Chapter 90 "Wisdom" - Kamala
The sound of a motorcycle grew louder as it approached. A silver-white motorcycle emerged from the edge of the snowfield, its wheels kicking up a cloud of white dust as it churned through the snow.
The rider, dressed in a white tactical uniform and wearing sunglasses, exuded an old-school tough guy vibe; he was a Blade Runner, a half-vampire, a Moon Warrior.
Sitting in the back seat was Kamala Khan, a young woman with her hands gripping Blade's shoulders. She squinted as the wind blew, and her hair flew wildly behind her.
Su Mo manipulated the zombie controller left by Melina, pressing several buttons. The wandering zombies around the base neatly parted to both sides, revealing a passage leading directly to the gate.
"What's going on?" Kamala poked her head out from the back of the motorcycle.
Blade Runner gripped the handlebars firmly, his voice low and deep: "Don't worry. This is a special method used by the survivors here, and it's the reason they've been able to stand here for five years."
"But I still feel a little uncomfortable," Kamala muttered to herself, as a purple glow began to emanate from her hands.
Colorful, hard crystals condensed and formed on the back of her hand and between her knuckles, enveloping her fist like a glowing gauntlet. She warily scanned the controlled zombies around her, feeling as if they might pounce at any moment.
Su Mo spotted Kamala's face from afar and sighed inwardly. He couldn't understand why Wanda was so fixated on this guy.
Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American Muslim, is a product of political correctness. Her ability is to construct hard light by drawing on Nur dimensional energy through her assistant ring; in short, she is a weaker version of Green Lantern.
While he was lost in thought, Blade had already parked his motorcycle and led Kamala to the base entrance.
The two saw Su Mo sitting in a chair, his legs crossed and his arms crossed over his chest.
"Who are you?" Kamala looked at Su Mo warily, the hard, glowing gauntlets on her hands shining even brighter. She realized the base was empty.
There was no human body temperature, no human breathing. Her heart skipped a beat, and she began to plan how to use S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intergalactic signal transmitter to send a distress signal into space after defeating Su Mo.
Su Mo frowned as he looked at Kamala's wary expression.
This is ridiculous.
Then he moved.
Kamala only felt a blur before a large hand grabbed her by the back of her collar. She was lifted off the back of the motorcycle and slammed to the ground, face down, snowflakes splattering all over her face.
A protective shield instantly erupted from her body, purple crystals enveloping her like a shell. Su Mo casually threw a punch, and the shield shattered like glass, the fragments dissipating into specks of light in mid-air.
The Blademaster stood to the side, motionless. The power bestowed upon him by the moon goddess Kongsu allowed him to perceive good and evil and the thoughts of others to a certain extent.
He could tell that Su Mo meant no harm, but he didn't understand why Su Mo's attitude towards Kamala was so bad. He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately didn't make a move. He knew he couldn't win, and fighting would only cause more trouble.
"Sir, please spare Kamara." Moonblade's eyes gleamed with a faint white light as he calmly advised Su Mo, "Whatever your grudges may be, you can handle them calmly."
Su Mo released his grip, stepped back from Kamala, and stood up straight. He shook his head, his brows furrowing even more deeply.
That impulse just now came out of nowhere, like I was pushed by something, and I rushed forward in a moment of impulse.
Could it be that he had been chosen as the villain by some unseen writer? He recalled the Marvel Cinematic Universe's setting: among countless Earths, there is one where the comic book writers' offices are located, and there's more than one. Deadpool once massacred the editorial department.
"Ahem." Su Mo cleared his throat. "We don't know each other. I just couldn't help myself and attacked her because she was so ugly."
Kamala got up from the ground, brushed the snow off her body. Su Mo had controlled his strength well, so she wasn't hurt. She opened her mouth, wanting to curse back, but held back. She couldn't beat Su Mo, so there was no need to make a fool of herself.
Su Mo turned to Blade Warrior: "You're here to find Melina and the others, right? You're too late; I've already taken them to safety. I'm here waiting for you so we can resolve this crisis."
He added mentally, "Mainly to check on Kamala's condition."
He had carefully examined Kamara's body during the collision; she had the physique of an ordinary superhero, nothing special. This made him wonder if he had made a mistake in his judgment.
"You can help us solve the crisis on Earth? That's wonderful!" Kamala's gloom vanished, her tone complex, a mixture of sadness and joy. "Then Lily and Kate's sacrifices won't have been in vain."
Su Mo asked a question and learned about the stupid thing they had done.
In a moment of impulsiveness, Kate, the second Hawkeye, attempted to shoot the zombie-like Captain Marvel in order to test just how powerful the so-called specially made arrow was, only to be blasted to smithereens.
Then the silly, amazing girl in front of me went crazy and rushed forward to her death, but was saved by Lily. She then remained unconscious until she was finally rescued by the Moonblade Warrior.
As for Lily, Moonblade said that the second Iron Man was infected and couldn't be saved.
After listening, Su Mo remained silent for two seconds. He was now absolutely certain that something was wrong with Kamala. Otherwise, why would everyone around her be dead?
"That's right, I have a plan," Su Mo said. "And that S.H.I.E.L.D. intergalactic signal transmitter you have is useless. Because the Nova Corps has already arrived on Earth. They've sealed off the entire planet to prevent the zombie virus from spreading into the universe."
Kamala froze. She touched the launcher behind her back, her face turning deathly pale. "Then...then Lily and the others sacrificed themselves for nothing?"
Su Mo rolled his eyes. It was clearly courting death, what did it have to do with the signal transmitter? But he didn't say it aloud, only shaking his head:
"Alright, let's go get the Infinity Stones first. Let's go to Kamar-Taj to find more warriors, then go to Sweden to find Thor."
Su Mo was afraid that Thanos would regain his senses during the process of retrieving the stones. After all, all six stones were now in Thanos's possession, and in the original storyline, Thanos had used the power of the Infinity Stones after becoming a zombie, only to have his intelligence forcibly reduced by the writers, leading to his death.
"Okay." As soon as Moonlight Blade finished speaking, a commotion came from afar.
It was the sound of thousands upon thousands of noisy footsteps, orderly yet chaotic, as a black tide surged in from the horizon.
"We've all forgotten about Wanda," Su Mo sighed. "Let's deal with this batch of zombies first."
He lifted Kamala from the ground and tossed her into the spaceship's hatch like trash. Su Mo believed that the battle would go much more smoothly without Kamala.
Moonlight Blade raised its sharp blade, and the power of Moon God Kong Su surged within him. Faint silver patterns appeared on his white tactical uniform, and his eyes turned pure white.
Su Mo quickly soared into the air, climbing to a height of several hundred meters, and then swooped down. His speed exceeded Mach 10 in just a few seconds, and the air behind him exploded in circles of white shockwaves.
He crashed into the very center of the zombie horde, the immense kinetic energy instantly spreading throughout the entire zombie wave. Tens of thousands of zombies were blown away by the shockwave, the sound of bones shattering was swallowed up by the explosive roar, and black blood and flesh sprayed out like rain, turning the snowfield into a filthy gray.
The shockwave spread outwards, blowing away layer after layer of snow and revealing the frozen soil beneath.
