"My days are numbered, and I need a successor. However, your appearance makes me think it might be more suitable to train you." Dumbledore said, then winked slyly. "I don't really want to see you become a dark wizard, so, would you be interested in taking over an old man's job in the future?"

"Professor, doesn't this feel like a mandate?" Louis wanted to recite a couple of lines of poetry, but he held back.

"Given time, you will surpass me in magic and in political maneuvering as well." Dumbledore handed Jerry another piece of honey candy, watching him eat it happily, and continued, "I'm too old for the cutthroat world of fame and fortune. Compared to chasing power in Wizengamot and the Ministry of Magic, I prefer to sit in Hogwarts Castle and bask in the sun."

"Indeed, you're quite the salted fish." Louis genuinely believed him; if Dumbledore were truly obsessed with power, he probably wouldn't have bothered to keep Grindelwald in Nurmengard.

"But have you ever considered that I might also be a salted fish?" Louise glanced at Dumbledore with a rather ungentlemanly expression.

Dumbledore chuckled, saying with glee, "If you're a salted fish, then there's probably no one in this world who would dare call themselves hardworking—I see you and Miss Worley sneaking into the Room of Requirement every night and not coming out until dawn."

"You really are a voyeur," Louis said with a dark face. "This is not gentlemanly behavior."

"I'm old, I'm old," Dumbledore said, his face neither flushed nor pale. "In your mother's country there's a saying, 'At seventy, one can do as one pleases'... I'm over a hundred years old."

"You seem to know my mother?" Louis seized on the key point.

"How could I not know her? She's Slytherin's most outstanding graduate!" Phineas's voice rang out from behind.

Then Principal Delis, along with the other principals, tied him to the stool again.

"Your mother had a good relationship with Severus back then." A flash of reminiscence crossed Dumbledore's eyes, followed by a quick look of surprise. "To be honest, when I saw you and Harry getting along so well, I felt a little awkward. Back then, Harry's father, James... was often hung up and humiliated by your mother."

"To be honest, her talent is the best I've ever seen. Even if James and the other three teamed up, they couldn't beat her... You really are like mother, like son."

Louis nodded; he didn't actually know much about his mother either.

"Actually, I thought you would handle Quirrell—or rather, Voldemort's matter—yourself." Dumbledore twitched his beard. "It's quite surprising that you've come to me for help."

Louis chuckled and said, "Then you probably don't know me very well. I'm a pretty flexible person. I always fight if I can win, and call for backup if I can't."

Play it safe and don't be reckless.

"Very clever," Dumbledore chuckled, "but lacking in chivalry."

"To hell with chivalry. All I know is that if you lose your life, you lose everything." Louis shrugged.

"Hahahaha..." Dumbledore laughed heartily. After a while, he looked at Louis with a hint of satisfaction: "You did a good job on the matter I entrusted to you before... Gryffindor has already taken action. Now it's just a matter of when Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff will follow suit."

"I guess it's because Professor Snape deducted points, Professor." Louis scratched his arm. "People are content with the status quo, and their ideas and ways of thinking are hard to change. They only seek alternatives when their direct interests are harmed."

"You're right, Louis... As for Professor Quirrell's matter, there's no rush to resolve it for now," Dumbledore said.

"Why..." Louis asked, puzzled. Didn't you stop using Quirrell to give Harry experience points?

"I think no one knows the true face of politicians better than you." Dumbledore's expression was unreadable. "Unfortunately, our current Minister of Magic is a politician."

Dumbledore was right; he certainly had a keen eye for talent. In the original story, Fudge employed the traditional British four-stage strategy entirely in response to Voldemort's return.

Phase One: We declare that Voldemort has not returned.

Phase Two: The Death Eaters may be stirring, but we don’t need to do anything.

The third phase: We should probably do something about the Azkaban breakout, but there's nothing we can do.

The fourth stage: Perhaps we could have done something back then, but it's too late now.

"That's true. Expecting him to admit Voldemort's return is less likely than hoping the Weasley twins will stop going out at night." Louis shrugged, completely unaware that he himself was also a night owl.

He made a precise comment about Fudge: "He cares more about his official position than doing any actual work, and he runs away at the first sign of trouble."

Dumbledore laughed heartily at Lewis's comment. After a moment, he asked, "Isn't this a description of your Muggle Prime Minister, Mr. Harker?"

Yes, the current Muggle Prime Minister is Jim Harker. He defeated Mrs. Thatcher, who was at the height of her power and whose influence was rapidly declining, and took her place as Prime Minister of England.

The ballast civil service system was preserved, thanks in large part to Old Louis's instigation and manipulation under Young Louis's instigation.

In his past life, when he saw Americans mocking British accents, he just found it amusing and laughed loudly. But now that he's fully immersed in the situation in this life, every time he thinks of that scene, he wants to curse.

"You stinking colonial bumpkin, running off to London to beg for food?" The feeling of anger was like something out of a poem: monkeys and devils mocking the Seres' Chinese accent.

Enough said, my fists are hard.

Shouldn't we at least let the US follow Big Brother along?

“At least Mr. Huck is more noble than him.” Louis said with disdain. “Mr. Huck wants to do something, but Fudge? What I can’t understand is that he would even suspect you.”

"Those involved are often blinded, while bystanders see things clearly." Dumbledore, on the other hand, seemed indifferent. "I only hope that the children of Hogwarts can grow up happily; I don't care about anything else."

"You're quite nonchalant," Louis thought to himself. "Let's see if you'll still be so indifferent when Fudge and Lucius team up to mess with you in the future."

"I'm over a hundred years old, Louis, long past the age of fighting over such vain things." Dumbledore chuckled, picking up Jerry, who was climbing up his beard, and handing him to Louis. "Don't you think Quirrell will have a lot of fun staying at Hogwarts? I won't interfere with his teaching of you; consider it a little test... Oh, Charms class is about to start, and I think Philius will be quite upset if you're late."
