Marvel: Starting with the forced creation of villainous characters

Chapter 57: Uncle and Nephew Stealing from Each Other.

Seeing that the plot was back on track, Mark quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

That's more like it. You can change the minor trends, but you can't change the major trends, otherwise it will be very awkward for you, the transmigrator.

"Cool!" Skye exclaimed, then commented with some disdain, "This mech is huge, but it's so ugly."

Let's go back an hour.

After successfully thwarting the negotiations, Obadiah received news that his beloved nephew had been attacked on the road.

He was all set off fireworks to celebrate, but to his utter surprise, another piece of bad news followed.

The assassination attempt failed, and Tony pulled out his Iron Man armor, then pinned the assassins to the ground.

In the end, only the disabled man with a prosthetic left arm was struggling to keep going.

"Damn it!"

Obadiah was so angry he almost flipped his desk over.

They bragged so much before, saying they'd let me witness the power of Hydra, and this is all they did?

Realizing that Hydra's power was no match for his nephew's wisdom, Obadiah decided to take matters into his own hands.

He remembered that his good nephew's villa also had an arc reactor, which, although it was a first-generation one, was extremely well-made.

But that arc reactor should be enough to start that big thing on its own.

Obadiah decided to take a gamble.

Then he won his bet; Tony Stark didn't revoke his authority, and the Arc Reactor was placed in a small display case.

After acquiring the Arc Reactor, Obadiah decided to take Iron Monger to visit his nephew.

Thus, the scene of the Iron Monument falling from the sky, as seen in the news, occurred.

"Good nephew! Your uncle has come to see you!" Obadiah's malicious voice was transmitted to Tony Stark through the communication channel.

Hearing that familiar voice, Tony Stark glared angrily at Iron Monger.

"Obadia! My dear uncle, you still did it." Tony was both angry and aggrieved.

He couldn't understand why his uncle, who had been so good to him before, would stand against him and even try to kill him.

"Of course! I've been waiting for this day for thirty years! This is what you and your son owe me!" Obadiah roared.

"For thirty years, I've been supporting you! I built this company from scratch! No one can stand in my way—especially not you!"

"You want to shut down the weapons department, you're trying to keep the world away from weapons, just to satisfy your ridiculous moral fastidiousness. What about all my efforts over the years?"

"You want to use my legacy to support your ridiculous moral fastidiousness?" Obadiah's sarcastic voice rang out repeatedly, as if to vent the anger and resentment that had been building up in his heart for years.

Tony, equally sharp-tongued, accurately seized upon the loophole in Obadiah's words and retorted with a cold laugh, "My dear uncle, I wasn't planning on shutting down the weapons department before I was kidnapped."

"You're just a lowly employee. It was my father who gave you the opportunity, and it was Stark who put you in your current position. You just want to take over Stark Industries. Don't make it sound like I forced you to do so." Tony's tone was arrogant, and his voice was full of disdain.

Upon hearing this, Obadiah's anger intensified.

He always felt that Stark Industries' success today was entirely due to his strategic planning. Tony's talent might have contributed a lot, but it was just enough to offset the trouble Tony caused the company.

Enraged, Obadiah launched an attack with the Iron Monger. The hydraulic system roared, the gray armor's knees bent, and the thrusters under its feet spewed orange-red flames, propelling his two-and-a-half-ton body off the ground.

Iron Man led Tony straight ahead, each step leaving a three-centimeter-deep footprint on the asphalt road, with cracks extending outwards.

Tony's Mark II activated simultaneously, with blue flames emanating from the thrusters in his palms and on his feet, allowing him to dodge sideways at an even faster speed.

Iron Monger's right arm grazed Tony's left shoulder armor, making a screeching metallic scraping sound. The attack was dodged, and Iron Monger turned around, the six-barreled rotary machine gun on his shoulder starting to spin.

The gun spewed out a flame half a meter long, and the specially made shell casings ricocheted to the ground like raindrops, making a clanging sound. Tony raised his arms and used his forearm armor to protect his face and the reactor in front of his chest.

Bullets struck the golden titanium alloy armor, sending up dense sparks and leaving countless shallow dents. The streetlight behind him was hit by a stray bullet, its glass shattering and its pole snapping in half.

Tony lowered his arm and fired a palm shot at Iron Monger's mask. The blue energy blast flew with a trail and hit the target directly.

The Iron Monger's mask was instantly burned with a dark red dent, but he only leaned back slightly before regaining his balance.

Iron Monger raised his left hand, his palm cannon charging up energy, emitting an increasingly sharp buzzing sound. Tony saw this and quickly rolled to the side. The blue energy beam grazed his back armor and struck a parked car behind him.

The car was blown into the air, rolled twice, and crashed to the ground. The fuel tank ruptured, and gasoline spilled all over the ground, which was then ignited by sparks, turning the entire car into a fireball.

Tony Stark skillfully dodged the Iron Monger's attacks, and occasionally mocked the Iron Monger's manufacturing process.

"Hey Uncle, did you steal the Arc Reactor from my villa?" Tony sneered.

"You should know that it's just a crude product with little energy, and now you're using it to power such a huge thing."

"How long do I think that little gadget can support your big guy? Ten minutes? Or five minutes?"

Obadiah broke through his defenses because Tony had precisely targeted his weakness.

The first-generation arc reactor was ultimately too crude; to supply such a large Iron Boss, the arc reactor could only last for a maximum of eight minutes.

If they fight at full power, the time will only be shorter.

With this in mind, Obadiah became even more ruthless.

But Tony Stark's Jaeger was more sophisticated, and his Arc Reactor was more advanced. Obadiah was getting imminent death as his energy bar was about to run out.

"Damn it! Iron Arm Man?" The furious Obadiah tried to find the Winter Soldier, but failed, because the Winter Soldier quietly left the stage just as he appeared.

Although he was under brainwashing and control, it didn't mean he was stupid, nor did he intend to use his own flesh and blood to intervene in the battle between the two steel bodies.

Obadiah also realized that things were in trouble; that damned Hydra seemed to have betrayed him.

"Stark, you forced me to do this!" Obadiah's eyes were filled with despair and madness.

He had originally planned to just tear Tony's Iron Man armor apart so that he could remove the Arc Reactor intact.

But now, he can't care about that anymore.

Tony Stark must die today!
