Whose baby is this kid talking about? I must have misheard!?

Norn's mind went blank for a moment as he watched the group of deformed children, under the blue-haired boy's direction, chaotically carry the woman away.

It took Norn a long time to realize that his hands, feet, and muscles had returned.

"I guess the guild sent another extermination team to kill those monkeys. It's too easy for those people."

Norn got up, took out wrist guards, leg guards and boots from his backpack, and put them on. He couldn't determine the background of these people for the time being, so he could only make as many preparations as possible.

After two days of non-stop training by the monkeys, Norn's limbs and muscles improved by 8 to 9 levels, and his abdominal muscles became very prominent.

Norn stepped out of the house; outside lay a village.

The houses were all built crookedly and haphazardly, but the ground was very clean.

Several deformed children carrying wooden basins, rags and other things ran into the house next door, where the woman was giving birth.

Norn went inside. The room was noisy and chaotic. Strange-looking children huddled around a wooden bed, and the woman on the bed was screaming her heart out.

The blue-haired boy stood by the bed, his hands glowing with green light, trying to alleviate the woman's pain with magic while directing the deformed children.

After a while, a dark red mass of flesh slid out from the woman's tattered skirt, and the deformed children quickly caught it with a cloth.

Then Norn saw the deformed children take out several dirty stone knives from the wooden tubs, heat them on the fire, and prepare to use them. He couldn't resist.

"Stop! Use this!"

Norn stopped the deformed children and threw the longsword from his waist.

The deformed children understood immediately, picked up the longsword, heated it over the fire for a while, and then cut the umbilical cord.

A few minutes later, the woman's cries subsided, and she lay weakly on the bed, panting heavily.

"Quick, quick, let me see the baby!"

The blue-haired boy urged the deformed children to bring the newborn over, but after just one glance, the expression on his face instantly crumbled.

"Id, my good child, let me see..."

The woman spoke with a vacant look in her eyes, and Id handed it over with a disappointed expression.

Like Id, the woman was plunged into despair the moment she saw the child.

This was a stillborn fetus, its body a bloody mess, with no other human features visible except for its two undeveloped calves.

"I'm sorry, Mom..." Id lowered his head in remorse.

The woman forced a smile and patted Id's head: "It's okay, it's not your fault."

The deformed children returned the blood-stained sword to Norn, uttering a slurred thank you.

"Thank you for your help, dear guest from afar. If you don't mind, please stay and have a meal," the woman said from the wooden bed.

"Is there really a monster in this godforsaken place? There isn't even a decent blade of grass."

Baron emerged from the cave and looked at the desolate seventh floor before him, unable to help but complain.

Joso took out a bottle of mana potion from his bag and drank it all in one gulp. They had just been attacked by a group of trolls on the Byrne Road and it took them a lot of effort to break through.

"All the valuable monsters on the seventh floor are in the sea, but our goal isn't to earn those few measly coins."

As he spoke, Joso took out a travel guide, and following the instructions, the two successfully arrived at the beach.

Here stands a stone monument, inscribed with the emblem of the Adventurers' Guild and the words: "Cheers to your courage!"

Nearby, in Baron, a small hut made of rocks was also discovered. As soon as you approached it, a pungent stench of decay hit you.

Inside were three highly decomposed human corpses. These unfortunate souls had been hiding inside during the abyss riot and were wiped out by the monsters that came ashore.

Baron endured the stench and crawled inside, rummaging through the corpse's pockets and backpack, where he found three gold coins and a few pieces of dried meat.

Josso twirled his wand between two fingers, slowly waving it in the air. The next second, a seedling sprouted from the barren sand, then grew rapidly, soon becoming a tree that would take five people to encircle.

"Wow, no wonder they're graduates of Constantine University; such a big tree has grown so quickly!"

Baron praised, tossing a piece of jerky to Joso.

"Stop flattering me, it's your turn now." Joso brought the jerky close to his nose, smelled it, and then threw it away.

Baron took off his heavy shield and held it in front of him. His thick calves were bulging with veins. After a few big strides, Baron crashed into a tree like a cannonball.

boom! ! !

With a loud crash, the tree was snapped in two, and the shockwave kicked up a cloud of dust.

The two then hollowed out the tree trunk, leaving four watertight compartments, and a wooden boat was completed.

Baron was in charge of rowing, while Joso was responsible for keeping watch around the area and leaving a light orb at regular intervals to guide them back.

At first, the two were telling each other jokes to pass the time, but after a day, no jokes worked anymore.

The long hours of mechanical paddling had made Baron somewhat distracted, and the endless sea was slowly eroding their passion.

"Joso, I think I'm a little tired," Baron said weakly.

"I know what you want to say, but now that you're on this ship, it's too late!"

Joso's gaze was sharp as he stared intently into Baron's eyes and said:

"Think about our ambitions, think about the wonderful life we'll have after we get those tens of thousands of gold coins!"

If we give up now, we'll have to go back to being those miserable adventurers! Risking our lives for a few dozen gold coins, struggling our whole lives, and in the end, we can't even afford a toilet in Baserón! Is that the kind of life you want?

"No! I want to be a lord! I want a big house in Bathurn, and I want to sleep with a different woman every day!"

Baron's fighting spirit was ignited, and he rowed even harder.

Unbeknownst to them, they had wandered into a thick fog.

"Joso, the island! It's right there! Am I seeing things?"

Looking to their right, the outline of an island was faintly visible in the fog.

"Strange power"

Joso enhanced Baron's power, and the wooden boat hurtled toward the island with a white trail of foam.

"Sprint! Sprint! Baron, our wonderful life is just around the corner!"

Baron clenched his teeth, the oars on both sides almost blurring into afterimages, and Joso on the boat nearly fell over due to the sudden acceleration.

As they drew ever closer to the island, a huge wave inexplicably appeared on the calm sea.

The wooden boat was going too fast and plunged into the sea. When the waves subsided, the wet boat drifted on the water, completely empty.

The two fell into the sea. Baron had already fainted from inhaling too much seawater, while Joso held his breath and desperately tried to swim to the surface.

His terrified eyes glanced around unintentionally. Beneath his feet was a bottomless, pitch-black abyss, and in that abyss stood an enormous human statue!

No, this isn't a statue!

Its mouth opened!

In an instant, Joso felt the surrounding seawater rushing towards the giant mouth, and he and Baron were also sucked into the abyss.
