Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds: The Path of Evolution

At the moment when Izayoi clashed with the Gearmen, the Regent quickly retreated.

Taking advantage of the others' inattention, he bypassed the intersection and climbed in through a window at the back of the building.

Time was of the essence; he had to find all the secrets before Izayoi Aki dealt with these henchmen!

Go up the stairs.

Soon, Guan Bai arrived at the top floor of the building.

The rooms here have all been opened up, creating a spacious open space.

"Hehehe...hehehe..."

Sharp laughter came from the doorway, brushed past Guan Bai's ears, and diffused in the cool moonlight.

A madman knelt on the ground, looking at the duel disk and laughing.

Before Guan Bai could even catch his breath, an intense hostility, like ice water, permeated his brain!

"Ha...haha...enemy detected, eliminated!"

His movements as he stood up were slow yet strangely steady, his pale eyes staring intently at Guan Bai!

A pure white wave of light erupted from his entire body, transforming into a massive, terrifying beam of light that instantly closed in!

Guan Bai fully charged up with his shield.

"BOOM!!"

Amidst a terrifying echo, a shockwave erupted, ripping open the ceiling of the entire floor!

The energy of light was completely absorbed by the Duel Disk, but the remaining immense power still pushed Kanpaku backward.

Looking at the tracks he had left on the ground, now black and smoking.

Guan Bai, having recovered, looked up at the madman who was unleashing incredible power.

He had a thin build, slanted eyes, a short beard, and a mouth missing a front tooth.

This is not Yamada Gorin, but his deputy, Inoue Maki!

He's a mind-based duelist too?!

His presence here suggests that the leader of the Gear Gang had already spotted him and decided to sacrifice him to save the king.

Or has the leader already achieved his goal and set off for his destination?

"Duel!!"

As Inoue unfolded the Duel Disk, a phantom of light descended from the sky, enveloping all three of them in a flash.

A perfectly circular boundary, drawn mechanically, slowly rotated around the two of them; the barrier had been activated!

Guan Bai raised his hand and touched the boundary.

A strange force exploded at his fingertips, shoving his palm far away with a bang.

"What did you do?"

Inoue did not respond, but mechanically repeated the word "duel".

"Duel...duel..."

Guan Bai realized it.

The mysterious power within this Gear Gang's second-in-command is enough to enable him to engage in dark games!

The Dark Game...

The most famous tradition in Yu-Gi-Oh! is that playing cards can lead to death, which is the root of all evil.

This might be the first time Kanpaku has encountered such a dangerous duel in this world!

Judging from his current state, it seems he won't let me go unless I defeat him in a duel.

However, Kanpaku was someone who came to challenge them, so he would be more than happy to have a duel with you.

There is no survival without a duel!

Then let's begin our duel!

"Duel!" x2

[Kanpaku & LP: 4000]

"I'll make the first move!"

Kanpaku draws out a card, mentally calculating what kind of deck his opponent will use.

Based on the characteristics of the power burst just now, it's almost certain that the main deck contains a LIGHT monster.

I just don't know which section the card belongs to.

Is it Lightsworn, Demon God, or an Emperor deck that doesn't primarily focus on the Light attribute but simply adds Light Emperor?

There are too many possibilities, making it difficult to devise a solution.

Let's start cautiously...

Having decided on his strategy, Kanpaku took two cards from his hand.

"Normal summoning of small javelin dragons."

"Activate the effect of Small Javelin Dragon, Special Summon Dragoon - Phalanx Dragon from your hand, and Small Javelin Dragon becomes its Equip."

Brown wings drew a transparent stream of air, and a small dragon holding a shield emerged from the wind, raising two shields to protect Guan Bai.

"Set one card face down, end turn."

A simple defensive field.

It can withstand attacks and also send two small dragons to their graves.

It can be said that the battery life is maximized.

Inoue's turn.

"My turn... draw a card..."

Inoue's voice was hollow and dull, but his card-drawing movements were swift and efficient.

Just like a pre-programmed machine, there wasn't a single unnecessary movement.

"Normal Summoning: Great Sun Soldier."

White holy light poured down from the night sky, and ethereal mechanical hymns paved a golden path of light.

A pair of giant golden arms appeared, followed by a white machine inlaid with gems. The mechanical angel hovered in mid-air, faintly radiating a purifying light.

"Activate equipment magic, Great Sun Components, equip them to Great Sun Soldiers."

"The effect of the Great Sun Component: Equipping the monster grants it the ability to perform piercing attacks."

It's a Great Sun deck!

Sensing the cool energy emanating from the Great Sun Soldier, Kanpaku realized that this was definitely a spirit monster with a physical form!

The power of spirits!

Are the Gear Gang collecting rare cards everywhere for this power?

No wonder the Gear Gang was willing to offend the entire Satellite District to find a way to obtain it.

The Gears have suffered heavy losses, which is probably a necessary sacrifice for Yamada Gorin!

But why would he hand over the power he had worked so hard for to his deputy?

What happened? And where is Yamada Gorin?

As Kanpaku's thoughts raced, his eyes were fixed on Inoue's card.

【Great Japanese Soldier】

[Four-star] 1700/1000

Inoue Maki pointed at his monster with his left hand, which resembled an iron rod.

"Battle Phase"

"Great Sun Soldier, Purify Strike!"

Under the cold command, the bodies of the Great Sun soldiers emitted strange fluctuations.

The Great Sun soldier hovered and approached, its two golden fists slamming into the shield of the phalanx dragon, shattering it into countless fragments!

Kanpaku held the duel disk up in front of him.

The aftershocks of light bombarded the duel disk, and the enormous impact sent Kanpaku staggering backward once more.

[Kanpaku LP: 4000 → 3400]

What an amazing elf!

The base damage of 700 points actually had such a large aftereffect.

This power has already surpassed the mental duel in the Flame House!

This is just a lower-level monster of the Great Sun. If the extra monsters of the Great Sun were to appear, how powerful would they be?

"Set one card face down, end turn."

In Inoue's emotionless voice, the turn of events came to the Regent once again.

He glanced at the Japanese soldiers on the field, a wicked smile creeping onto his lips.

The Great Sun deck, the whole family is Light attribute, right?

Alright then, my Righteous Allies - Catastrophe Worms are all about fighting light-attribute enemies!

Let me show you what a Zerg killer looks like, a dark-attribute weapon of justice!

"My turn, draw a card!"

……

Satellite area, western coast.

A tall figure was looking at the image projected onto his D-wheel.

This person is Yamada Gorin, the leader of the Gear Gang!

The duel between Kanpaku and Izayoi Aki in the video resonated with the surrounding rare cards.

Using a duel at the Gear Gang headquarters as a ritual and a massive amount of rare cards as offerings, this is the duel ritual prepared by Yamada Gorin!

A strange power emanated from the image of the duel, surging into the sea in waves.

A burst of light erupted from the seabed, illuminating the black sea surface with a white glow.

Yamada looked at the rippling sea and grinned loudly.

"Hahaha, let's duel! Use your duels to pave the way for my ascension to heaven! Hahaha!"
