Alien invasion? Luckily, I'm Superman.
Chapter 3 Command Post
Su Mo stood still and looked down at her hands.
There were green bloodstains on his fist, which had begun to dry and form a thin scab. He shook his hand to remove the stains, and his hand was clean again.
He looked up at the sky.
During the battle with the squad, the sensors and artificial intelligence on the soldiers uploaded all the data from the battle to the enemy's command system.
His information has been exposed.
But so what?
Su Mo stood in the ruins, wearing a T-shirt with several holes burned by laser and a pair of jeans covered in ash.
He looked like an extra who had just stepped out of a disaster movie set.
He clenched his fist, feeling the power continuously flowing into his body, like a river that never dries up.
Su Mo looked at the alien soldiers frozen into ice blocks and a slight smile appeared on his lips.
"Frozen Breath..." he muttered to himself, "Is it really him?"
He remembered a name.
superman.
Clark Kent. The last son of Krypton. Man of Steel.
As the most famous superhero on Earth in his previous life, who hasn't fantasized about becoming Superman?
Did Su Mo also fantasize about this when she was a child?
But now, he no longer needs to fantasize.
He closed his eyes, trying to feel more power.
Thermal rays.
He could sense its presence, and he could sense that it was waiting to be awakened.
But when he deliberately tried to direct the energy towards his eyes, a sharp pain exploded from deep within his eyeballs, as if someone had stabbed his pupil with a needle.
Su Mo grunted and immediately stopped trying.
He opened his eyes, his vision was a little blurry, and his eyes were a little sore.
Su Mo rubbed her eyes and took a deep breath.
New sounds came from afar.
More alien soldiers are landing, more lasers are being fired, and more buildings are collapsing. The entire city is burning, thick smoke blots out the sun, turning the world into a hazy yellow.
Su Mo heard more people crying out.
His expression turned serious.
Su Mo tried to fly.
He crouched down, bent his knees slightly, and then jumped lightly, his body soaring more than 300 meters into the air like a rocket.
He hovered in the air, his body swaying slightly, his center of gravity somewhat unsteady.
Su Mo adjusted her posture.
He gritted his teeth, focused his attention, and flew off in a certain direction.
He shot off like an arrow, so fast that he left a long white trail behind him.
He wasn't very skilled at flying, but he was making progress.
The superintelligence was rapidly providing corrective solutions. His body, like a sophisticated machine, immediately executed adjustments upon receiving instructions.
Su Mo hovered 300 meters in the air, looking down at the city below.
This is the city where he lived for six years.
The city was filled with skyscrapers cut in half, commercial districts engulfed in flames, and residential areas littered with collapsed buildings and burning vehicles.
Broken glass and rubble were scattered on the streets, and the whole city looked like a piece of waste paper crumpled by a giant hand.
Dozens of alien soldier squads are operating in various corners of the city. Their targets are clear: still-functioning government agencies, transportation hubs, hospitals, and the like.
Su Mo's pupils contracted slightly.
His superhuman vision pierced through the thick smoke and ruins, revealing the scattered alien soldiers carrying laser guns.
Su Mo clenched her fists.
He scanned the entire city and quickly identified a few of the most urgent targets.
He then took a deep breath and swooped down.
He reached his maximum speed, the air around his body was compressed into a layer of white mist, and he looked like a white shooting star streaking across the sky.
His first target was the group of alien soldiers who were moving toward the hospital.
Su Mo fell straight down from the sky, landing in front of the alien soldiers. The moment he landed, his feet left two deep footprints in the ground, and the shockwave spread outwards, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The seven well-trained soldiers simultaneously turned their guns on him and opened fire instantly.
Su Mo crossed his arms in front of him, taking the initiative to meet the first laser beam.
The red beam struck his forearm, leaving a black scorch mark on his sleeve, but that was all.
Seven soldiers fired simultaneously, and lasers illuminated an area of several meters around them.
Su Mo stood motionless in the middle of the beam of light, the laser creating faint ripples on his skin and clothes.
Steel body, bio-force field
Su Mo wasted no time, eliminating the threats swiftly with a single punch each.
In the time that followed, Su Mo moved like a white lightning bolt, traversing the skies above the city.
With each battle, he improved. His movements became more fluid, his power control more precise, and his ability switching more natural.
He could feel his strength continuously increasing, and his body becoming more relaxed and free every second than the one before.
In the process of transferring time and time again.
Su Mo discovered that the city's military forces had been largely destroyed.
The garrison camp was hit directly by a laser from orbit, and most of its equipment and personnel were lost in the first wave of attacks.
After eliminating most of the alien soldiers, the city's remaining violent institutions, law enforcement agencies, and fire departments began to operate, controlling the criminals who were committing crimes in the chaos, rescuing the wounded and the injured, and extinguishing the fires.
As a key player in the city's defense, Su Mo encountered a city defense force still putting up resistance. After rescuing them, a sergeant reported to his superiors, and Su Mo was then invited to the command post.
The command post was located in an underground civil defense project.
Built during the Cold War and subsequently renovated and expanded multiple times, this site is now a fully functional underground command center. Its thick reinforced concrete roof can withstand direct hits from conventional bombs, and its independent ventilation and power supply systems allow it to remain operational even when surrounded.
The underground command post was larger than Su Mo had imagined, with long corridors lined with rooms of different functions: a communications room, a operations conference room, an intelligence analysis room, a medical room, and a rest room.
The corridor lights were emergency lighting, casting dappled shadows on the concrete walls. A damp, musty smell filled the air, mixed with the odors of disinfectant and diesel fuel.
Along the way, Su Mo saw many people. There were officers and soldiers in military uniforms, technicians in civilian clothes, and some civilians. Everyone had the same expression on their face: tired, fearful, and bewildered.
And anger.
Su Mo followed the sergeant to a door at the end of the corridor. A sign hung on the door—"Combat Command Room".
The sergeant knocked on the door, and a deep voice came from inside: "Come in."
The door opened, revealing a small room with a long table in the center covered with a map, and several people sitting around it. In one corner of the room was a communication device, its screen displaying static and a faint signal waveform.
