just as they finished releasing it, a sound of wood breaking was heard, and Xiong Er's body suddenly sank into the ground, leaving a large hole.

Looking into the cave, it was pitch black inside, surrounded by pits made of ancient rocks. The place where Xiong Er had been lying was not land, but a canopy made of tree trunks and fallen leaves.

Xiong Da grabbed a piece of wood, held one end in his hand, and with a hiss, the torch was made.

He jumped into the cave and, by the light of the fire, Norn discovered a stone tablet.

It's not really a stone tablet; it's just a rock standing upright with inscriptions carved on its mottled surface.

"Eighth Floor Entrance"

"Byrne is really humble, he didn't even carve his own name on it."

Norn didn't intend to do what he did; after all, he was the second human to arrive on the island, and he definitely had to leave a name.

He stretched out his claws, removed the plants from the back of the rock, and carved: Norn Pierre was here.

After writing the words, Norn looked at a large pit behind the stone tablet.

The pit was pitch black, so Norn had Xiong Da throw the torch in.

The firelight illuminated the pink, wrinkled fleshy walls inside the pit, and the fire didn't reach the bottom until it became just a tiny dot.

"Is the eighth level inside the giant's body?"

This basically confirms the possibility that the giant is not a monster, but actually a passage connecting the seventh and eighth floors!

Without much thought, Norn devoured all the octopus tentacles to replenish his strength, then leaped down, with Xiong Da and Xiong Er following closely behind. The three monsters quickly disappeared into the darkness.

"Guild Master, the guild's expedition team is ready."

On the third floor of the Golden Wood Tavern, in the chairman's office, Pinas listened to Evan's report, nodded, and got up to go downstairs.

With the dungeon locked down, guilds are temporarily not issuing quests, and the tavern is much less crowded, with only a few customers coming in to drink and eat.

Two round tables were filled with people dressed in various styles of clothing.

Some of them were adventurers, some were aid workers sent by the kingdom, and some were hired helpers; this was the new batch of expeditionary forces.

Two days have passed since Norn asked Pinas to enter the dungeon to deal with the humanoid monster, and this time no one believed he could escape danger.

Every day the dungeon is closed, the guild loses a lot of money. In order to unblock the dungeon as soon as possible, the guild organized another expedition team. The main objective of this mission is to kill that humanoid monster.

Pinas went down to the first floor, explained the mission details and pay to everyone, and then let them set off.

A large group of people entered the underground city, among whom were two oddballs who were different from the others.

Their equipment was more complete, and their packs were larger and bulging, a stark contrast to the other team members who were traveling light.

In fact, their purpose in joining the extermination team was not to kill monsters, but to go to the deep dungeons.

A few days ago, these two Steel-rank adventurers participated in the search for Skaland's daughter and inadvertently saw blood crystals flowing from inside a deep-seated monster.

After receiving their reward at the Duke of Scalander's mansion, Joso and Baron went to the black market to inquire about the value of the Blood Crystal.

The result far exceeded their expectations.

A single blood crystal the size of a fist can sell for tens of thousands of gold coins!

This is several times higher than the reward Duke Scalander gave them. If they had known this would happen, they should have torn off the mask of civility and run away with the blood crystal!

But that operation was not without its significance; at least it taught them that the monsters in the Deep Zone could produce Blood Crystals.

"That's about enough, Joso. If you run from here to that side, you'll enter the Rivergrass Forest. There's a shortcut there that leads directly to the third level."

Baron whispered to Joso.

Josso nodded, and a small, portable magic wand slid out from his sleeve.

"Wind Walk Technique!"

The two of them suddenly broke away from the group and attacked the other members who were looking on with confusion.

"Haha! Baron, we're going to be rich! If we get just one, our adventurer careers will be over!"

Joso laughed arrogantly, and Baron was also extremely excited. He drew the heavy shield from his back and killed the black wolf blocking his way with a single blow.
