Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: The Path of Evolution

It's a mech fortress!

Guan Bai recognized the monster card at a glance: when he was playing with card power, he was often hit by NPCs using this card!

With any monster card plus this Mech Fortress, you can summon a powerful mechanical monster to the field in two cards.

With a high base stat of 2500, coupled with the Deathrattle that destroys one monster and the superior effect of reducing the opponent's hand when targeted by a monster, this card is definitely the best terminal card for the 5DS era Mech deck!

The fact that they were able to get their hands on this card means that this mountain town is definitely not just a simple gang member.

As expected, when Kanpaku asked Joel, he received this answer.

"This mountain town is a disciple of a famous dojo in the top-tier area. He stole the dojo's trump card and fled to the satellite area for refuge."

No wonder.

This guy was originally a scumbag who was expelled from the city, but he thought he was some big shot with a powerful background.

Yet this very person dares to look down on the duelists of the Satellite District, which shows just how outrageous the class segregation in New Domino City is.

The surrounding audience, seeing this magnificent mechanical monster, shouted excitedly.

"Mech Fortress, crush that scrap metal bastard!!"

"Mountain City, Mountain City, Mountain City!"

"You street scum, go back to your hometown!!"

The language was harsh and highly offensive, targeting the individual!

It seemed as if the duelist on the other side was making a mistake by even persisting to the end.

This is clearly abnormal; the odds for Allen and Yamashiro are 1:4.

Although the odds are high, it's impossible for everyone to bet unanimously on one person, especially a newcomer like Yamashiro.

Guan Bai looked into the audience and sure enough, there were several guys dressed in the same clothes leading the charge.

Is this really a psychological tactic employed by the Gear Gang?

Guan Bai was trying to find them, but the Gear Gang thugs darted through the crowd like fish, making it impossible to locate them.

Guan Bai circled the audience seats several times, but could only go back and cheer for Allen with a heavy heart.

Most people were cheering for the mountain city, and apart from Joel and Kanpaku, few people were encouraging Allen, the "old" general who had suffered repeated defeats.

Hearing the compliments coming from all directions, Shancheng's smile grew louder and louder.

A sinister glint flashed in his eyes as he pointed at Allen's monster.

"Mech Fortress, blast that piece of junk to smithereens! Full power!!"

The machine guns atop the mech fortress spun rapidly, their dense barrage of bullets weaving a line of fire that made the muzzles seem to be releasing a rain of orange-red lasers.

The scrap metal beast was torn to shreds without any doubt, and the smoke and dust kicked up by the artillery fire obscured Allen's vision.

[Alan Green's LP: 4000 → 3600]

Allen had just recovered from the impact when he looked up and saw the green-parted iron fist.

After being hit again, Allen rolled several times on the ground.

"Cough cough...cough..."

[Alan Green's LP: 3600 → 2200]

"My turn is over."

Yamashiro crossed his arms and coldly looked down at Alan, who was lying on the ground.

"How does it feel to be badly hurt?"

The mountain town mocked loudly.

With difficulty, Allen got up and shook his head violently.

He gritted his teeth and roared angrily.

"Damn it, don't get too cocky!"

"My turn, draw a card!!"

Allen slammed his strongest monster onto the field.

"Come forth, my strongest ally, Scrap Shark!"

The ground of the dueling arena cracked open, and a dark brown steel fin emerged from it.

It was as if the solid ground had turned into seawater, and the giant beast hidden underground leaped out of the ground and onto the field.

【Effect】

[Beast/Earth]

[Four-star] 2100/0

With a 4-star rating of 2100, it will destroy itself whenever a monster, spell, or trap card effect is activated.

For a normal scrap metal deck that needs to fill the graveyard, this is actually a pretty good effect.

However, Allen wasn't playing a typical scrap metal deck.

So this is a huge drawback, but—Alan has a way to solve it!

"Activate the Equip Spell Card, Dull Axe! Equip it to Scrap Shark, increasing its ATK by 1000 points!"

A wild, silver giant axe appeared out of thin air, transformed and reassembled in mid-air, and directly attached itself to the tail fin of the Iron Shark.

The sharp axe blade, glistening with the rust of scrap metal, made the weapon even more dangerous.

"Attack power 3100?!"

Shancheng's smile vanished abruptly, as if he had swallowed a stone.

"That's 3100, get ready to get beaten up!"

Allen shouted wildly.

"Scrap Shark, bite that green part over there!"

"A scrap metal meat grinder!!"

The red turbine on the scrap metal shark began to spin, causing the sharp blade in its mouth to spin at high speed, like a meat grinder.

However, this time it's going to chew up steel!

It swallowed the green part whole, accompanied by the sickening creak of steel deforming. After a series of agonizing blows, the scrap metal shark spat out the tattered green part and slammed it towards the mountain city with its tail.

【Yamashiro Tsuyoshi LP3700 → 2100】

Yamashiro used his tall frame to withstand the enormous impact, his veins bulging and his breathing labored.

"Depend on……"

He spat, his mind filled with the humiliation and resentment of being insulted by trash.

In his view, how could the garbage from this satellite zone possibly reach him, who came from the top zone?

He's Yamashiro Takemoto, the top disciple of the Mecha Dojo, who stole the dojo's strongest card! These trash from the satellite districts, who even have to pick up cards by scavenging, how could they possibly damage my life points!?

Alan couldn't understand Shancheng's thoughts.

All he knew was that the enemy's mentality collapsed under his relentless attack—which was only natural, as no one could remain calm under such a fierce assault!

The seemingly tall person in front of you is nothing but a coward!

"I'm setting one card down, my turn is over!"

Yamashiro Takemoto put away his playful attitude and finally decided to get serious.

This satellite zone trash, which dares to ride roughshod over us, must be taught a lesson they'll never forget!

"My turn, draw a card!"

"I usually summon mechs with mechanical skeletons!"

"With the special ability of the engine-powered mech skeleton, I'll add a mech fortress from my deck to my hand!"

"Then, discarding the Mech Fortress and Yellow Gear from my hand, I'll Special Summon a second Mech Fortress!"

The rumbling sound was repeated once again, and the second mech fortress appeared on the field of the mountain city with a murderous aura. Its cannons seemed ready to swallow Allen up at any moment!

Mech Fortress

[Seven Stars] 2500/1300

"Battle Phase!"

With a wave of his hand, Yamashiro ordered his monster to launch a suicide attack without hesitation.

"Mech Fortress One, attack Scrap Shark!"

Allen was completely dumbfounded.

Why would you use a monster with low attack power to just crash into it?

But no matter what, Allen raised his hand.

"Attack it, Scrap Shark!"

Meanwhile, Kanpaku in the stands had already figured it out: they were going to use the Mech Fortress's last words to eliminate the Scrap Shark and pave the way for the final attack!

With a death wish, the mech fortress resolutely crashed into the rusty, sharp teeth of the Iron Shark!

[Mountain City LP: 2100→1500]

They succeeded!

The mountain town let out a sinister laugh, completely different from the rough voice from before.

He has made no attempt to hide his true nature!

"The effect of the Engine Fortress can be activated if it is destroyed in battle and sent to the Graveyard, destroying one card on your field!"

"Of course I'm going to destroy the Scrap Shark!"

The wreckage of the mech fortress detonated, and the chain of explosions engulfed Allen's monster!

"Scrap Shark!"

Seeing his strongest monster destroyed, Allen couldn't contain himself and shouted out loud.

Yamashiro smiled evilly.

"In that case, no shield can protect you."

"Mech Fortress Two, direct attack!"

Allen quickly flipped over the last trap card.

"I activate the Counter Gate to negate this attack, and draw a card. If it is a monster card, I can Normal Summon it in Attack Position."

Allen rested his right hand quietly on the deck, breathing rapidly.

Whether it succeeds or not depends on the draw.

Allen closed his eyes.

Draw a card!

"The card I drew is the Scrap Goblin!"
