Chapter 51 Mandarin, I've Got the Ring
"Iron Man, come out and face your death! Don't hide and let your damn butler die."
Below Stark Tower, the Mandarin floats in mid-air.
He raised his right hand, and the shock ring on his index finger lit up with a blinding white light. A powerful shockwave blasted out from between his fingers, crashing into the glass curtain wall of the middle floor of the building. The entire floor of glass shattered simultaneously under the impact of the shockwave, and debris rained down.
On the street, several police cars were parked outside the cordon surrounding the building. The police drew their pistols and fired a series of shots into the air. The bullets whistled towards the Mandarin, but stopped three feet in front of him. The Mandarin didn't even look at them; he simply waved his left hand casually, and the police, along with their vehicles, were frozen in place.
"Oh, Iron Man, you've finally arrived." The Mandarin stopped moving, his back to those behind him, and spoke slowly. He didn't turn around; his "qi" allowed him to sense two people behind him. "What, scared? You brought backup?"
Tony was unaffected by the Mandarin's words. His expression remained unchanged beneath his mask, and the pulse cannon in his palm lit up instantly.
Two white beams shot out simultaneously, tracing straight paths through the air and striking the Mandarin in the back of the head. The energy from the pulse cannon exploded on the Mandarin's head, but it was blocked by an invisible barrier.
The Mandarin slowly turned around, raising his hands, and all ten rings simultaneously lit up with different colored lights. The shock ring on his right hand and the flame ring on his left index finger activated first.
A powerful shockwave, carrying intense heat and flames, blasted towards Tony from two directions. Two destructive energy torrents merged into one, heading straight for Tony's chest.
Seeing this, Su Mo grabbed Tony's chest armor with one hand and pulled him back, shielding Iron Man behind him. The Mandarin's attack struck Su Mo head-on, but Su Mo didn't even take a step back.
To conserve his energy, the Mandarin used only ten or twenty percent of his strength when attacking Stark Tower, but he used at least twenty times that amount against Su Mo. Yet, for Su Mo, it was like a mere tickle.
"I think you should just surrender." Su Mo looked down at the Mandarin below, wiped the dust off his chest, and looked at him with a mocking expression.
The Mandarin remained silent. He rubbed his right ring finger together silently. "Reshapers," capable of breaking down the molecular structure of any substance, require energy.
A tiny, almost invisible beam of light, capable of disintegrating molecules, shot from between his fingers, silently slicing across Su Mo's body. A large tear appeared in Su Mo's pants from the outside of his thigh.
A hush fell over the scene. The Mandarin hovered in the air, his pupils slightly contracted. His strongest attack, a weapon capable of cutting through vibranium, had only managed to tear a pair of trousers from Su Mo's body.
Su Mo smiled speechlessly. Tony, behind Su Mo, began charging the cluster cannon on his chest.
"call out--"
Tony emerged from behind Su Mo, and the massive, amplified chest-mounted cluster cannon on his chest fired. A bright yellow-white beam of energy erupted from it.
The Mandarin immediately activated the vortex ring on his right middle finger, releasing a rotating wind wall. The instant the beam of light touched the wind wall, the two energies began to annihilate each other, and the wind wall dissolved at a visible speed. The Mandarin frowned, not taking the brunt of the beam's attack head-on, but instead using the wind to dodge its aftershocks.
After dodging, the Mandarin raised his left hand. The ring on his little finger lit up. It was the "Dark Realm" ring, capable of creating absolute darkness.
A thick, opaque black field spread from his fingertips, instantly engulfing the space where Tony and Su Mo were. Within that field, light vanished. Tony's vision was now completely black, and he was briefly stunned.
The Mandarin seized the opportunity, activated the lightning ring on his left middle finger, and released a thick, powerful bolt of lightning.
The blue arc of electricity struck Tony's Mark armor with pinpoint accuracy. The current spread along the armor's surface, breaching multiple circuit protection systems, and a series of red warning lights flashed wildly on Tony's HUD screen. Tony let out a muffled groan, his body stiffening on the spot.
At this moment, Su Mo sighed. He had originally wanted Tony to kill the Mandarin with his own hands to resolve his inner conflicts and grudges. But now it seemed best to forget about it.
Su Mo's figure disappeared from the spot. Losing his sight did not prevent Su Mo from using his super hearing to find the Mandarin's location.
Before Su Mo's afterimage even began to dissipate in the Mandarin's eyes, Su Mo had already appeared behind him. A simple, unadorned straight punch pierced through the Mandarin's energy shield (White Light Ring).
The Mandarin's eyes widened suddenly as he tried to activate the "Mind Ring" to hypnotize Su Mo. But Su Mo remained unaffected. He reached out with his right hand, grabbed the Mandarin's right thumb, and pulled hard, the ring disappearing into Su Mo's palm. He did the same with his left hand.
In an instant, the Mandarin lost the Ten Commandments, but he was still resisting. His body still contained "qi." He struck towards Su Mo's chest with a fierce palm strike. Su Mo countered with a swift, karate chop, his right hand forming a palm, fingers together, and plunged the Mandarin into his abdomen.
His location was precise. He could see the energy flowing within the other person's body, the golden streams surging through the meridians, and the point where they converged the most was in the dantian.
The moment the hand stab pierced through, the air currents dissipated outwards like a punctured balloon. The Mandarin's body stiffened abruptly, his face drained of color, and he went limp as if deflated.
Su Mo, carrying the Mandarin who looked like a dead pig, flew to Tony, who was lying on the ground, and threw the Mandarin to the ground. The Mandarin collapsed to the ground.
Tony removed his mask, looking somewhat disheveled. He glanced down at his smoking mech and gave a wry smile.
"Looks like I should bring a few more mechs. Maybe it's time to try out nanotech mechs."
Su Mo crouched down to Tony's eye level, his tone filled with genuine concern. "Tony, I think you're right." He paused, "Also, perhaps you should go to the front lines less often; that would be more in line with your status as a super scientist, wouldn't it?"
Tony glanced at him, paused for a second, and then nodded.
Su Mo spread the ten rings in her palm and picked out two—"The Reshaper" and "Mind Ring." She gave the remaining eight to Tony.
"The Ten Rings are alien technology, Tony. Perhaps you can figure something out about it." Su Mo handed over the eight rings.
Tony took it, weighed it in his palm, and a hint of curiosity appeared on his face. This broken ring was actually alien technology?
Su Mo stood up and looked at the sky. Earth should be relatively safe now, but the Mandarin's appearance brought back Su Mo's sense of crisis. Perhaps he couldn't continue to be so complacent.
The biggest threats right now are Thanos and Dormammu. Thanos is manageable; as long as he doesn't collect all six Infinity Stones, he's fine. Su Mo plans to take the Mind Stone back to his own universe, so Thanos will never be able to snap his fingers again.
However, Dormammu, a multidimensional demon, is unlikely to be completely controlled by Doctor Strange using the Time Stone to endlessly loop through time; the margin for error is too low.
Perhaps it's time to go to Kamar-Taj and talk to the Ancient One, the Sorcerer Supreme. Su Mo had always wondered why the Ancient One didn't appear as soon as the protagonist entered the world, unlike in other fanfictions. Su Mo shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it. He bid farewell to Tony, took to the air, and flew towards the Himalayas in China.

The scene changes.
"Sir, His Holiness the Venerable Master is waiting for you."
Modu—the Supreme Master's chief disciple—appeared before Su Mo as he stepped into Nepal, on the southern slopes of the Himalayas. Dressed in black robes, he had clearly been waiting for a long time. Su Mo was then led by him through the bustling city to a wooden door carved with intricate magical arrays.
"The Sorcerer Supreme is inside." Mordo pushed open the door, stepped aside, and gestured for him to enter.
