Tick-tick-tick-

Cold water slowly gathered on the stalactites, dripping onto Joso's forehead.

"Ahem!"

Joso coughed violently, spitting out several mouthfuls of seawater, and then his hazy consciousness began to awaken.

What came into view was a vast expanse of blackness, while the rest of the body's senses gradually became clearer.

It's cold, so cold.

Joso sat up in a daze, a ball of fire gathering in his palm.

Warmth flowed like a stream to his limbs and bones, and by the firelight, he saw Baron lying on the wet ground.

Joso stepped forward and slapped Baron's stubble-covered, rough face a few times.

No response.

"Damn, this is so troublesome."

Joso quickly removed the heavy breastplate from Baron's body, placed his hands on his stomach, and pressed down with all his might.

"Damn, does this guy have an iron plate in his stomach?"

Baron's abs were harder than wood, and Joso couldn't squeeze the water out of his body even after pressing several times.

Finally, he simply stood on it and jumped around like he was on a trampoline.

After stomping out several mouthfuls of seawater, Baron finally reacted and began to cough violently.

"My God, you saved me, Joso." Baron hugged himself, trembling as he thanked Joso. "So where am I now?"

"All I remember is being swallowed by that ridiculously large monster." Joso enlarged the fireball and brought it closer to Baron.

"So this is that monster's asshole?" Baron turned to look at the strange hole in the rock wall, where the moist flesh inside was rhythmically contracting.

Joso glanced around, then shook his head:

"This should be the eighth floor. The entrances connecting the different floors in the underground city are all kinds of strange and wonderful. I heard that the entrance to the ninth floor of the Sky Dome Underground City is a huge whirlpool in the sea."

"Disgusting. Was Byrne this pathetic back then?" Baron said, taking off his clothes and roasting them over the fireball.

"Let's go, grill as we go, and get out of this awful place as soon as possible."

The cave's structure wasn't complicated, but because Joso was extremely confident in his sense of direction, he didn't mark any paths along the way. As a result, they circled around the same place several times before finally finding the exit.

As they emerged from the cave, they encountered Id and his group.

"Joso, didn't you say this was the eighth floor? How come there are other people here?" Baron took off the heavy shield from his back and held it in front of him.

"Why are there two men here again!" Id looked at the two men with extreme disgust. If Sarah hadn't been there, he would have already attacked them.

Unlike Id, the moment Sarah saw the two, her heart was rekindled with hope, and she gratefully clasped her hands together.

"Mom, it must be you protecting us! The village is saved!"

Then, gazing at the two with captivating charm, she slowly approached them: "Guests who have traveled from afar, if you don't mind..."

Swish!

Sarah felt a gust of wind blow past her, and a perfectly smooth crack appeared in the ground in front of her.

"Madam, you should know the rule in the dungeon that you can't just approach other people. Take one more step and I'll make sure your head makes intimate contact with the ground."

Josso said, holding up his green-glowing wand.

"But Josso, look at how they're dressed, they don't look like adventurers at all. Even the beggars in Rotten River aren't dressed that shabbily," Baron whispered to Josso.

"Ugh!... Ahh..."

Lying on the ground, Norn was speechless, his eyes fixed on the two familiar faces as he desperately called out.

Joso was drawn in; he turned his gaze to Norn, his eyes widening instantly.

"Norn!? What are you doing here?"

Baron looked over too: "Holy crap! It really is him!"

Upon hearing this, Id reacted instantly: "So you're in cahoots with him!"

Immediately afterwards, a bolt of lightning shot straight toward the two of them, but was blocked by Baron's shield.

This attack ignited the gunpowder in the air. Although the two rarely provoked others in order to avoid trouble, they were still top-tier adventurers of the Abrasive Steel level. If others really wanted to fight, they were happy to accompany them to the end!

"This little brat can actually use lightning magic? The professors at Tandinger would drool over such talent. Baron, you're not going to go easy on him, are you?"

"Of course! Whether he's a genius or not is none of my business! If he dares to lay a hand on us, I'll make him cough up the shit!"

Sarah panicked completely: "Everyone, don't be impulsive! There must be some misunderstanding! Id, apologize to them quickly!"

"Apologize? Maybe in your next life! Merlin's rutting boar charge!"

Baron sprinted forward, each step causing the cave to tremble slightly.

Id used his magical power to create two intersecting rock spikes that rose up in front of him, only to be smashed to pieces by Baron in the next second.

Id was thrown against the rock wall, but he quickly released wind magic to blow Baron away, thus avoiding being smashed into a pulp.

Baron landed heavily on the ground, then got up as if nothing had happened: "This kid's got some skill."

"But judging from his appearance, that just now took a lot of magic," Joso said, looking at Id with interest.

Id did indeed invest a lot of magic power into that wind magic, but having never experienced real combat, he cast spells without any strategy or method.

No experienced mage would waste too much magic on harmless wind magic; if it had been a fireball, Baron would have been injured at the very least.

"Let me show you what I'm capable of!" Id raised his hands, and a huge, dazzling fireball instantly formed.

Joso immediately recognized that Id was a complete novice in magic. In his eyes, Id's method of casting spells was barbaric and inefficient, like pouring water into a small hole with a bucket, resulting in a significant waste of magical energy.

The fireball shot out rapidly, and José raised his wand, releasing a beam of green light that instantly shattered the fireball into pieces.

The scattered fireballs flew in all directions, one of which flew straight towards Sarah.

"Aa ...

Sarah's body was engulfed in flames, and she let out a heart-wrenching scream.

"Mom! I'm coming to save you!" Id quickly released wind magic to try to extinguish the flames, but instead it fueled the fire.

Seeing that he couldn't extinguish the fire, Id began using healing magic to restore the burned flesh on Sarah's body.

"Stop! Id! Stop right now!!"

Sarah could no longer bear the excruciating pain and screamed to stop Id.

Id cried in terror, shaking his head as he looked at Sarah's burned and then restored face: "I don't want my mother to die!"

"Id! Don't forget what I taught you! Have more children, produce more crystals!!"

With her last breath, Sarah shouted and then turned and rushed toward the black pool.

The Blackwater Pool was too shallow to extinguish the fire, and in fact, Sarah had no intention of putting it out.

She plunged her head into the pool and drank deeply, then rose and plunged into the pit, landing among the inhuman monsters.

The body in the flames began to deform rapidly. Ide ran to the edge of the pit and watched in despair as his mother turned into a monster.
