Chapter 188 Night Tour

Louis certainly knew what the map was; in fact, he had considered getting his hands on it back in his first year so he wouldn't get lost at the Room of Requirement—until he met his living map, Catherine.

Of course, Louis prefers Catherine to inanimate objects and live points maps, at least Catherine can be used as a map.

So when Harry was showing off his new artifact, the Marauder's Map, like a treasure, Louise saw right through Harry's ostentatious behavior with just one sentence.

"Is it possible that you recognize the crescent-shaped face, the insect tail, the large foot, and the pointed fork?"

Harry froze, staring at Louis in disbelief before quickly shaking his head with a laugh. "How could that be? According to George and Fred, these four must have been at Hogwarts a long time ago. How could I possibly have any dealings with them? Besides, their codenames don't exactly scream 'good guys'..."

A filial son is truly filial.

"Is it possible that one of them is your father?" Louise suppressed a laugh, mercilessly spoiling the plot and trampling on Harry's mental defenses like a Maginot.

"My father?" Harry's voice rose eight octaves. Damn it, he had just cursed these guys for having inappropriate code names... He flipped through the map, looked at Louis, then looked down at the map again, clearly unable to accept this reality.

It was... quite sudden.

"You should know that your father had several good friends when he was in school, including our Defense Against the Dark Arts substitute teacher, Professor Lupin, and that escaped convict, Sirius Black, who is chasing you; oh, and finally, that unlucky guy who was killed by Black, the one named Peter Pettigrew..." Louis crossed his legs, and Christa, who had sharp eyes, immediately came over and knelt down next to him, gently massaging his legs.

"But..." Harry's mouth gaped open like a toad, but he couldn't get a straight answer out. His brain was completely fried, in a state of overload. How could he have unearthed so many secrets just by showing off a map to his best friend?

It took him quite a while to calm the turmoil in his mind. He picked up the black tea that Aslo had quietly brought him and took a sip, trying to soothe his restless heart.

"This is not scientific..." he finally said.

Louise shook his finger and said with a smile, "Harry, first of all, we're in the wizarding world, and the wizarding world doesn't follow science. You should say this isn't magic, or maybe you should add something like 'Merlin's stocking' as a prefix."

"..." Harry didn't know what to say.

He tilted his head back, drained his cup of black tea, let out a burp, and asked, "So... who are these four people? I mean, their code names, like Big Foot, Moon Face, or something like that..."

"First of all, Moonface is Professor Lupin—don't look at me like that, think about Professor Lupin's face, that scar, isn't it like the moon?" Louis, of course, wouldn't say he was a werewolf or anything like that to falsely claim to be the Seer, but he vaguely made up a reason: "Well, Bigfoot is basically Sirius Black, no doubt about it, after all, you couldn't have escaped Azkaban without Bigfoot, right?"

"That's true." Harry smiled, then realized it wasn't appropriate and forced the smile back.

"Wormtail should be Peter. I once heard Professor McGonagall say that the poor guy was short, so...Wormtail should be him. As for Fork, by process of elimination, it's 80% likely to be your father." Louis tapped his fingers lightly on the table, giving Harry a spoiler.

Harry looked enlightened; whether he understood or not, he felt he should.

"This map is amazing; even people who don't belong to this school are shown on it," Louis said meaningfully.

Harry paused for a moment, then exclaimed with delight, "So you mean even if Sirius Black appears on the map, I can still find him using the map?"

Good heavens, if he had listened to even a little bit of what Mr. Weasley said, he wouldn't have completely ignored it.

"My advice is, Harry," Louis shook his head, "I don't object to you contacting him, but I suggest you call in reinforcements before you fight him."

"I know, Louise, I'll definitely call you," Harry nodded, his voice firm.

He turned to look at the map and saw "Cornely Fudge" in the headmaster's office, besides Dumbledore.

"It really is true," he muttered to himself, a fire igniting within him.

He wanted to capture Sirius Black himself to avenge his parents.

Harry's fighting spirit remained until Ron and Harry returned from Hogsmeade. Seeing Harry's expression, the two exchanged a glance, unsure of what to say.

The child may have hyperthyroidism.

"Harry, Harry?" Ron couldn't help but call Harry's name softly.

Harry snapped out of his reverie, jolted from catching Sirius, and belatedly asked, "What's wrong, Ron?"

"What are you thinking about? Why do you have that look on your face?" Ron asked a little nervously. Harry's expression just now was... indescribably lewd.

Harry exclaimed, "Oh, it's nothing, it's nothing, I just remembered some happy things..."

"You're not in love, are you?" Hermione asked hesitantly, Harry's expression making it hard not to think of a young boy in love.

This was even more absurd. Harry would rather be discovered by the two of them that he was planning to capture Sirius Black than admit that he was a teenager in love. He jumped up as if he had been electrocuted and denied it repeatedly, but the more he denied it, the more suspicious Hermione's face became.

What's that saying? The bigger your reaction, the more guilty you are.

That night, Harry slept in the Great Hall again. Bored, he lay in his sleeping bag and opened the Marauder's Map. Since the lights were still on, he wasn't worried about anyone taking the map away.

Ron didn't notice Harry's actions; he was currently in the throes of love with Hermione and had no time to care about his good brother.

Anyway, it's supposed to be a movie for three people, so Harry is a little unworthy of having a name right now, but that's what he's happy to see, since nobody wants to be disturbed at this time.

Soon, he discovered something unusual on the fifth floor of the map—an unfamiliar name.

Upon closer inspection, he was shocked to discover that the name on it was Peter Pettigrew, who had already died!

Harry remembered what Lewis had once said: Peter Pettigrew was one of his father's best friends when he was in school. Harry quickly and quietly put the map in his pocket and, out of Ron and the other's sight, slipped out of the Great Hall under the pretext of going to the toilet.

The little Peter on the map seemed to be heading this way, moving very fast, from the fifth floor to the third and second floors. Harry followed him, and finally, they came to a corner. The little Peter was still moving. Harry turned around, but saw nothing.

He checked again and again, only to see Peter Pettigrew slip away from him like a wisp of smoke. He rubbed his eyes and looked again, but saw nothing.

But he soon realized something was wrong. In the direction Peter had come from, a black dot named Severus Snape was walking toward him.

Harry quickly folded the Marauder's Map, stuffed it into the pocket in the middle of his clothes, and swiftly extinguished the light emanating from his wand.

A few seconds after the corridor went dark, the light reappeared, and at the same time, Snape's expressionless face appeared in front of Harry.

"What are you doing wandering around the corridors so late at night? Let me guess, you're having another night owl bout, aren't you, Mr. Potter?" Snape's voice was as sarcastic and greasy as ever.

Harry knew Snape disliked him, and he had no intention of dealing with the professor politely, so he said matter-of-factly, "I was sleepwalking."

Snape's face immediately fell, as if he had seen some utterly disgusting piece of trash. He wore an expression of utter revulsion: "You're just like your father, Pott. He was just like you, so arrogant and haughty, wandering around the castle like that..."

"My father wasn't arrogant! Neither was I!" Harry retorted, stubbornly sticking out his neck, and then added sarcastically to Snape, "If you don't mind, please put down your wand. I need to go back to sleep."

Snape's attention was quickly drawn to Harry's pocket, where the map was sticking out, bulging out at an angle as if afraid no one would see it. Snape stared for a moment, then tapped Harry's pocket with his glowing wand: "What's in your pocket?"

"Nothing, Professor." Harry tried to struggle.

Snape was clearly not buying it. He gave him a forced smile and stared at him for a long time: "Take that thing out of your pocket."

Harry reluctantly pulled the Marauder's Map from his pocket and handed it to Snape. Snape examined it closely but found nothing wrong, so he asked, "What's this?"

"It's just a plain piece of parchment, Professor." Harry's lying skills were superb; his face remained neither red nor pale, and his expression was calm and composed.

"Is that so?" Snape forced a smile. "Since it's no use, how about... we throw him in the fireplace? What do you say, Mr. Pott?"

"No!" The young man couldn't hide his feelings after all, and Harry couldn't help but cry out.

"I think there must be some secret hidden here. Let me take a look." Snape gave Harry a meaningful look, handed him the Marauder's Map, and gestured for him to open it.

Harry did as he was told, and Snape tapped his wand on the parchment.

"Reveal Your Secret!" Snape whispered.

Under his magic, fine lines of ink, like a spiderweb, immediately appeared from where the wand had just touched. These lines intersected and crossed each other, extending to every corner of the parchment, and then words began to appear at the top of the parchment, clearly in bold font.

"You read it aloud," Snape said with an unfriendly expression.

Harry lowered his head and, using the light Snape had provided, began to read the map in his hand: "Gentlemen: Moonface, Wormtail, Bigfoot, and Prongs, greet Professor Snape, and..."

He couldn't read any further. The words written there weren't anything nice, and he felt that if he read them aloud, Snape would probably make him brush his nose with snot all day.

"Keep reading." Snape, clearly unaware of what was happening, was still pressuring Harry to continue reading.

Seeing that there was no other way, and since he was the one who made him read it, Harry gritted his teeth and continued reading: "At the same time, he asked him not to stick out his big nose and meddle in other people's business."

Snape was enraged. His face contorted as he roared, "You audacious little..."

"professor?"

A warm voice sounded from behind him, and Snape turned around sharply to find Lupin.

"Oh, Lupin, out for a stroll in the moonlight, huh?" he said sarcastically, with a pointed remark.

Knowing full well that the other person was a werewolf, but unable to falsely claim to be the seer, Snape was nearly driven mad with frustration, and this was the only way he could vent his anger.

Lupin didn't answer him, but smiled gently and asked Harry, "Harry, are you alright?"

Harry nodded, and Snape quickly said, "That depends..." With that, he snatched the Marauder's Map from Harry's hand and handed it to Lupin. "I just confiscated a rather strange little gadget from Pott. Take a look, Lupin. That should be your specialty. Obviously, it's full of dark magic."

Lupin saw the familiar map and couldn't help but smile, but he forced it back. He said with a laugh, "I don't think so, Severus. It seems to be just a specially made parchment. Obviously, whoever reads its contents will be humiliated. Perhaps it's something from Joko's Joke Shop."

As he spoke, he raised his hand to dodge Professor Snape's attempt to take it, and quickly folded it neatly and stuffed it into his shirt pocket.

"But I should really take a closer look to see if it has any hidden magical properties, as you said, that's my specialty."

He then looked at Harry and said, "Harry, please come with me, okay?"

Harry did as he was told, then turned to Snape and smiled goodbye, saying, "Good night, Professor."

……

Inside Lupin's office.

"I don't understand how this map ended up in your hands. To be honest, I'm quite shocked that you didn't hand it over!" Lupin's voice was extremely serious. He slammed the map on the table, scolding him angrily, "Have you considered this? If this map falls into Sirius Black's hands, he can find you through it!"

Harry was stunned; he hadn't expected this at all. Fortunately, Harry was a boy who listened to his own people, and he just remained silent.

"Your father didn't like to follow the rules either, but he and your mother sacrificed their lives to save you. You don't respect their sacrifice. Knowing that there was a murderer on the run, you wandered around the castle without any precautions. Is this how you repay them?"

"I won't protect you anymore, Harry." Lupin pointed to Harry's chest with the map, seemingly extremely angry and disappointed.
